Use of earned time/vacation/sick leave balances The employee CAN choose to use earned time, sick leave or vacation time to supplement the compensation payments. If the employee chooses to use Earned Time/Vacation/Sick Leave check the available balances and calculate $ value of Earned Time/Vacation/Sick Leave hours/units needed to make the employee whole. Manual adjustments to the employees leave records will need to be made to record the time used. Return to Partial Duty Be sure to contact payroll if the employee is due retro pay. Be sure to enter a DEFERC EPAF if there are any 455 default earnings which need to be changed. For adjunct hourly staff, hours will be reported through positive time entry. For adjunct salary staff, enter a DEFERC EPAF to update their default earnings to reflect their return to partial duty. For operating staff exception time entry will be required to provide dock pay, earned time payout as complement to w/c (make whole) and hours worked. When employee is returning to partial duty documentation is required from a physician providing date of return and maximum work hours.
