FLANTRADE INVESTMENTS CC & BRIAN FLANAGAN Detailed herein is a summary of the background and activities of Flantrade Investments (Flantrade) and the services the company provides, as well as short CV of Brian Flanagan. FLANTRADE The company was established in 1998. Brian Flanagan owns and manages the company. The focus of its business activities is to provide a comprehensive management service to individual fishing right holders, fishing associations and vessel owners. Further to the above-mentioned activities, Flantrade provides comprehensive advice to persons/companies wanting to invest or are active in the fishing industry. FLANTRADE SERVICES Brian Flanagan & his team are overall responsible for the management services provided by Flantrade.

FLANTRADE CURRENT OPERATIONS Flantrade, through Brian Flanagan or companies he in association with, is active in the following fishing operations: RUWEKUS FISHING (PTY) LTD, comprising 4 shareholders, is a right holder of South Coast Rock Lobster. The company is the owner of a deep-water longline lobster vessel, the MFV Rigel 4 that is active in the catching and processing of South Coast Rock Lobster. Flantrade is responsible for providing management services to the company including the marketing & selling of the lobster in the US markets. ORAFCO LTD, the owner of the deepwater trawler, the MFV Nikko Maru No. 1. This vessel is active in the Indian Ocean Orange Roughy and Alfonsino fishery. Flantrade, jointly with representative from Taiyo Fishing Japan manages the vessel operations. PATFISH J/V, a company with five shareholders; Arniston Fish Processors (Pty) Ltd, Bato Star Fishing (Pty) Ltd, Irvin & Johnson Ltd, Suidor Fishing (Pty) Ltd & Braxton Security Services CC t/a Braxton Shipping, the first four companies are holders of South African Patagonian Toothfish fishing rights. The company is the owner of the longline Toothfish vessel, the MFV El Shaddai. This vessel is active in the toothfish fishery in the Prince Edward Islands. Brian Flanagan is the appointed representative for the 4 fishing right holders serving on the J/V Management Board.

OCEANA PARAGON, a J/V with five members (Arniston Fish Processors (Pty) Ltd, Oceana Brands Ltd, H.S.Williams Fishing CC, Sinethemba Fishing CC & Stamatis Fishing CC). The J/V is the owners of the vessel, the MFV Oceana Paragon. This vessel is active in the catching of pilchards and anchovy. The fish are either canned or processed into fishmeal. Flanagan, a shareholder in Arniston Fish Processors (Pty) Ltd, is a member of the Joint Venture Operating Board. BRIAN FLANAGAN (A SHORT CV) Born 1951, joined Sea Fisheries Research Institute in 1970 having spent the previous year in the South African Navy doing compulsory military service. Obtained a Diploma in Oceanography 1973, thereafter joined Irvin & Johnson serving some 10 years (Fleet Factory Manager & Fishing Manager), attended University of Stellenbosch, obtaining a MBA in 1985 & joined Atlantic Fishing Group as General Manager in 1986. The Premier Group purchased this company; he served as a Director from 1992 to 1998. Founded Flantrade Investments CC in 1998 and has since developed a number of interests in various fisheries & provided a secretariat service to fishing industry associations.
