Profit Margin of 75,675 (12.6%) i.e. Sterling Price of Goods 675,675 @ 1.48 (spot price in April 2013) = AUD1,000,000 invoiced When AUD Received (day 130) AUD1,000,000 converted to GBP at 1.72 (spot price in September 2013) Exchange Rate = 581,395 into bank account The 75,675 of expected profit has turned into a loss of 18,605 because of exchange rate movements.

GBP 1801.84 AUD 1,011,712.33 GBP 676,338.10 1,011,712.33/676,338.10 = 1.4959 1.4959-1.4825 = 134 pips So the 5 month GBP/AUD forward rate is 1.4959
