CAwasappliedtoanIndividualsVariablestable,whichwasacommonpracticeatthe time,whentheuseofmcawasnotyetdeveloped.thechoiceofactiveandsupplementary variableswassubtle:questionsonalargenumberoftastesandculturalpracticeswere takenasactivevariables;socio-demographicandoccupationalinformationwereusedas supplementaryelements;intherstpublication,theywereguredonatransparentwhich couldbesuperposedtotherstprincipalplanresultingfromtheca.thistechniqueof visualizationgivesanintuitionofthesociologicalrelationsbetweenthespaceoftastes (lifestyles)andthespaceofsocialpositions.
