CITY OF MATLOSANA ELECTRICITY - SUPPLY TARIFF STRUCTURE ELECTRICITY - SUPPLY PART A: Monthly charges for availability and use of Council's electricity supply system: 1 BASIC CHARGES (including pre-paid installations) (including Indigents) 2014/2015 2015/2016 The following basic charges shall apply : ( Excluding Kanana,Khuma and Tigane ) 1.1 Domestic (as per item 2) 105.50 112.20 1.2 Business and light industrial (as per item 3) 237.06 265.98 1.3 Industrial - Bulk High 503.63 1 000.00 Bulk Low 503.63 1 500.00 1.4 "Time of use" - high and low tension 5782.96 6 488.48 1.5 Midvaal 4165.08 4 673.22 The basic charges in terms of item 1 shall be levied for each month for each erf, stand, lot or other area, with or without improvements, which is or, in the opinion of the Council can be connected to the supply main, whether electricity is consumed or not; provided that where any erf, stand, lot or other area is occupied by more than one consumer to whom electricity is supplied by the Council, the applicable basic charge shall be levied in respect of each such consumer. The basic charges which are levied in accordance with item 1 are payable by the registered owner of the erf, stand, lot or other area; provided that where property of the Council is leased or the registered owner cannot be identified, such basic charges shall be payable by the lessee of the particular property. 2 DOMESTIC SUPPLY This tariff shall apply to electricity supplied to : Amateur sporting clubs Charitable institutions Churches Council hostels Government dwellings and institutions Government schools Indigent consumers ( first 50 kwh free of charge ) Private dwelling-houses Residential flats Retirement and care centres Townhouses Per unit consumed Block 1 ( 1-50 kwh ) 0.7517 0.80 Block 2 ( 51-350 kwh ) 0.9450 1.01 Block 3 ( 351-600 kwh ) 1.2028 1.35 Block 4 ( 601 kwh - 1500 kwh ) 1.3746 1.54 Block 5 ( >1500 kwh ) 1.4498 1.63 Where electricity is supplied to a consumer where a combination of domestic and business categories is applicable, the tariff for business shall be applied. 3 BUSINESSES SUPPLY Businesses up to 40 000 kwh This tariff shall apply to electricity supplied to : Bed and Breakfast places Business and Industrial Boarding houses Creches and Nursery schools Guest houses Private hospitals Private hostels Private schools / Government Schools Staircase and public lighting Unlicensed clubs and halls Government Departments Per unit consumed 1.4605 1.64 This tariff shall apply to electricity supplied to : Bed and Breakfast places Business and Industrial Boarding houses Creches and Nursery schools Guest houses Private hospitals Private hostels Private schools Staircase and public lighting Unlicensed clubs and halls Per unit consumed 1.5249 1.71 4 SUPPLY TO INDUSTRIAL CONSUMERS 2014/2015 2015/2016 HIGH TENSION Consumers with a maximum demand, measured over a period of thirty minutes, of not less than 100 kilovolt-amperes, may with the approval of the Council take a supply from the high-tension mains in bulk. The consumer shall be responsible for the total cost of such a connection. The charges for such supply, measured on the high tension side, shall be as follows: 1 Unit charge for electricity consumed: Per unit 0.8484 0.95 2 Maximum demand charge: Per kilovolt-ampere 167.45 187.88 The charges for such supply, measured on the high tension side, shall be as follows:

1 Unit charge for electricity consumed: Per unit 0.9880 1.39 2 Maximum demand charge: Per kilovolt-ampere 167.45 187.88 LOW TENSION Consumers with a maximum demand, measured over a period of thirty minutes, of not less than 100 kilovolt-amperes, may with the approval of the Council take a supply from the low-tension mains in bulk. The consumer shall be responsible for the total cost of such a connection. 5 CHARGES IN RESPECT OF POWER FAILURE 2014/2015 2015/2016 When the Department: Electrical Engineering is called upon to attend to a failure of the supply to any consumer's premises and when such failure is found to be due to any cause, other than a fault in the Council's supply main or apparatus, the following charges shall apply: 5.1 For consumers within the municipal area: 5.1.1 During normal working hours R 203.62 215.00 5.1.2 After hours, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays R 356.59 376.55 5.2 For consumers outside the municipal area: 5.2.1 During normal working hours R 255.31 269.50 5.2.2 After hours, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays R 480.03 506.90 6 SPECIAL METER READINGS Charges in the event of a consumer equesting that a meter be read on any other day than the regular monthly date. previous consumption of the previous consumer. 7.2.2 Should the business to be operated be of the same type or per discretion of the Chief Financial Officer or his assignee with a minimum of R1000.00. 7.2.2 Where the minimum deposit is more than R5000.00, the applicant be allowed to pay 50% of the deposit cash and provide a bank guarantee for the balance of the required deposit. 8 VALUE ADDED TAX The tarifffs in Part A and Part B do not include VAT at standard rate Consumer deposits in item 7 (Part B) are exempted from VAT.
