Energy Efficiency Verified Eco-design ErP and Power Consumption Testing Services CSXXXXX Integrate environmental aspects since the design phase of a product The Eco-design Directive 2009/125/EC for Energy-related Products (ErP), replacing 2005/32/EC for Energy-using Products (EuP) to extend the application scope, went into effect on November 20, 2009. All regulated products are required to disclose product life cycle impact assessment per the complementary implementing measures to improve product performance. Per the Directive, the products must have the declaration of conformity when being labeled with CE marking. EuP requirements can be fulfilled upon methods of EuP conformity through internal design control (Annex IV) or management system (Annex V). The implementing measures set forth detailed power consumption standards for electrical and electronic products. In addition, many other countries have their own power reduction programs as well to enhance energy efficiency and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
