What are the benefits of AIG Corporate Business Travel? We will provide 24-hour worldwide protection for yourself and all your employees between the age of 17 and 80 years old whenever they travel overseas on a bona fide business trip authorized by your company. Each trip, not exceeding 180 consecutive days, is covered including personal deviations during and/or immediately before / after the authorized business trip. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE a. CHINA Assist Card Our CHINA Assist Card, approved by over 200 high quality hospitals in China, enables your covered employee to receive medical treatment without any delay when he / she presents this card in the designated hospitals. Besides, we can arrange emergency cash transfer services as well as 24-hour legal advice backed by the China Law Office. b. Emergency Medical Evacuation We will provide en-route medical care and transportation when it is medically necessary to move the covered employee to another location for appropriate medical treatment. c. Repatriation of Remains We will coordinate the necessary arrangement for the return of the covered employees deceased remains to his/her place of residence or place of regular employment. d. Free 24-hour Telephone Assistance Services Travel Guard will provide a cashless in-patient hospitalization and 24-hour emergency hotline services by our multi-language capability to facilitate communication with your employee, and /or his / her family members in case of emergency, as well as with any medical providers. 2. MEDICAL AND PERSONAL ACCIDENT a. Medical Expenses (Accident & Sickness) We will cover medical expenses incurred as a result of injury or sickness which occur during the course of the bona fide business trip, including follow up medical expenses upon return from the business trip. b. Personal Accident i. Common Carrier In the event of death or disablement as a result of injury sustained while the covered employees are riding as a fare paying passenger in a public common carrier, the indemnity of lump sum cash amount is subject to the plan selected. ii. Other Accidents In the event of death or disablement other than (bi) indicated above as a result of injury sustained during the bona fide business trip, the indemnity of lump sum cash amount is subject to the plan selected. c. Second and Third degree burns If the covered employee suffers Second and Third Degree Burns due to accident during the business trip, the indemnity of lump sum cash amount is subject to the plan selected. d. Hospital Confinement Income We will pay HK$500 per day during an unforeseen hospitalization resulting from injury or sickness during the course of the bona fide business trip. AIG Pg. 2 of 8 02/2012
3. TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE a. Trip Cancellation We will pay the travel and/or accommodation expenses paid in advance for the loss arising within 30 days before the commencement of a Business Trip from (a) sudden occurrence of natural disasters, riot, civil commotion or strike at the planned destination; (b) death, serious sickness or serious injury occurring to the covered employee, his/her Immediate Family Member or business partner; (c) witness summons, jury service or compulsory quarantine of the covered employee; (d) serious damage to the covered employee s principal residence from natural disasters within 1 week from the departure date which requires his/her presence on the premises on the departure date and the maximum amount payable is subject to the plan selected. b. Curtailment Expenses We will pay for pro-rata unused and additional travel and accommodation expenses for the loss arising from (a) natural disasters, riot and civil commotion or strike at the planned destination; (b) death, serious sickness or serious injury occurring to the covered employee, his/her Immediate Family Member, travel companion or close business partner and the maximum amount payable is subject to the plan selected. c. Replacement Staff / Family Compassionate Visit We will pay for the reasonable hotel accommodation and traveling expenses necessarily incurred by one Replacement Staff or one of the covered employee s Immediate Family Members to travel to the place where the covered employee is seriously injured or ill, or has suffered loss of life and the maximum amount payable is subject to the plan selected. d. Baggage Delay We will pay HK$500 cash and actual expenses incurred for the emergency purchases of essential items or clothing after 5 hours continuous delay of accompanied baggage by the airline. e. Travel Delay and Re-route We will pay HK$300 for each consecutive full 5-hours (departure and arrival) delay up to max. HK$4,000 and actual expenses for re-route due to the cancellation of the public common carrier as a consequence of unforeseen strike, industrial action, riot and civil commotion, hijack, adverse weather condition, natural disaster or mechanical derangement of it. f. Loss of travel Documents We will pay for the replacement cost of the lost travel documents and additional travel and accommodation expenses incurred and the maximum amount payable is subject to the plan selected. 4. PERSONAL BELONGINGS a. Baggage & Personal Effects We will cover the loss of or damage to accompanied baggage, clothing or personal effects. Coverage shall be limited to HK$3,000 for any one item/set/pair; for sports equipment, the maximum limit is HK$5,000; for lap-top computer, the maximum limit is HK$10,000. b. Personal Money We will cover the loss of money on cash, bank or currency notes, traveler s cheque and money order as a result of theft, robbery or burglary during the trip and the maximum amount payable is subject to the plan selected. 5. LIABILITY a. Personal Liability We will pay for the legal liability to a third party and the relevant legal costs or expenses up to the limit selected as a result of accidental injury, loss or damage to the property during the bona fide business trip. This does not include the use or hire of any vehicles, aircraft, watercraft or firearms and the maximum amount payable is subject to the plan selected. 6. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS a. Credit card Protection In the event of accidental death in the business trip, we will pay the outstanding balance of the covered employee s credit card charges. b. Loss of Home Contents We will pay the loss of or damage to household contents due to burglary while the covered employee s home is unoccupied during the period of his/her business trip. c. Child Guard We will pay for the traveling expenses for the return of any accompanying children back to the Stationed Location if the covered employee is confined in an overseas hospital due to serious injury or sickness. d. Trauma counseling If insured person witnesses &/or is the victim of a traumatic event such as rape, armed hold up, assault, natural disaster or acts of terrorism, we will reimburse the cost of trauma counseling which is recommended by the Insured person s physician. e. Rehabilitation And Mobility If an insured person sustains bodily injury during the business trip which requires orthoses( supporting instrument), prostheses (artificial limb) or requires to renovate the existing residence, we will reimburse the actual expenses incurred for such equipment and the installation f. Coma We shall pay a weekly benefit if an insured person sustains injury during the business trip which directly causes or results in a continuous unconscious state and under the regular care and attendance of a physician. The statements in the enrollment form and the information received by the Company as to the employee s subsequent changes shall form a part of this application, and shall be the basis for underwriting thereof. 2. All individuals, for whom an application for insurance is submitted, or may be submitted during the continuance of the policy, shall be the full-time salaried employees working for the applicant. 3. If there is any untruth in furnishing the application or any other statement in connection with the insurance on the employees, the Company has the right to reject all claims for the amounts insured. 4. I/We hereby agree and undertake to settle any medical expenses that is not payable or not covered by this insurance or any amount in excess of the insurance limit within 14 days after receiving the written notification from the Company. The credit facility will be suspended if I/We fail to reimburse the Company within the above the time limit. Upon suspension, I/We have to return all CHINA Assist Cards to the Company and will remain liable to the Company for any outstanding payment in arrears. In the event of loss of CHINA Assist Card, the covered employee should advise the company within 48 hours and pay HK$30 for each replacement card. 5. I/We hereby understand that the arrangement for emergency cash transfer is subject to Travel Guard first securing payment from us. 6.
