Transferring to The University of New Mexico from NMSU-Doña Ana (2007-2008 Catalog) Revised 12/13/2007 The University of New Mexico and NMSU-Dona Ana work closely to ease your transition to UNM. This information is provided to assist you in planning a transfer program. Satisfactory completion (grade of "CR") in COLL 108, CCDE 110N, CCDM 113N, 114N, or 117N, and CCDS courses will satisfy UNM introductory requirements. These hours will not, however, transfer nor be counted toward any degree program because they are college preparatory courses. Contact specific UNM Advisement Centers for degree requirements and remain in close contact with your NMSU advisor. While UNM does not ordinarily transfer technical or occupational coursework, the College of Education developed a baccalaureate degree program in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies for students who have earned an associate of applied science degrees in certain fields. The program, which provides quality education for individuals interested in improving the learning experiences of adults in corporate settings, allows a maximum transfer of credits from approved technical disciplines in community colleges and post-secondary technical institutes. For additional information, contact the program director at 277-4131 or 277-4132. For the most current transfer information this guide is available on-line and updated as necessary; check the UNM website: www.unm.edu, click on Future Students and follow the links to How to Transfer to UNM. Unless otherwise indicated, the following courses, with a minimum grade of D, are fully transferable to UNM. (Some classes must be completed with a C grade in order to fulfill prerequisite or degree requirements.) Where applicable, courses are cross-listed with their UNM equivalents. In most situations where more than one course is required to meet the UNM equivalent, the excess transfer hours will be applied to general university electives. If there is no equivalent UNM course number listed, the class may or may not be applied toward core requirements or as elective credit in a degree program. Transfer courses that list University of New Mexico equivalencies have been approved by the departments offering the respective courses at UNM. Transferring courses that do not list UNM equivalencies may or may not satisfy specific degree requirements. You must check with department, college, or school advisors to see if these courses apply to your specific degree program. The provisions of this transfer guide are not to be regarded as an irrevocable contract between the student and the University. The University reserves the right to change any provisions or requirements at any time. 4 LETTER DISCIPLINES WITH 4 NUMBERS IN PARENTHESIS SIGNIFY THE NEW MEXICO COMMON CORE DISCIPLINE AND NUMBER (NMCCN) Revised 12/13/2007 NMSU-Doña Ana Course Accounting ACCT 251 Management Accounting MGMT 303 ACCT 252 Financial Accounting MGMT 202 Anthropology ANTH 120G Human Ancestors ANTH 150 ANTH 125G (ANTH 2113) Introduction to World Cultures ANTH 130 (ANTH 2113) ANTH 201G (ANTH 1113) Introduction to Anthropology ANTH 101 (ANTH 1113) ANTH 202G Introduction to Archaeology and Physical Anthropology Transfers Architecture ARCT 101 Introduction to Architecture ARCH 101 ARCT 104 Introduction to Architectural Drawing ARCH 104 ARCT 111 Architectural History I Early World Transfers as ARCH ARCT 115 General Construction Safety Transfers as ARCH ARCT 140 Architectural Drafting Transfers as ARCH ARCT 154 Architectural Design Studio I Transfers as ARCH ARCT 170 Computers in Architecture Transfers as ARCH ARCT 211 Architectural History II World Architecture ARCH 262 ARCT 254 Architectural Design Studio II Transfers as ARCH ARCT 255 Special Problems Transfers as ARCH ARCT 288 Portfolio Development Transfers as ARCH ARCT 290 Special Topics Transfers as ARCH ARCT 295 Professional Development and Leadership---AIAS Transfers as ARCH Art ART 101G (ARTS 1113) Orientation in Art ARTH 101 (ARTS 1013) ART 150 Drawing I ARTS 106
