CAMBRIDGESHIRE CAT CLUB and the BEDFORD AND DISTRICT CAT CLUB JOINT SHOWS 22 ND April, 2017 Dr Bruce Bennett Another huge double Show masterminded by Sally, calm and indefatigable as ever, with Paul and her trusty team to whom congratulations and thanks for the invitation and hospitality. It was a beautiful weekend of weather so we negotiated a couple of gardens on the way south Lea Gardens, near Matlock, a rhododendron enthusiast s fantasy, looking particularly splendid at present. Many fine exhibits to see at this Show also; congratulations to their owners; many were very beautifully prepared, and virtually every one was in benign mood. Mark Irwing nobly volunteered to steward and has my gratitude; I enjoyed the day in his company and I hope that he enjoyed it too. CAMBRIDGESHIRE CAT CLUB CLASSES. AOV SLH CHAMPION MALE. GR CC to FRANCIS & BOSWORTH S CH ANNARIC OZZY M. (RGM ns 03 11 32) 1 yr 11 mths. Silver Shaded with White Ragamuffin, Darker Points. Very pleasing breadth of head between ears and at cheekbone level, ears of mid size spaced on the gently rounded skull and neatly set, rounded outline, slight tilt evident, lovely aqua coloured large eyes of plump tear drop shape. Profile shows a defined break from high brows to a straight muzzle, chin deep and well aligned, curving in outline, level bite, whisker pads adding a friendly expression. Strong neck, large powerful rectangular body, sturdy limbs, rounded paws, balanced length of tail. Little or no fleshy fat pad as yet, must be an active youth. Pleasing, full, mid length coat, with ruffing and knickerbocking evident, smooth soft texture to the top layer, some density of undercoat, clear shading, neat, bright whites. RES GR CC to BIKULCIUTE S CH KORNEY AREA LOVE. M. (SIB n 03 33) 2 yr 1 mth. Huge, Seal Pointed with White Siberian showing breadth to the head s short wedge, broad cheek bones ear to ear to match, eyes full ovals of good blue shade, slightly lost in the seal mask, ears of mid size, set apart and flaring slightly. High forehead with a very gentle slope down to the nose of uniform width. Muzzle shows good depth,

chin and bite level. Body lengthy and very substantial, powerful limbs, round paws and matching length of tail that is a little rigid at its tip where a tiny cluster of white hairs justified his registration when last we met; I must confess that I missed the and white on this occasion and didnt search; not that it affects the outcome of course. Medium length coat that lacks a little undercoat at present, softish rather than truly resilient. Also considered; LUBY S CH MUSRAFY MIKOYAN. M. (SIB ns 03 11) 11 mth 1 wk. This silver Shaded and White Siberian lad shows breadth of head and cheek boning with well spaced ears, gold toned eyes, again of tear drop shape (pointed ends toward ears), well spaced and slightly oblique. Profile slopes gently down to a nose that shows a very gentle bump, chin slopes away, bite level. Pleasing big strong body with proportionate limbs and tail. Coat again just a little soft textured, needing a smidge more resilience ideally. Another smart shaded and white outfit. STAPPERTON S CH ANNARIC OH-FELIX. M. (RGM n 03) 1 yr 11 mth. Brother of the winner, black and white pattern this time. Rounded head. furnished ears spaced well on the gently curving crown, pebble eyes of gold shade, looking watchful; Oscar winning whiskers. The profile break lacks the definition of his brother s, nose short so the face look just a little flat, chin rounded, bite level. Substantial body with strong limbs and tail that matches. Very smart, medium length, black and white coat with ruff and knickerbockers. AOV SLH CHAMPION FEMALE. GR CC to FISHLOCK-LOMAX X CH HAUTECATOURE