The Mission of CMAA is "To promote and enhance leadership, professionalism, and excellence in managing the development and construction of projects and programs." The Vision of CMAA is "to be the recognized authority in managing the development and construction of projects and programs". The Purpose of the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter s Scholarship Awards is to promote student involvement in the Chapter, and to reward students exhibiting genuine interest in the improvement of the construction management industry, as demonstrated in their studies and statements of short and long-term goals. ELIGIBILITY 1. Applicant must be enrolled in a Bachelor s or Master s degree program with construction specialization at a California college/university located in San Diego County or Imperial County. 2. Applicant must have full-time enrollment for the 2015 2016 academic year (part-time students are not eligible for awards) 3. Applicant must maintain a 2.5 GPA. REQUIREMENTS 1. Applications must be submitted in hardcopy/original format. E-mail in PDF format is acceptable as a supplement but not in lieu of the required hardcopy. PDF file should be e-mailed to Scholarship Chair by date required. Fax submissions will not be considered. 2. Applicant is responsible for ensuring that all items listed below are contained in one (1) package (envelope) and are post-marked by the US Postal Service on or before March 11 th, 2016. a) Completed and signed application b) Certified Grade Transcript or Degree Progress Report c) Recommendation Letter(s) d) Personal statement e) Proof of current enrollment 3. Applicant must be able to attend the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter s Awards Banquet and Scholarship Dinner between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on April 28, 2016, in San Diego. 4. Attention and consideration will be given to participation and/or involvement in a Student Chapter of CMAA; enrollment in the CMIT program, participation in CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter events and other extracurricular activities, reference(s); applicant s expressed interest in construction management, and GPA. AWARDS 1. Scholarship awards can range in value from $1,000 - $3,500 (or at the discretion of the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter Student Scholarship Committee). 2. Applications will be reviewed and winners selected by the CMAA San Diego Regional Chapter Student Scholarship Committee. 3. Winner(s) will be notified by mail, e-mail, or phone by April 11, 2016. 4. Award(s) will be announced at the CMAA San Diego Chapter Scholarship and Industry Awards Banquet on April 28, 2016 in San Diego. Checks will be distributed by mail the following week for security purposes. 2

Include information about: Your career objective How you and the construction management industry can benefit each other Your most important extracurricular activity Statement should not exceed 500 words or (2) pages.
