FAQ s for Candidates Applying to MBA Program at IMT Dubai Q1. What are the criteria of getting into IMT Dubai? Candidate needs to have satisfactory academic record with three year full-time undergraduate degree (Bachelor s degree) from an accredited university with a CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 50% and above. English Proficiency Test Score i.e IELTS/TOEFL/PTEA is compulsory. The test score needs to be submitted before going to IMT Dubai in case admitted. Eligible candidates have to undergo written communication test and Personal Interview. The personal interview is a major component of the selection process, used to evaluate the applicant s aptitude, motivation and suitability for the program. Q2. How to fill the application form for IMT Dubai? Application form for Indian Candidates is available online at: http://www.imt.edu/admissions/imtdubaiadmission.aspx Application form for Candidates residing outside India (Non-Indian Residents) is available online at http://www.imtdubai.ac.ae/admission/ Q3. At this point in time, am I supposed to mail my application form along with documents to IMT Dubai? You are not required to submit documents at the point of application form filling process. Documents need to be submitted only at the time of interview. Q4. What all documents do I need to carry at the time of Interview? 1. Original Testimonials and passing certificates/degree of 10 th, 12 th and Graduation 2. Original IELTS/TOEFL/PTE score card (If available). 3. Original CAT/GMAT score card (If available). 4. Original work experience certificate(s) (If applicable). *Carry one photocopy of all the above mentioned documents as well. Q5. When will 2 years MBA session commence? Session will commence in August, 2015. Q6. Does IMT Dubai have any scholarship opportunity for MBA Program? Yes, to encourage bright students, IMT Dubai has an attractive scholarship program. Students with good CAT or GMAT scores are eligible for scholarship only for 1 st Semester tuition fee as per details below:
MBA Scholarships CAT based Scholarships CAT based Scholarships will be given on the 1st semester s tuition fee as per the below table on the basis of the overall percentile: Overall Percentile Scholarship 75-79.9% 25% fee waiver 80-89.9% 50% fee waiver 90% and above 100% fee waiver CAT scores should not be more than 1 year old. GMAT based Scholarships GMAT based Scholarships will be given on the 1st semester s tuition fee as per the below table on the basis of their overall percentile: Overall Percentile Scholarship 80-84.9% 25% fee waiver 85-94.9% 50% fee waiver 95% and above 100% fee waiver GMAT scores should not be more than 2 years old (valid for all tests taken between 1 st July 2013-31 st July 2015) Merit based scholarship Scholarships after 1st Semester and subsequent Semesters Students who score 3.7 CGPA or above in a Semester are eligible for 25% waiver of tuition in the next semester
Q7. Do I need to apply separately for Scholarship? If you have a valid CAT/GMAT score that lies in the eligibility range then you are automatically eligible for scholarship. You are only required to mail us the scan copy of score card along with application number at admissions-india@imtdubai.ac.ae. Q8. What is TOEFL/IELTS/PTE A? TOEFL/IELTS/ PTEAis the test of English Proficiency, which needs to be qualified by candidates to confirm their admission to MBA program at IMT Dubai. Candidate need to give either one of these tests and the minimum required score for TOEFL is 550 (paper based) and 79 (internet based) or 6.0 for IELTS or PTE A 57 Q9. I am educated in English medium school and college. Can TOEFL/IELTS/PTE A requirement be waived off for me? No. TOEFL/IELTS/PTE A test is designed to assess the language ability of non-native speakers of English Who intend to study where English is the language of communication. Dubai government also requires for all students studying in Dubai, who are non-native speakers of English, should qualify one of the English Proficiency Tests. Q10. What is the deadline for submitting TOEFL/IELTS/PTEA scores? You should submit your TOEFL/IELTS/PTE test scores before the commencement of program i.e before August,2015. Q11. Do I need to arrange visa on our own? Once you deposits the confirmation fee after selection, IMT Dubai will automatically initiate the process for your visa; the visa will be a Student Residence Visa, renewed every 1 year. Q12. When am I supposed to submit documents for visa process? Candidate will get welcome letter including all formalities related to visa and hostel only if candidate confirms the seat at IMT Dubai MBA program by submitting non-refundable confirmation fee of AED 6000. Q13. Can I stay outside campus? Candidates whose close blood relatives are staying in Dubai are only allowed to opt stay out off campus. Candidate who wish to stay outside campus are required to submit the residence proof of their relative staying in Dubai.
Q14. What if, I have not received final degree or certificate of Graduation? Candidates who are in their final year of graduation or awaiting their certificates need to submit a letter from their college/university stating the fact that their final degree is awaited. This letter needs to be submitted at the time of orientation in IMT Dubai, before class commences. All original documents/transcripts for 10 th, 12 th and graduation need to be submitted to IMT Dubai before 30 th September 2015. Q15. Will I need to Show any bank deposit to process my Visa? No. Q16. Is there a possibility of VISA being rejected? If yes, will the commitment fee be refunded? Visas can be rejected on two probable grounds, A) Health reasons as mandated by the UAE Visa/Immigration authorities B) Criminal offence or background. In such improbable cases of visa being rejected, the cost of visa processing will be deducted and the balance amount will be refunded. Q17. Does IMT Dubai have any tie-ups for education loan facility? We have tie ups with Central Bank of India and HDFC Credila subject to fulfilment of terms & conditions by the candidate. Candidate needs to directly approach the bank for the same. Q18. Does IMT Dubai provide Placements and Internship Support? We have an Office of Career Services for Placements and Office of Internship and Company Projects which look after student s internships and company projects requirements Q19. No. Candidate has to make payment at IMT Dubai either through wire transfer or by cheque in Dubai. Q21. If I will get selected, how much fee I need to pay to confirm my seat at IMT Dubai? If candidate gets selected, he will be asked to submit the confirmation fee of AED 6,000 within the time period mentioned in admission offer letter. Confirmation fee is the non-refundable amount which is adjusted towards your 1 st instalment fee. Q22. What is Wire Transfer? Wire transfer or credit transfer is a method of electronic funds transfer from one person or institution (entity) to another.
