PRODUCT CATALOGUE 3 TRADITION, QUALITY AND INNOVATION OF THE MOGUL BRAND Oil processing is one of the oldest industries in the Czech lands and PARAMO proudly carries on this tradition of more than a hundred years. The tradition is also inherently connected with the history of the MOGUL brand, which has become synonymous with the word oil in the Czech lands over the course of the many years that customers have been encountering it on the Czech market. Despite the successful history of MOGUL oils, the best known of them being SUPER MOGUL in its distinctive golden tin, history is not what determines the present character of oils from the Pardubice refinery. It is principally our up-to-date technologies, research and development. The current MOGUL oils not only stand up to comparison with top-quality oils of other renowned manufacturers but their parameters even outperform them in various aspects. The mixing plant in the Kolín centre ranks among the most modern in Europe. Use of high-quality base oils, their improvement with additives from globally renowned companies, up-to-date production facilities with automatic process control and in-house qualified research and development of new lubricant formulations ensure that all of the extensive group of MOGUL lubricating agents meet, and also in the future will meet, the requirements of the most demanding customers. In addition to the standard lubricants, PARAMO also offers a wide range of industrial lubricants, which comply with the ever more challenging requirements of modern industrial equipment. MOGUL oils are developed to operate both under standard conditions and in demanding modes or environments with higher operating temperatures, higher pressures or higher demands on oil fill purity. Our special environmentally friendly degradable oils are designed for agricultural machines or for timber harvesting. Our motor oils fully meet the enhanced demands on extended usable life that both manufacturers and users of gasoline engines and diesel engines make on the Pardubice refinery.

KLASSIFICATION OF LUBRICANTS AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE LUBRICANTS MADE BY PARAMO a.s. TO CATEGORIES AND CLASSES 41 The requirements for lubricants keep increasing, hand in hand with the development of machinery and equipment. However, this means that newer and newer lubricants emerge on the market with ever improving performance, thus assuring the necessary supply to satisfy the demand. On the other hand, the number of marketed lubricant types is significantly rising and so orientation in such a wide range is not easy. Therefore, in recent years various classification systems for lubricants have gradually appeared. Their target is to describe and characterize the lubricant categories (or the respective lubricants) using a system of defined tests and then, on this basis, to assign them to the specific classes of the classification systems. The sorting factor for presently used classification systems is either lubricant viscosity (or consistence in the case of greases) we talk about viscosity classification or their performance (lubricating ability, thermal and oxidative stability, detergent/dispersant characteristics, corrosion prevention, rheological properties and many others) in this case it is performance classification. Sometimes particularly in the case of lubricants for specific purposes complete testing guidelines have been prepared, which include both requirements related to the oil viscosity and description of the product performance (efficiency) using a combination of various laboratory, rig or also full-scale tests, sometimes even field tests. Such evaluation systems are usually called specifications and are elaborated by the manufacturers of the equipment for which the specific lubricants are designed. A good habit has developed whereby manufacturers and sellers of lubricants provide information in the original technical lubricant documentation about its assignment to the international classification systems and classes. This allows, among other things, relatively easy and prompt assessment of each of the offered products as concerns its typical performance and viscosity and therefore also evaluation of its suitability for the intended application. On this basis you can also consider possible substitution of the lubricants from various manufacturers (based on the equivalence of different products). In order to evaluate performance of each of the classified lubricants and possibly consider the mentioned potential substitution of one lubricant for another one, it is essential to know at least basic information about the bases and sorting systems of the respective classification systems. CLASSIFICATION OF LUBRICANTS CHARACTERISTICS AND BASES OF THE RESPECTIVE CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS At present the (international) classification systems are elaborated for virtually all the main categories of lubricants. The highest level has been reached in evaluation of automotive oils, a good level as regards classification of industrial oils and last but not least greases. The following summary gives basic data about the most frequently used viscosity classifications and performance sorting systems which can be currently found in the technical literature for the individual lubricant categories (i.e. mobile machinery oils, industrial oils and greases). Also some important information on selected in-house guidelines and specifications is provided. Oils for Mobile Machinery Automotive Oils The international classification systems allow simple and quick orientation in a wide range of automotive oils; by their means it is possible to characterize virtually any type of oil in a simple way. One of the base characteristics is viscosity classification.sae (Society of Automotive Engineers), J300 divides oils to grades according to their viscosities by different conditions (it actually helps to characterize the usability temperature range). The performance is characterized by classifications and specifications of the Association of European Automotive Constructors ACEA (Association des Constructeurs Europeens d'automobiles), and American API (American Petroleum Institute), these systems allow us to verify the real operation performance of the lubricant by means of a test series (laboratory, rig and engine tests). Very often we can meet classification systems that can be described as in-house systems; they have been elaborated by the leading OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers) -in Europe particularly Volkswagen and DaimlerChrysler, Volvo, MAN etc. Sometimes some other automotive oil classifications emerge on an oil label such as American ILSAC or United States Army MIL- L etc. There are also some specifications designed e.g. for evaluation of oils for hydrodynamic gearboxes (most often we can meet regulations elaborated by the leading American manufacturers of motor vehicles Ford or GMC) or for evaluation of so-called multi-purpose oils for tractors (Ford, John Deer, Massey Ferguson etc.). Automotive Motor Oils Viscosity classification SAE J 300 It characterizes rheological performance of the oil with a symbol composed of figures; the oils suitable for winter operation are identified by an additional W (Winter). It includes six grades of winter oils (0W, 5W, 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W) and six grades of summer oils (20, 30, 40 high HTHSV, 40 low HTHSV, 50, 60). The characteristic sorting parameter is kinematic viscosity at 100 C and High Temperature High Sheer Viscosity at 150 C (for summer oils) and Cranking and Pumping viscosity at low temperatures and kinematic viscosity at 100 C (for winter oils)..

