LET S GET STARTED! How Do I Gather Leads and Make Sales Via A Live Event? Introduction This system allows you to use ONTRAPORT Tasks to easily assign and track the completion of external actions that require human interaction such as calls, paperwork completion, etc. To Do List 1. Create an SMS Number 2. Create an Order Form 3. Create A Sequence 4. Create A Global Rule

STEP 1 Create An SMS Number When putting on a live event, it s important to have a quick way for your viewers to opt-in to your system. SMS Messages allow your viewers to send a quick text without having to go through an opt-in form. Got it? Jump to Step Two

1. Go to your email address in the upper right corner and select Administration from the dropdown. 2. Under DATA, select SMS from the options.

3. Select Buy Number. Name your Number and select your country. Search your Area Code. If you are in a country outside of the U.S. reference the SMS Overview to learn more about our SMS policy. Then, click Search. 4. From the Available Number drop down, select the number you d like to use. Then select Buy Number to save. Your first number is free; additional numbers come with a fee. See the SMS Overview for more information.

5. To have clients opt-in during your live event have them text their Name then Email to your SMS Number. It must be in that order, as shown below, on the same line:

STEP 2 Create an Order Form You have now directed you clients to opt in via your new SMS Number. Now it s time to create a sales funnel for your new leads! Got it? Jump to Step Three

1. In the Navigation Bar, select Contacts> Smart Forms. 2. Click the New Smart Form button.

3. Select the Sell Products option. Your form will expand into an Order Form template. Select the Products Field. 4. An Add Product window will open. You can now create a new product and set the price and how you would like your customers to pay for your product (i.e. via one-time payment, payment plan, add a trial period, or through a subscription) and other product qualities, such as delivery, tax, and quantity options. Save by clicking Done.

5. Select Add payment method from the Field Settings menu on the left. Then, select your preferred gateway from the dropdown. 6. Make any further edits or customization to your Order Form. In the upper right hand corner, select Publish Form. Click the Host my form link, copy and paste the link to your notepad, then click Save!

STEP 3 Create A Follow Up Sequence You have the leads and way to make a sale, now we need to follow up with the proper information and thank you. Got it? Jump to Step Four

1. Go to Contacts> Sequences. Select New Sequence. Select Create New under Step Sequence. 2. Name your Sequence. Select Add SMS Step. From the Message drop down, select Create New Message. Name your Message and click Save and Edit.

3. Create a short Message to thank your viewers for opting in. Select Merge Fields from the drop down to personalize your Message and Save. 4. Select the SMS number you just created under the From number drop down. Compress your step using the arrow on the right hand side. Click the Email button to create the next step.

5. Schedule your Message to go out when you d like. In this example we will create an email sent Immediately (as soon as the prior step in the sequence is completed.) Select Create New Message from the Message drop down. 6. Name your Message and select Save and Edit.

7. Select the type of Email you would like to create. For our example we will use the general Email Editor. Chose from whom this Message should be sent. Then, give your Message a subject. 8. Draft your Message content. Keep in mind that you will be linking your contacts to your Order Form via a hyperlink. To hyperlink your text, select the text you would like to link, then the link button in the editor.

10. Place your link in the URL field, then select OK. 11. Review your Message and Save. You will be brought back to your Sequence. Review all other steps and Save!

STEP 4 Create A Global Rule You have all the pieces! The SMS Number, the Sequence, the Form, and now all you have to do is get everyone subscribed. This Global Rule will help to automate following up with your new leads!

1. In the Navigation Bar, select Contacts> Rules. Click the New Rule button. 2. Name your Rule. Under WHEN THIS HAPPENS, select SMS Received from Contact, and chose your SMS number from the dropdown. Then, from THEN DO THIS, select Add Contact to Sequence and chose your event follow up Sequence from the dropdown. Save your Rule! Done!