EMPRESSATHENA. F. (NOR ns 09 22) 1 yr 6 mth. Neat Silver Tabby with white Forest girl of good type. Very even triangle to her head with ears of balancing size, set in precise alignment. Super straight profile, chin curves back a little, bite level. Eyes inclined ovals, pale toned. Body lithe and feminine, balanced length of limb though she didn t want to stand up on them to show us their relative length, super length of tail. Rather sleek lying, medium long, Silver Tabby coat with dainty ruff and knickerbockers in evidence, tail furnishing might be a little fuller but OK. Reminiscent of Posh Spice but a lot less glum. RES GR CC to FRANCIS & BOSWORTH S CH PURTASTIC MUFFINS POPPY. F. (RGM g 32) 2 yr 11 mth. Tortie Ragamuffin, Darker Points. Pleasing girl, well developed and mature. Comely broad head, rounded contouring, wide at the cheekbones (with benignly curving whisker pads), crowned by spaced, furnished ears neatly set with a little tilt to them, large lustrous eyes of pale olive/gold tone. Slightly shallow profile curve down to a muzzle that shows excellent strength and depth. Strong, rounded chin, super even bite line. Body compact yet powerful,

limbs and tail to match. Attractive tortie coat, perhaps marginally short at present, resilient texture. Also considered. AGGET S CH ISADORYOU MATILDA. F. (MCO f 03 22) 1 yr 4 mth. Well grown young lady with a head that shows nice proportions developing, muzzle showing demure squaring to the boning; ears spaced, might be a little taller and more tapering for preference, eyes large and set just oblique, looking quizzical today. Profile shows the desired shallow curve from brow to nose, chin well aligned, lower incisors marginally forward. Strong rectangular body, its development looking just marginally ahead of that of her head at the moment, not surprising in an adolescent; limbs and tail proportionate. Attractive and striking coat, brilliant Tortie Tabby and White, length developing. ; BICULCIUTE S CH KARAMEL AREA LOVE.F. (SIB n 33) 2 yr 1 mth Another pointed lady, sister of the boy above. Top of head broad between neat ears, would prefer a bit more breadth lower down at the cheek bone level ideally; profile shows the requisite curve from brow to a muzzle that dips a tiny bit down to the nose leather, chin slopes back a little, incisors meet, just scissored over. Large blue eyes, rounded, looking surprised. Substantial body, well covered, balancing length of limbs and tail. Like her brother, her seal pointed patterned coat has a soft texture, lacking just a little in resilience. RAGAMUFFIN KITTEN. 1. BoB. PARKER S FILENSIO DEMELZA ALIS. FN. (RGM a 03 21 32) 7 mth 3 wk. Blue Tabby and White, Darker Points lass with an attractive broad short head, rounded wide cheeks, neat muzzle below, ears widely spaced, round tipped and flaring just a little, mid size, well set, just tilting, eyes of palest green, set just oblique, clear walnut shape. Profile curves gently at present, excellent depth of muzzle. Strong young body, powerful, well boned limbs and superlative length of tail. Glamorous blue tabby and white coat, some undercoat there so acquiring plushness. In some areas the background had tones of silver. 2. PARKER S FILENZIO TALLULAH ROSE. FN. (RGM n 03 21) 8 mth 2 wk. Another youngster with breadth of head, a squarish muzzle this time, largely due to the whisker pads, quite broad at cheekbone level. Profile again shows just a gentle curve brow to the nose leather, chin aligned, very, very determined not to have her bite examined but I think that it was OK. Sturdy body and limbs, tail just long enough to match. Coat still acquiring length, quite sleek in texture, lovely tabby pattern. RAGAMUFFIN NEUTER MALE.