KLASSIFICATION OF LUBRICANTS AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE LUBRICANTS MADE BY PARAMO a.s. TO CATEGORIES AND CLASSES 42 Note: The higher the number characterizing SAE grade in both groups, the more viscous the oil is. Modern oils described as year-round may conform to requirements of several viscosity grades at the same time. Such oil is identified by combination of respective marginal classification grades e.g. SAE 10W-50 and is called Multigrade oil. It is based on division of motor oils into three application categories the letter A identifies oils for gasoline engines, the letter B identifies oils for diesel engines in passenger cars and commercial vans and the letter E identifies oils for diesel engines in trucks. The performance level of each oil category is identified by additional figures 1 to 5. Category A1, B1 and A5 and B5 are for Fuel Economy oils with low HTHSV. Example: Code ACEA E5 identifies oil for diesel engines in trucks with the highest lubrication demands in global point of view. There are included American Specs. Category E4 fullfils the highest European demand (represented by DCH, MAN). Note: At present modern motor oils are often suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines at the same time. Such products will be identified by a combination of the respective symbols for example ACEA E3/B3/A3 (see MOGUL OPTIMAL). Performance classification API It describes the end-use properties (performance) of motor oils with a symbol composed of two letters, sometimes with a distinguishing figure. Oils intended for gasoline (spark-ignition) engines are identified by the letter S (as the first letter) and oils for diesel (compression-ignition) engines by the letter C. The performance level is determined by the additional second letter; the symbols are in alphabetical order (i.e. A, B, C ). Currently the top-level oils for gasoline engines are labelled API SH (approximately since 1994), SJ (since 1996), or SL (since 2001); in the case of oils for diesel engines we can encounter the symbols CF-4 (since 1990), CF and CF-2 (since 1994), CG-4 (since 1996), CH-4 (since 1998) and CI-4 (since 2002). Note: Modern motor oils are often suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines at the same time. Such products will be identified by a combination of the respective symbols for example API SL/CF (see MOGUL RACING PRO) In-house guidelines OEM's approval systems The leading automotive manufacturers often elaborate in-house guidelines for their vehicles (engines, gearboxes), compliance with them being a condition for approving of automotive oils from the individual manufacturers. In Europe, the guidelines by Volkswagen and DaimlerChrysler (Mercedes Benz) are the most important. Besides, the guidelines have also been elaborated by other automotive manufacturers such as Volvo, BMW, MAN, Porsche etc. The most frequent in-house guidelines by VW and MB characterize the following oils: VW 500.00 VW 501.01 VW 502.00 VW 503.00 VW 505.00 VW 505.01 - light-running motor oils for gasoline and non-turbocharged diesel engines (SAE 5W-X, 10W-X) - obsolet - standard motor oils for gasoline and non-turbocharged diesel engines (seasonal and year-round)- obsolet - llight-running oils for gasoline engines (SAE 0W, 5W, 10W-X or others) - light-running and standard motor oils for gasoline engines (SAE 0W/5W/10W-X, XW-30/40) with extended drain intervals (since May 1999) - year-round oils for diesel non-turbocharged and turbocharged engines - year-round oils for diesel non-turbocharged and turbocharged engines, including pump-jet engines

Performance classification API In the past API elaborated classification of oils for two-stroke engines; oils were identified by two letters. The first letter T characterized the two-stroke engine oil category, the second letter in alphabetical order (A, B, C, D) the oil performance. The classification is no longer applicable although it is still used. Oils identified in accordance with Japanese classification JASO (classes FA, FB, FC) or European Global (classes GB, GC, GD) have emerged. Note: At present the most common oils are in the API TC category. Automotive Gear Oils for Mechanical Gears (Gearboxes and Axle Drives) Viscosity classification SAE J 300 It characterizes the viscosity/temperature oil performance with a symbol composed of figures; oils suitable for winter operation are identified by an additional W (Winter). It includes four grades of winter oils (70W, 75W, 80W, 85W) and five grades of summer oils (80, 85, 90, 140, 250). The sorting parameter is viscosity at 100 oc and max. temperature for dynamic viscosity of 150 Pas (in the case of winter oils). Note: Generally, the higher the number characterizing SAE gradein both groups, the more viscous the oil is. Modern oils labelled as year-round