Why do people choose to have Lasik Surgery? Clear, natural vision without the hassles & inconvenience of corrective lenses. Expanded career opportunities- police officer, firefighter, pilot & professional athlete. Better vision for recreational sports. especially water, winter & contact sports. More natural appearance without glasses. No more fears about being incapacitated in an emergency if lenses are lost. Wider scope of peripheral vision than glasses provide. May be safer for eye health than wearing contact lenses for an extended period of time. Improves appearances & self-esteem. What you need to understand about LASIK? LASIK is a surgical procedure intended to r e d u c e a person s dependency on glasses or contact lenses and not, as is usually thought, designed to totally eliminate the spectacle power. The accuracy of the post LASIK results is based on many factors like pre-operative high myopia or high astigmatism or corneas which are not perfectly symmetrical. The power will reduce to the l e v e l where you may not need to use glasses for over 85% of the time, but some residual power is to be expected. Advantages of the Visian ICL The Visian ICL and its unique Collamer composition offer numerous advantages including: Quality of Vision The Visian ICL produces not only improved visual acuity (20/20 vision is considered normal visual acuity), but also excellent visual quality. Many patients experience the "Wow" factor when they experience the immediate improvment in the quality of their vision. Biocompatibility Collamer, the 100 percent pure collagen copolymer lens material of the Visian ICL, is not viewed as a foreign object by the body's immune system. Versatility The Visian ICL offers a wider treatment range for myopia than LASIK and PRK procedures. Simplicity Unlike traditional contact lenses, once the Visian ICL is implanted in the eye, there is no additional maintenance needed. Safety After implantation in over 55,000 eyes worldwide, the Visian ICL has established a proven track record of safety. Lens Placement The placement of the Visian ICL makes the lens invisible to the patient and any observer. Removable The Visian ICL was designed to be permanently placed in the eye. However, the lens can be removed if a patient's vision changes or if it otherwise needs to be removed or replaced.
