High Availability Considerations 1.3.1 Cold Failover Clusters Failover clusters use a two or more node hardware cluster for failover. Failover is the process by which the hardware clusters automatically relocate the execution of an application from a failed primary node to a designated standby node. The primary node is the processor that is actively executing one or more content management services at any given time. If the primary node fails, the hardware cluster automatically fails the content management services over to the standby node. When using cold failover clusters, ten days of failover per calendar year are included in the license for the primary node. If you use more than ten days of failover per calendar year, additional server licenses are required for the standby nodes. Cold Failover Cluster licensing applies to: Oracle Content Conversion Server Oracle Distributed Document Capture Oracle Document Capture Oracle E-Business Suite Adapter for Enterprise Content Oracle E-Mail Archive Service Oracle Enterprise Content Suite Oracle Forms Recognition Oracle Imaging and Process Oracle Information Rights Oracle Universal Content Oracle Universal Online Archive Adapter for EMC Documentum Adapter for File Systems Adapter for FileNet Adapter for Java Adapter for Microsoft.Net Adapter for Microsoft SharePoint Adapter for Symantec Enterprise Vault PeopleSoft Adapter for Enterprise Content Siebel Adapter for Enterprise Content 1-10 Licensing Information
