The University Foundation Programme The University Foundation Programme (UFP) is an intensive course that offers you an entry route to UK undergraduate degree courses at almost all UK Universities. Here at UFP we are on hand You can choose to stay in a college residence with other students or in a local family homestay. College Residences All residences in both London and Bath are extremely well equipped. Bedrooms are well furnished, centrally heated and well maintained. The houses have a communal kitchen, dining and living area with en-suite options also available. All residences have Wi-Fi and some have an on-site Warden for extra peace of mind for younger students and their parents. Business and Finance UFP Engineering and Computing UFP Law, Humanities and Social Sciences UFP Pharmacy and Medical Sciences UFP Term 1 During the 1st term, you will study the Core Minor Modules to provide you with the fundamental skills needed for any academic programme at university level. Mathematics You will study both Pure Maths and Statistics (If you choose to study the Law, Humanities and Social Science UFP then you will study Intermediate Maths). Information Technology You will learn how to use word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. Communication Skills / IELTS preparation. You will develop your study skills, including effective reading methods and essay-writing techniques. You will also improve your oral communication skills with a focus on presentation, public speaking and group discussion. Terms 2 & 3 During the 2nd and 3rd term you will choose 3 Major Modules, which are relevant to your intended degree course. It is an ideal way to ensure you get the best grades possible and progress to one of the highest-ranking universities. You can start the Extended UFP in July or September before joining the mainstream UFP in September or January. During this additional term you can study English Language, Maths, Art & Design, or a combination of these subjects. This extra term will allow you to join the mainstream introduction to studying in the UK.
Engineering and Computing UFP The Engineering and Computing UFP is one of our most popular courses and the modules on offer will equip you with the required skills for top undergraduate degree courses. You will develop advanced mathematical skills, a broad knowledge of advanced physics, as well as practical skills and a diagnostic approach towards problem solving. Architecture, Art and Design UFP The Architecture, Art and Design UFP is a one-year intensive studio-based course, aimed at preparing students for degree level studies in a wide range of subjects. Taught by practising artists and designers, the course provides you with a broad practical and theoretical introduction to Art and Design. Small class sizes ensure that you receive the high level of individual attention necessary to maximize your potential. The course makes full use of both London and Bath s rich cultural resources, employing study visits to museums, galleries and architectural sites to develop your understanding of the subject. The programme is designed to enable you to produce a successful undergraduate application. During the year you will regularly be required to present and discuss your work. In general, we expect you to have completed secondary education and achieved a level of English Language equivalent to IELTS 5.5 / PTE 51.
