儿 童 诗 歌 Children s Songs and Rhymes (Book One)

Learning Through Songs and Nursery Rhymes An innovative way of learning Chinese Content Foreword Children can learn a language best when what they re learning is both fun and interesting. A method of learning through songs and poetry followed by role-playing and dialogue utilizing the songs is a powerful way of developing phonemic awareness, expanding vocabulary, mastering difficult sounds, and gaining fluency with ease and pleasure. Many of the traditional Chinese folk songs and rhymes in this collection have been sung for generations, each of them designed to immerse children in language containing rhythm, rhyme, and repetition. The rhymes and songs allow for a greater ease of word memorization and help create a natural flow of language that leads to fluency. The traditional Chinese folk songs and nursery rhymes also contain expressions and stories about history and culture. They re educational and also interesting and therefore it s easier for children to learn it. This enables children to learn Chinese without tedious exertion and instead with much enthusiasm! Learning through Songs and Nursery Rhymes is an anthology that contains a total of 140 children s songs and rhymes in Chinese. They are arranged in three levels based on their length, complexity of verse, and complexity of vocabulary. There are 20 songs and rhymes in each book with over a hundred high frequency words in each book. All of the songs and nursery rhymes have been translated into English and placed alongside pinyin. Following each song or rhyme, children will focus on a few common and key words or phrases from each song or rhyme. The class work and homework will further expand on the content to reinforce the language learning process and reach the full understanding.. 1. 你 好 How are You 2. 爱 Love 3. 我 爱 我 家 I Love My Family 4. 妈 妈 早 Good Morning Mom 5. 起 得 早 Get Up Early 6. 我 的 好 妈 妈 My Mom 7. 丢 手 绢 Handkerchief 8. 找 朋 友 Looking for a Friend 9. 五 指 歌 Fingers 10. 身 体 部 位 Song of the Body Parts 11. 两 只 老 虎 Two Tigers 12. 我 的 小 小 手 My Little Hands 13. 我 是 好 宝 宝 I am a Good Child 14. 大 象 A Big Elephant 15. 我 是 个 大 苹 果 I Am a Big Apple 16. 吃 果 果 Eat Fruits 17. 小 老 鼠 上 灯 台 A Little Mouse 18. 小 白 兔 A Little Rabbit 19. 生 日 快 乐 Happy Birthday 20. 新 年 好 Happy New Year Mrs. W.
