Miracle bust out season-best 18 hits in 7-3 win over Crabs After winning six of the first seven games, the Fort Myers Miracle dropped three straight to the St. Lucie Mets at Tradtion Field from April 11-13. Mustering only two hits in the series finale with the Mets on Sunday, the Miracle offense unloaded in Fort Myers first trip to Charlotte Sports Park on Monday. Pushing across seven runs and totaling 18 hits against the Stone Crabs, the Miracle snapped the three-game skid with a 7-3 win. Upcoming Schedule April 17 vs. St. Lucie Mets 7:05 p.m. - Hammond Stadium Probable Starters FTM - Brett Lee (1-0) 3.09 ERA STL - Steven Matz (0-1) 3.27 ERA Five members of the Miracle starting lineup registered multi-hit games including a 5-for-5 hit night from Travis Harrison. Entering the game just 5-for-30 (.167) on the season, Harrison bumped his average 119 points to.286 with four singles and a double. Travis also scored two runs and knocked in another. Levi Michael went 4-for-5 with a RBI and crossed home plate twice. Dalton Hicks was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI. Niko Goodrum and Jorge Polanco each had two hits. Wimmers twirls gem in first start of 2014 On April 9, Alex Wimmers pitched a solid 3.2 innings in relief against the Stone Crabs to earn a victory in his first appearance of the season. Five days later, Wimmers faced the same Charlotte lineup and was nearly unhittable. After yielding a squib double to the lead off man Tommy Coyle, Wimmers retired 18 consecutive hitters before exiting the game. Going six scoreless frames, Wimmers issued no walks and struck out six while facing one over the minimum. A first round pick in 2010, Wimmers had been limited to just eight games in the last two seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2012. Polanco a hit factory and on-base machine early Boasting a.364 batting average in 12 games, Jorge Polanco has been a difficult out for opposing teams in the early part of the season. 16-for-44 at the dish, Polanco leads the team in hits (16), runs (11), walks (9) and onbase percentage at a whopping.481. Jorge is tied for second on the team in doubles (4). A switch-hitter, Polanco has seen more action from the left side and hit.351 (13-for-37). From the right side, in limited action, Polanco is 3-for-7 (.429). Michael making the most of third year in FSL A first round draft pick in 2011, Levi Michael was on the Opening Day roster for the third consecutive year. A new, aggressive approach has helped Levi get off to a fast start at the plate. Currently on a six-game hitting streak, Michael is 15-for-39 (.385) to start the season with an on-base percentage of.419. Michael has seven hits in his last nine at-bats and has reached base in nine of his last 11 plate appearances.