BoB to CAMILLERI S I GR CH CHEHAM MASTERCHESTER. MN. (RGM a 03 32) 4 yr 1 d. Super formidable in his maturity. Immense, solemn gent with a splendid broad head, wide and rounded at cheekbone level with curved whisker pads below. Super, neat ears very widely spaced on the gently curving crown, tilted and rounded at the tips. Eyes large, set just oblique, upper lids almost straight, lowers generously curving. Well defined profile break from high forehead, tiny rise on the muzzle that has good depth, aligned chin. level bite. Huge lengthy body, very strong boning, big substantial limbs, rounded paws, and proportionate tail. Coat of good length, full and forming a good ruff and knickerbockers. Its dense, plushy texture was a little dry, my only real criticism. Handsome ruff and knickerbockers. Neatest little white strip running down through the blue of the forehead and centre of the muzzle. Statesmanlike demeanour, with the desired gentleness of expression. Also considered for BoB. GRIFFIN S PR LUVUMCATS DAVID-BOWIE. MN. (RGM ns 03 22) 1 yr 3 wk. Handsome adolescent Silver Tabby and White boy with an already broad head, narrowing to a neat muzzle, ears widely apart on the curving crown, set flaring a little, eyes open, well spaced. Profile curves down from the high rounded forehead to the nose leather, bite meets. Body has length, substance developing, powerful limbs and paws as desired, tail matches. Mid length coat has soft texture, some undercoat evident, ruff on the way, and a very attractive pattern. PARKER S PR CHEHAM TUARI. MN. (RGM n 21) 2 yr 10 mth. Slightly older Brown Tabby boy with head of breadth, neat muzzle, oval eyes set oblique, ears spaced quite well, flaring gently. Profile curves down from rounded brow to muzzle, chin slopes back a little, level bite. Body of size, limbs and tail matching. Soft textured tabby patterned coat of good length, wearing a ruff, with undercoat conferring some denseness. RAGAMUFFIN NEUTER FEMALE. PC to CAMILLERI S CHEHAM CHANTILLY LACE. FN. (RGM n 03 21 32) 11 mth 4 wk. Very beautiful young Brown tabby and White lady, darker points, with super head balance, broad but feminine, rounded outlines, neat muzzle with dainty whisker pads, beautifully spaced and set ears of balanced size. Amber eyes, just oblique, full rounded lower lids, uppers just curved, skewed walnuts perhaps. Neat profile break to a muzzle of depth, level chin and bite. Body development excellent for one so young, limbs, paws and tail all proportionate, demure little pads over the lower tummy. Excellent coat for length and plushy texture, ruff on the way, tabby pattern looking almost chocolate brown, darker points, smart white contrasts. I admired her a lot and she was a strong

contender for BoB. Also considered for BoB. ARCHER S I GR PR FILENSIO PANDORA S CHARM. FN. (RGM ns 03 21 32) 4 yr 5 mth. Another stunning girl and so like the above that I wondered whether they could be related. Breadth of head there, width at the rounded cheeks, neat tilted ears spaced widely and set well, inclined oval eyes of a lovely aqua shade. Profile breaks softly to a deep muzzle, bite level. Body mature but trim, limbs and tail matching. Coat very similar to that of the above with the same very chocolatey tone to the lovely brown tabby pattern, clear white contrasts. SIMPSON S GR PR BARNJEMMS CINNAMON. FN. (RGM ns 03 32) 1 yr 6 mth. Not cinnamon but a Smoke and White girl, darker points. Frowns a bit but perfectly friendly. Head very rounded in outline, sweet little ears spaced and tilting forward a little, eyes oval and gently oblique. Profile has just a very gentle dip brow to muzzle that is short and deep, chin curves back slightly, bite level. Body, firm, limbs and tail proportionate. Guard hair layer has a silky texture and appropriate length, full ruff in evidence, undercoat conferring some density. Dark smoke pattern with white in a mitted distribution. SIMPSON S PR BARNJEMMS SORREL. FN. (RGM a 03 31) 2 yr 3 wk. Another attractive lady of pleasing overall type. Good head proportions full face, with broad curve to the whisker pads. Like Cinnamon, the profile break might be a little clearer and she has the tiniest rise over her muzzle. Large amber eyes, well placed slightly tilted ears. Firm body with proportionate limbs, rounded tufted paws. Coat a little shorter, blue patterned with white a little forehead blaze, neat white chin and paws. ORIENTAL SPOTTED TABBY ADULT. 1. CC Withheld. FREEMAN S DURRDANA S JERONIMO M. (OSH n 24) 9 mth 4 wk. Handsome adolescent; even triangular head with ears of size that show becoming flare. Inclined oriental eyes of an amber shade, needing a more clarity of green. Excellent straight profile, chin curves away a little, bite level. Slender neck, lithe teenagers body, slender limbs, lengthy tail with a little terminal twist. Lovely smooth close coat, with excellent pattern; spots delineated clearly, broken spine line, tail rings and facial tracery all there with good contrast to the background that has warmth to it. FOREIGN WHITE KITTEN FEMALE. 1. BoB. BAUERFEIND S SNOWSEAL SIMPLY MAGIC. F. (SIA w 67) 5 mth 4 wk. Tiny tot with a neat triangular head, little kitten pinch, ears of good size, could be spaced a little more for preference, inclined oriental eyes of mid blue.