may conform to the requirements of several viscosity grades at the same time. Such oils are identified by a combination of the respective marginal grade e.g. SAE 75W-90 Multigrade Oil. Performance classification API Oils for mechanical gearboxes are identified by the symbol GL and an additional figure (1 to 5 or 6). For example, the categories GL 1 and GL 2 include oils with no improving additive; other categories include oils with high-pressure or other additives. The most frequently used oils are in the categories GL 4 (for automotive gearboxes and axle drives with ordinary load) and GL 5 (for hypoid gears). Oils for Automatic Gearboxes and Oils for Combined Systems (Multipurpose Tractor Oils) Oils for automatic gearboxes are all characterized by the in-house specifications. The dominant manufacturers of these gearbox systems Ford and GMC play the main role in this field; they have also elaborated specifications that are now most frequently used. In the case of Ford, it is the guidelines of the M 2 C 33 series, recently MERCON, GMC prescribes for their vehicles compliance with specification Allison Type C for gearboxes in heavy mobile machinery and Dexron for automatic gearboxes in passenger cars. As concerns the special field of tractor oils, the efforts made towards simplification in handling several kinds of oils for one vehicle resulted in implementation of uniform oil so-called STOU oil (for lubrication of engines, mechanical gears, hydraulic systems and possibly also wet disc brakes ). The first stage of the development was the so-called UTTO oil (for hydraulic systems, gears and wet disc brakes ). Also in this area, the leading global tractor manufacturers are dominant and so there are specifications for individual oil categories such as Ford M2C 86A, JD 20A, JD27, Massey Ferguson M 1135, International Harvester B6, Zetor etc.

KLASSIFICATION OF LUBRICANTS AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE LUBRICANTS MADE BY PARAMO a.s. TO CATEGORIES AND CLASSES 44 Industrial Oils In the category of industrial oils, the most frequently applied classification has been elaborated by ISO (International Standard Organization). Very often the classification according to DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm) is also used. ISO Classification Viscosity classification ISO 3448 Viscosity classification for sorting industrial oils is systematically based on oil cinematic viscosity at 40 C, which is the sorting criterion. Oils are divided into 18 standard classes (from 2 to 1500 mm 2 /s at 40 C) always with an admissible range of 10 %. Example: Code ISO VG 46 identifies oil of the viscosity of 46 mm 2 /s (10 %). Performance classification ISO 6743/0 Industrial oils are classified according to their performance using the main symbols (letters in the first column in the following table) identifying the basic application category (application field) and additional letters indicated in the standards (see the standards in the third column in the table), which specify the respective products as to their application and mainly their performance. Example: Code ISO-L-TSA 32 identifies oil for steam turbines with normal operation, viscosity of 32 mm 2 /s at 40 C (10 %). Summary of the main application categories of lubricants and corresponding symbols (according to ČSN ISO 6743/0): Category Application field Indicated in ISO A Open lubrication systems 6743/1 B Mould lubrication *) C Gearings 6743/6 D Compressors including refrigeration, vacuum pumps 6743/3 E Combustion engines 6743/15 F Spindles, bearings and appurtenant clutches 6743/2 G Slideways 6743/13 H Hydraulic mechanisms 6743/4 M Metalworking 6743/7 N Electrical insulation *) P Pneumatic machinery 6743/11 Q Heat transfer 6743/12 R Temporary anti-corrosive protection 6743/8 T Turbines 6743/5 U Heat treatment 6743/14 X Applications requiring greases 6743/9 Y Other applications 6743/10 Z Steam engines *) *) Classifications are in preparation DIN Classification Viscosity classification DIN 51519 Viscosity classification for sorting of industrial oils has been taken from the ISO system it is based on oil cinematic viscosity at 40 C; oils are divided into 18 standard classes (from 2 to 1500 mm 2 /s at 40 C) always with an admissible range of 10 %. Performance classification DIN 51 502 Industrial oils are classified using the main symbols (letters in the first column in the following table) identifying the lubricant characteristics as to the field of application (second column) and additional letters indicated in the standards (see the standards in the third column in the table), which specify the respective products as to their application and mainly their performance. Example: Code DIN 51524 HLP 46 identifies hydraulic oil for heavy-duty hydrostatic systems, viscosity of 46 mm 2 /s at 40 C (10 %).

