Financing There are two questions that sound alike but are different. Very different when you stop and think about it. "How much does it cost?" and "What's it worth?"
When you shop, you can ask either question, but invariably, you'll be given the price of the item... not the worth of it. But, really, the cost of something is only its actual price. The worth is its personal value. There's a world of difference between the two. Any salesperson can quote the cost... but only you can determine the worth.
I'm convinced that the difference between handling our money wisely or foolishly is largely determined by the interplay between these two forces. We know we've spent wisely when the cost is eclipsed by the worth.
What is the value of LBC? God wants us to be good stewards. God gave us brains to think and learn, so we could use them. Stewardship: the individual s responsibility to manage his or her life. The one who walks with the wise grows wise -Proverbs 13:20
God wants us to be educated. Listen to what Peter says about learning and growing: make every effort to add to your faith goodness and to goodness knowledge, and to knowledge self-control... For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge... -2 Peter 1:5-8 God s curriculum for education.
God delights in our learning and education. All education should lead and reveal to us how great God is. Science, history, math. etc.
God equips people for service to Him. Moses Exodus 2:10 - was adopted by Pharoah s daughter and received the best of the kingdom, including education and training. He became the leader of Israel Daniel In Daniel 1:3-5, we see that Daniel was selected under these conditions. He had an aptitude for learning, well informed, quick to understand. They were to be trained for three years to be leaders in Babylon under king Nebuchadnezzar.
Paul Acts 22:3 Paul says, Under Gamaliel I was thoroughly trained in the law of our fathers Jesus Luke 2:46-47 - At the age of 12 Jesus went with his parents to the synagogue. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.
God designed you for a specific purpose. God has a plan for you and your life. It is a good plan. Jeremiah 29:11 - I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.
Consider the great opportunity to go to school. It is a great privilege! Ask God to help you honor Him with your education.
