Children s Service Award 2010 Effective from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2014 (Please read important information overleaf)

Page 2 This pay table sets out the rates of pay and allowances that will apply from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2014. These rates of pay have increased due to the 2014 federal minimum wage increase. Transitional Provisions: Please note that transitional provisions for rates of pay, loadings and penalty rates cease to apply from 30 June 2014. From 1 July 2014, rates of pay, loadings and penalty rates in the Modern Children s Services Award apply in full. There were a number of pre-modern awards in NSW, Tasmania and WA such as: Miscellaneous Workers - Kindergartens and Child Care Centres Award in NSW; Child Care and Childrens Services Award in Tasmania, where higher rates of pay were preserved by the operation of Clause A.3.7 of the modern award. While clause A.3.7 no longer applies, Jobs Australia recommends maintaining staff on their existing rates of pay to avoid reducing their take-home pay. This is because: Some employees may have a contractual entitlement to retain their current pay rates. The preservation of those higher rates is also currently subject to a union application to the Fair Work Commission. This may result in the higher transitional rates being preserved, as well as further potential increases from the equal remuneration case. Jobs Australia will keep members and subscribers up to date as this case develops. This pay table has been prepared based on information available from Fair Work Commission. The rates included in this document are intended to be used as a guide and may be subject to change. The rates have been prepared for general information purposes. No reader should act in complete reliance or fail to act on the basis of the rates contained within this document. Although every attempt has been made to verify the accuracy of the financial information, Jobs Australia excludes any liability for any loss or damage occasioned by any corporation, organisation, employer or person acting or failing to act as a result of any matter contained in this information guide.