Profile virtually straight, muzzle and chin shallow at present, bite level. Daintiest wee body, limbs and tail to match. Wispy white baby coat. Plaintive! AV SLH ADULT. 1. BIKULCIUTE S CH KORNEY AREA LOVE. M. (SIB n 03 33) 2 yr 1 mth. (See above) 2.HORNER S SURFIN BLONDE BOMBSHELL. F. (SOL os) 3 yr 1 mth. Sweet little lass who had done something inappropriate to her tummy which appeared drenched. Nice head conformation with appropriate rounded contours and gentle curves linking cheekbones to the dainty muzzle. Plaintive expression in her large eyes set on the oblique with pale surrounds and ghostly pencillings. Profile shows a break below the brows, straight muzzle below that which could be a little deeper for preference. Dainty body, would like more substance ideally but perhaps the drenching made her look smaller. On the back, where she was dry, there was very fine ticking in pale cinnamon over a silver base, and a subtle spine line. 3. GARDINOR S CH SUCETTE WANDRIN STAR. F. (SBI a) 2 yr 10 mth. SLH RADIUS ADULT. 1. CANDLER S KATTJEWELS PHOEBE. F. (NFO g) 11 mth 4 wk. Solemn lady of good type. Triangular outline full face, ears medium large, following the head lines. Oval inclined eyes looking a little wary. Excellent straight profile, muzzle has depth, chin curves away gently, formidable incisors approximating. Body lengthy and firmly muscled. Balancing limbs and tail. Good medium length, double coat with junior ruff, attractively tortied. 2. LYTHGOE S TZKATZ MAJESTIC MARVEL. F. (RAG a) 4 yr 9 mth. Strong head with prominent whisker pads making the muzzle look broad and a little square. Ears neat and spaced, tilted on a fairly flat top, eyes set apart, large and of very good blue. The profile is only just concave, the chin full and rounded; incisors level. The body is mature, medium in size, limbs matching, tail a little short and needing more furnishing ideally. Body coat of mid length, dense in texture, matched blue points, body now showing toning shading. AV SLH NEUTER. 1. BURGESS S UK & OGIGR PR KASSARO CISCO KID. MN. (MCO n 03 22) 7 yr 11 mth. Looking quite splendid and in total control as usual. He has a wonderfully bold, confident look, without being in any way intimidating. Beautifully proportioned strong head, powerful square muzzle outlines, large spaced eyes that transfix the audience. Imposingly tall tapering ears spaced

becomingly and sporting terminal tufts. Profile shows the desired shallow curve brow to straight muzzle of excellent depth, chin aligned, bite meeting. Body very large and strong, heavily boned, with corresponding length and strength of limbs and tail. Coat as always splendidly prepared, top layer flowing smoothly down the flanks, generous ruff and breeches. Excellent Classic pattern with even some faint breaks to the spine line over the lower back, smart white to complement it. Serene as ever; later Best in Show and Best of the Best; congratulations 2. ROSE S GR PR LANDSKER BALTHASAR BAHA. MN. (NFO n 21) 4 yr 11 mth. Looking great, this Brown Tabby lad; excellent triangular head, ears set to follow, bold oval inclined eyes. Terrific, dead straight profile with aligned chin of good depth, level bite. Huge strong, lengthy body, limbs and tail to match. Waterproofed double coat, brown tabby pattern. 3. BROWN S GR PR DALTEEMA CAIRNGORM. MN. (SBI e) 2 yr 9 mth. X3 SIMPSON S BARNJEMMS SORREL FN. (RGM a 03 31) 2 yr 3 wk.(see above) BEDFORD & DISTRICT CAT CLUB CLASSES RAGAMUFFIN ADULT MALE.. BoB. Head of good overall shape, with some breadth established, ears set on the gently curving crown, might be a little more spaced for preference. Eyes large ovals, just oblique, pale gold tone, calmly expressive. Rounded muzzle and whisker pads viewed from in front; in profile there is a gentle break from brow to muzzle that has depth, with an excellent aligned chin and super level bite. Body firmly muscled, strong limbs ending in rounded paws, tail matching; neat lower abdominal fat pads for those hungry little moments we all experience. Mid length coat of smooth texture with ruff and knickerbockers on the way, attractive colour and blue tabby with white pattern, not that these are of importance. Considered for BoB.