In practice, the products are more often classified by the so-called consistence degrees (grades) included in the identification code of each grease. The determination of the lubricant consistence is based on its penetration (in fact hardness rate) that can be exactly measured. The following table shows relation between penetration and consistence and also character (appearance) of greases of the respective consistence. In practise, soft greases of the grades 000, 00, 0 and 1 are usually used for lubrication of geared transmissions or for central lubricating systems with long transport routes (oil pipelines), the lubricants of the consistence 2, 3 and 4 are used for lubrication of anti-friction and friction bearings, and products with higher consistence are suitable as sealing (or lubricating) agents for labyrinth- or other seals, cocks, valves etc. Determination of cone penetration ČSN 656307 Penetration of grease at 250 C (1/10 mm) Consistence degree grease consistence (appearance) 445-475 000 Liquid 400-430 00 Semiliquid 355-385 0 Very soft 310-340 1 Softá 265-295 2 Semisoft 220-250 3 Medium 175-205 4 emisolid 130-160 5 Solid 85-115 6 Very solid

KLASSIFICATION OF LUBRICANTS AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE LUBRICANTS MADE BY PARAMO a.s. TO CATEGORIES AND CLASSES 46 Performance classification ISO 6743/9 This classification system ISO-L-X (X identifies the product category greases) characterizes each grease by means of four code letters and a figure, which indicates the lubricant consistence. The letters describe important application properties of each classified product the first letter indicates the lower limit of its usability temperature range, the second letter the upper limit, the third letter characterizes the lubricant resistance against water and its anti-rust protection level and finally the fourth symbol indicates presence/absence of high-pressure (EP) additives. Example: Code of the grease ISO-L-X-BCGB 2 identifies grease usable in the temperature range from 20 C (B) to 120 C (C), with good water-resistance but with a low level of anti-rust protection (G), it is improved with high-pressure (EP) additives (B) and has a consistence of 2. DIN Classification Rheological properties of greases ( viscosity sorting) The classification and sorting system is entirely identical with what has been said in the previous paragraph for ISO classification. Performance classification DIN 51 502 The grease classification system is specified in DIN 51 502 and other standards. Greases are divided into four basic application groups. Symbol (letter) K identifies multipurpose lubricants for anti-friction bearings, friction bearings and slideways (DIN 51 825), G identifies lubricants for closed gears (DIN 51 826), OG grease for open gear sets and M indicates lubricants for friction bearings and seals. Additional letters in the code identify potential presence of solid lubricants (F), type of the base oil (only in the case of synthetic oils), the figure indicates the lubricant consistence, the following letter symbol characterizes the upper limit of usability temperature range of the product and its water-resistance and finally the last figure directly specifies the lower temperature limit of usability. Example: Code of the grease K HC 2 G 40 identifies multipurpose lubricant (K) of the consistence degree 2, manufactured from synthetic (polyalpha-olefin) oil (HC), which can be used in the temperature range 40 to 100 C and which resists the action of water very well (G) ASSIGNMENT OF THE MAIN PRODUCTS BY A.S. PARAMO TO CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS AND CLASSES In efforts to help our customers, a.s. PARAMO provides the classification according to the international classification systems for most of the supplied products. The following tables summarize these data for the key products from the offer in the sequence motor oils, gear oils, industrial oils, greases. It should be remarked that the classification, in particular in the categories of industrial oils and greases, might be only approximate, therefore it is always recommendable to consult any considerations about application of the individual lubricant with the staff of the OTS Department of Paramo a.s. The values in the following tables may have only temporary validity due to the continuing development and innovation of lubricants. Changes in end use properties of the oils and greases (and related assignment to the applicable classification systems) are possible and will be published in due time.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEADLING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS 52 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS Petroleum products are more or less complicated homogeneous mixtures of hydrocarbons or also other chemical compounds (additives), which are used to reach the required properties of the product. Most petroleum products are flammable substances and some of them may form an explosive mixture with air (e.g. gasoline). Petroleum products may have more or less adverse effects on humans and other living organisms. Moreover, they are low biodegradable and so there is a risk of contamination of the environment in case of their leakage. Therefore, all workers handling petroleum products must be informed about the instructions related to occupational safety and health protection as well as environmental protection. The following paragraphs contain brief general instructions related to this issue. Detailed instructions are included in the company standards and material safety data sheets, related standards, directives of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of the Environment and Act. No. 157/98 Coll. And amendments on chemical substances and chemical preparations. w w w. p a r a m o. c z

