ERNEST MARIO SCHOOL OF PHARMACY The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy accepts school-to-school transfers for the fall semester only. Students interested in applying for fall 2016 may submit a school-to-school transfer application online at this site between February 1, 2016 and March 30, 2016. Please review the following information to become familiar with the requirements for admission. The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy offers the six-year Doctor of Pharmacy degree. School-to-school transfer students are typically admitted into the third year of this program, referred to as the First Professional Year, after completing ALL of the pre-professional requirements of the first two years of the program. Students who will not have all the pre-professional coursework completed by the end of the spring semester will only be considered on a space-available basis. There are limited spaces available and admission is extremely competitive. The admission criteria listed are the minimum requirements and do not guarantee admission. 1. Criteria for Admission Credits Students must have completed a minimum of 15 credits at Rutgers by the end of the spring 2016 semester. Grade-Point Average Students should have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 with strong grades in the required core science courses. Stronger cumulative grade-point averages are preferred. Courses Students should have completed all of the coursework of the first two pre-professional years of the curriculum as listed at the link below by the end of the semester during which the application is submitted. Students with a strong academic record missing only one course will be considered on a space-available basis and should be registered for that course for the summer session. The organic chemistry sequence including lab must be completed by the end of the spring 2016 semester for admission, no exceptions. For details about course and other requirements for transferring into the

Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, please click on the link below. Variance from the recommended coursework may decrease your chances of admission. http://pharmacy.rutgers.edu/content/pcat_information Interview Promising students will be invited for an on-site interview as a required part of the application process. Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) The PCAT is required for all school-to-school transfer applicants. The PCAT is administered by Pearson Assessments. All requests for information concerning the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) need to be directed to the website located at http://pcatweb.info/. Please note that the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy does not administer the exam. Any questions you may have about the test, the test center, or the grading system for the test must be referred to Pearson Assessments. There are resources to help prepare you for the PCAT that can be found by searching the web or bookstores. The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy makes no recommendations about which resources to use. Because test results are not received for 4-6 weeks after the test date, applicants who are planning to take the PCAT are strongly advised to take the test during the November window. There is no bias against a student who takes the PCAT twice. The best score will be considered. Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS) The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy does NOT participate in PharmCAS. However, PharmCAS conduct violations are communicated to all schools and colleges of pharmacy in the US. Additional Information Used In Making Our Decisions Personal statement about why the student wishes to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. This statement may be submitted in the optional box provided in the online application. Letters of recommendation are optional but strongly encouraged. Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) results.

Advanced coursework and/or degree status. Other 2. Conditions Students must indicate on their applications if they are currently under review for disciplinary action. Students must remain in good academic standing at their current school and satisfactorily complete the spring semester. Any additional conditions will be noted in the notification message to admitted students. 3. Required Documents The University Registrar will automatically forward the applicant s Rutgers academic transcript to the school upon submission of the online application. Applicants must forward their final high school transcript, advanced placement score reports, transcripts from colleges or universities other than Rutgers (if applicable) to the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy s Office of Academic Services, Pharmacy Building, Room 102, Busch Campus, by March 30, 2016. Copies obtained from current college are acceptable. Students who have attended non-u.s. colleges or universities must have their academic records evaluated by a U.S.-based external credentials evaluation agency. PCAT scores from Pearson Letters of recommendation (optional) should be sent to the address above if you wish to have them considered. The optional personal statement may be sent electronically with the online application or by hard copy to the above address. 4. Graduation Requirements 5. College Contact Dean Donald Woodward, 848-445-6250. 6. Application Deadline/Procedures and Notification Schedule

Students interested in applying for admission to the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy must submit the school-to-school transfer online application no later than March 30, 2016. All additional paperwork and external transcripts must be received by this date. Applicants will receive notification of their admissions decision via email on or before June 30, 2016. 7. Orientation/Advising/Registration Information Newly admitted school-to-school transfer students are required to attend our Transfer Student Orientation. Information about this orientation will be mailed to admitted students. New admits may also wish to review the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy website. 8. College Enrollment By submitting an application, an admitted student declares his/her intention to enroll at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy for the fall 2016 term. The dean s office will notify the University Registrar to change the student s school of registration to the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (school code #30). 9. Withdrawal of Application Prior to a decision, an applicant may withdraw his/her application by visiting the status screen and clicking on Withdraw My Application. 10. Withdrawal After Admission If an admitted student is unable to enroll at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, he/she must select the Decline Transfer button displayed in their admission email within the timeframe indicated so that his/her school of registration may be modified accordingly. Without this notice, the school of registration will remain as the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (school code #30). 11. University Housing

Students may contact Residence Life at 848-445-0750 to inquire about housing opportunities at the school for the upcoming semester. Housing accommodations are assigned to school-to-school transfers on a spaceavailable basis. 12. Accommodation Under ADA/Section 504 Students currently receiving accommodation should inform their current campus coordinator of their intention to transfer to facilitate uninterrupted accommodation. 13. Student Accounting/Financial Aid Students should contact Student Accounting and Financial Aid (if applicable) to determine if there will be changes in the term bill or financial aid as a result of the transfer.
