Student Application Deadline is February 18, 2011 The Graduate Student Internship Program (GSIP) provides technical assistance to state and localities while offering graduate students handson training in maternal and child health epidemiology. For over 10 years, GSIP interns have had the opportunity to work with health agencies across the country to address specific, defined data or analytic issues with the aim of developing or enhancing MCH and Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) information systems. This brochure includes a brief synopsis of the 27 GSIP summer internships available in 2011. All internships fall into the following three focus areas: Data Analysis and Monitoring Needs Assessment Program Evaluation We are now accepting applications. Please visit our site www.mchb.hrsa.gov/mchirc/gsip to view the full GSIP catalog of internships and apply online. Students may select up to three positions of interest. Qualified students will be matched with appropriate opportunities regardless of student or location. Deadline The submission deadline for student applications is February 18th, 2011. Matches will be announced beginning in March of 2011. Through this internship experience, I was able to merge together what I have learned in my public health program and my interests in the maternal and child health field. I also gained practical skills that I will be able to carry over into future employment and education. -2010 GSIP Intern Eligibility Master s and doctoral degree candidates in U.S. schools of public health (accredited by the Council of Education for Public Health) are qualified to apply.