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEADLING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS 53 Potential Health Risks Petroleum products can enter the living organism via inhalation, swallowing or through the mucous membranes, and also through contaminated skin. The degree of danger depends on the specific type. Gasoline contains some aromatic hydrocarbons, of which benzene has serious adverse biological effects. When handling gasoline, it is necessary to take technical measures to ensure that the concentrations in the working environment comply with the prescribed average and limit values. Gasoline tends to dehydrate the skin, reduce its resistance and irritate it. Prolonged inhalation of gasoline vapours or exposure to higher concentrations may have narcotic effects; may cause spasms or death. Kerosene has similar effects on the skin and respiratory system as gasoline. Due to its lower volatility it is less irritating than gasoline at the same temperature. Petroleum oils and plastic lubricants are produced in a wide range of grades. They differ in base oils, processing technology and content of additives and therefore, their biological effects may vary; but generally they are less distinctive than the effects of liquid fuels and white products. Petroleum lubricants, with the exception of oil jellies, are more or less irritating to the skin. Lowrefined petroleum oils with a higher content of aromatic compounds (such as dark oils) are more irritating. Protective Aids If possible, intensive contact of petroleum products with the skin should be avoided. When handling gasoline and kerosene, wear appropriate protective means, such as gloves, apron, goggles etc. made of materials that these products do not penetrate or dissolve. At the same time, it must be ensured that the maximum admissible air concentration of pollutants in the working environment is not exceeded. If handling oils and plastic lubricants, if feasible, wear oil-resistant gloves or apply suitable barrier creams, avoid splashing of the oil or forming aerosol by pressurizing and exhausting the working process. Do not use rags contaminated with oil or metal splinters from cutting for wiping the skin in order to avoid damaging it, also it is not recommended to wash hands in the cutting emulsion (risk of infection in case of bacteria pollution of the emulsion). Hygiene When handling petroleum products, you should not eat, drink or smoke. After completing the work, wash the skin with nonirritant washing agents and apply suitable skin-care cream. The work clothing, including underwear, if contaminated with oil, must be changed. Observance of personal hygiene principles is essential for health protection. Handling Petroleum Products In the case of products of the hazard class I and II according to ČSN 65 0201 (ignition point up to 55 C), it is necessary to avoid generation of static electricity, to use special tools (non-sparking) and to ensure continuous ventilation when handling them. No open flame and incandescent materials or exposure to other ignition sources. Storage Products of the hazard class I and II, where danger of formation of an explosive mixture with the air exists, must be stored in well-ventilated places with non-explosive electrical equipment. The containers must be tightly closed. Products of the hazard class III and IV do not require special fire prevention measures, only closer attention when they must be heated. First Aid Contact with eyes rinse with mild water flow for 10 to 15 minutes Contact with skin remove contaminated clothing and wash the skin with water and soap Ingestion give the victim at least 250 ml of lukewarm water or milk with dissolved charcoal pills to drink. Do not induce vomiting! If the victim is unconscious or convulsing, never give anything by mouth. nhalation remove the victim to the fresh air, if necessary, apply artificial respiration Generally, whenever serious damage to health due to action of petroleum products occurs, medical help must be called immediately.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEADLING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS 54 Fire-Fighting Measures Suitable extinguishing media are carbon dioxide, air foam and chemical powders, or in an emergency also sand or soil. Accidental Release Measures In the case of products of the hazard class I and II, ensure adequate ventilation, switch off electrical equipment and remove all sources of ignition. All petroleum products must be prevented from entering drains, surface water and soil. To clean up the spillage use suitable absorption materials that must be subsequently disposed of in a manner dependent on the type of absorbed substance. Disposal of Used Products and Packages The used product may be returned for recycling or disposed of in a safe way. Vegetable-based lubricants must be incinerated (may not be taken back). Aqueous cutting emulsions are disposed of e.g. by the standard two-phase method. Oil from the broken emulsion is incinerated. By no means may the used petroleum products or even biodegradable products, liquid fuels, lubricants, emulsions or aqueous solutions be discharged into drains! Disposal of the packaging should be contracted with a specialized organization. The same applies to disposal of the used petroleum products.
