FAQs What is a Virtual Fair and how does it work? A Virtual Fair is similar to an in person fair that you may have attended- it s just web-based. There are exhibit booths available to all attendees. Within the event you can navigate to an Exhibit Hall. Attendees can chat live with booth staff and more all through an online virtual environment that you visit through your Web browser at your convenience. You can also download event collateral and videos to your own virtual briefcase, which can then be exported and saved to your personal files for future use. This amazing technology gives you the benefits of being at an event without having to set foot in a crowded convention centre! When and where is the fair? The Fair is on November 18th to November 22nd and completely online. You can access the live event from any computer anywhere in the world. Live chats are text only (video and audio are not supported). How do I register for the fair? Registration is FREE. Please click on the Register Now button on the home page and follow the registration process. By registering prior to the event you will be able to receive updated information on event details and new exhibitors. Do I need to be available for the entire time in order to attend? No, you can login at your leisure and stay as long as necessary. *The daily hours of operation are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm but at anytime between November 18 and 22, 2013 you may login and visit employers booths, submit your resume and request a time to chat. Is there an option for me if I can t attend the fair on November 18th? The event will run the whole time between November 18 and 22, 2013 and you may login at any time during this week and visit employers booths, submit your resume and request a time to chat. How should I prepare for the fair? Review the exhibitors and determine whom you would like to speak with. Once you get to the booth, look at the materials and bios for the representatives. Then, ask your questions. The representatives have not prepared a presentation, so their main goal is to respond to questions about their booth. A local Employment Ontario service provider would be happy to assist you with preparing for the job fair. For more information, contact Lisa Wright, Conestoga Career Centre Waterloo lwright@conestogac.on.ca 519-772-4605 x 5618 or Brad Labadie, Workforce Planning Board brad@workforceplanningboard.com 519-622-7122.
