3.2 Graduation project (June 2005 December 2005) In this period I have completed my graduation project at Ericsson Research & Development in Gilze-Rijen, Netherlands. The project consisted of designing, developing and implementing (accompanied with training sessions for the users & manuals) of a web based test management system for the Integration & Verification department of Ericsson. The first part of the project consisted of gathering the requirements of all the different users in order to get a precise and complete overview of how the current test-process works and how this can be supported and automated. After the requirements document and functional design was complete it was my job to convince management that the new system that was going to be developed was indeed better than the already existing solutions that were being used within Ericsson Netherland, as well as other countries. After acceptance of the functional design by the users and management an extensive technical design was made by me. After this was approved the implementation of the system started, during which there was a weekly evaluation to discuss new functionality that was built so that the system was indeed living up to the expectations of the users. The last part of the project consisted of user-training and writing manuals for the system. I stayed for a month after my graduation to provide support for the system and to instruct the new developer on how to maintain and expand the system. The system had the following key functions: Creating projects and products that have to be tested, during which a project planning can be made with different milestones, to which the objects in the system can be connected; Creating and maintaining the users of the system, as well as assigned them to the different projects. After logging in the user is presented with a to-do list of items which has to be completed for the projects that he/she has been assigned to; Input of requirements of the product that has to be tested, which can be done manually or by importing a specific requirement document template; Design of the test cases to test the different requirements. The test cases can be grouped by test objects, which in their turn can be grouped by test suites; Following changes in requirements and test cases. When a requirement changes the user is automatically notified of which test cases have to be altered. Each object in the system has a version, so that the user can easily see which version of the requirement has been tested with which test case; Input of the results of the different test cases; Automatic generation of reports and project documenation following the Ericsson standards; Providing an overview of the progress of the entire project, test suit or test object for project management. Bases on this overview the user can easily see which requirements failed during testing and thus need rework. 4 Relevant work experience 4.1 MK2 Audiovisueel AkoestIQ Lite (2013) In 2013 MK2 decided to market a lite versoin of their AkoestIQ platform. Because of the excellent collaboration in the past MK2 granted me with the assignment of developing this new version. The project consisted of developing the application based on the provided functional requirements, turning over the application and installing and testing the application on site. Used technologies: Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0, C# (Visual Studio 2012) & WPF (Expression Blend 3). 4.2 @work Management Associates (April 2012 June 2012) Designing and implementing custom solutions within Microsoft Dynamics CRM for an extensive range of customers. When the customers have requirements that aren t supported by Microsoft Dynamics CRM out of the box a custom solution is designed and developed by using.net web forms, plugins and batch processing jobs to add this function to the CRM. Used technologies: C#, MVC3 (Razor view engine), JQuery, Javascript,.NET Framework 4.0, Visual Studio 2010, TFS, SOAP Webservices (WCF), SCRUM 4.3 Carglass B.V. (via Cegeka) (July 2011 July 2013) 4.3.1 Pricing Implementation of a new pricing webservice with which the organization can easily create new pricing agreements and models which are used throughout Carglass Netherlands for the products that Carglass delivers to its customers. The project consisted of the implementation of the service which is noew used by their current ERP and creating a user friendly management web application with which the people responsible within the organization can easily maintain the pricing agreements and models without the support of the IT department. 4.3.2 Planning & mobile With this project a connection if made with on one side the ERP system that is currently in use by Carglass Netherlands and on the other side that planning system (made by Ortec) and the mobile PDA solution (made by Sigmax). The connection consists of an ESB like solution which in a generic manner, using adapters, can quickly and securely provide the communication between the systems that are connected. The software was developed using an agile development method, which meant that the work consisted of iterations and there was daily close contact and meetings with the different involved parties (business analysts and end users), during which the progress and goals were being monitored and discussed. 4.4 Collaboration with Inspect & Detect B.V. (2011 January 2013) 4.4.1 Inspect & Detect XS In the start of 2011 a collaboration has been started with Inspect & Detect B.V. with the goal to develop a general identification & verification platform using biometrics and document scanning with the following key functions: - Scanning of a travel document (passport, Dutch driver license or other identification document) after which the data of the document can be saved and used in other systems and the document is checked for authenticity using a document database; - Enrollment and verification (on-line & off-line) of the fingerprints of a person; - Enrollment and verification (on-line & off-line) of the face of a person; Used technologies: C#, WPF, Entity Framework, different hardware components, Visual Studio 2010, Expression Blend3, NHibernate 4.4.2 Inspect & Detect XS Mobile Following the development of the XS platform a mobile platform was also built bases on a handheld device containing a swipe reader, fingerprint reader, camera and RFID reader. A solution was developed where the local mobile software receives all the data from the integrated devices, after which a business logic webservice (WCF) is called to process the data (document authenticity check, matching etc.). The outcome/output is then displayed to the user using the mobile device. Used technologies: C#, Entity Framework, wide range of hardware components and the control of them, Visual Studio 2010, Windows XP embedded 4.5 MK2 Audiovisueel Update Photograbber Holland Casino (June 2011) Made an update for an already existing product of MK2 Audiovisueel that is currently in use at Holland Casino. The old solution has been upgraded from a Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 solution to a Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 solution. Used technologies: C++, RS232 data communication, Microsoft Foundation Classes, Microsoft Visual Studio 6 and 2010 4.6 Consultancy BPI Services B.V. (January 2011 June 2011) In the start of 2011 a consultancy agreement has been signed between BPI Services BV and me, during which I was responsible for further development and support of their existing product line for the elderly care. Refer to 4.9 for more information. During this period I provided on-site user training on multiple occasions for the different products that they use (ScanManager, LUS, PlanManager). using a central web application. For example the user can display slideshows or agenda s on a large LCD screen behind the reception desk. Used technologies: Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1, C# (Visual Studio 2010), Entity Framework, WebDAV. 4.8 LeftClick Trade & Development EWS service (2011) Development of a custom made bridge for LeftClick Trade & Development. The solution from LeftClick provides the user with a single point to control all the content of the displays within the building, with which the user can schedule what is being display on which screen at what time. The bridge makes it possible to synchronize information from a Microsoft Exchange Agenda to the system of LeftClick. This is made possible using a Windows Service that can be scheduled to send changes in Exchange to the webservice of LeftClick. Used technologies: Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1, C# (Visual Studio 2010), Exchange Webservices. 4.9 MK2 Audiovisueel Music player application for Akoestiq (2010) This project consisted of the development of a music player application for the Akoestiq product of MK2 Audiovisueel, with which the user can create a playlist for cremation ceremonies, using AMX hardware and touch panels. The function of this application is the playing of the music in automatic order, during which the system keeps all other AMX systems synchronized using TCP/IP messaging. The playlist can be created using a web interface, after which it can be loaded in the music player application which can be controlled locally as well as with the AMX touch panels. Used technologies: Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1, C# (Visual Studio 2010) & WPF (Expression Blend 3). 4.10 BPI Products B.V. (2006 2010) Senior software engineer at BPI Products BV. During this time I was responsible for the design, development and installation & support for a wide range of solutions. Below an overview is given of the range of products I developed/projects I worked on. 4.10.1 ID Manager (2008 2010) Workstation software solution which allows the user to scan passport and other identification documents such as a Dutch driver license by using a document scanner (wide range of manufacturers supported, such as 3M, ARH, Regula). The scanned data is used to complete the data in an external system, such as a personnel system, and is validated based on expiry date and several other key elements. The solution is a desktop application developed using Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Entity Framework, using a database server (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle) for storing the scanned data. System & software architect, lead developer, installation on site, meetings with the end users, implementing the solution on site with the customer and support. Customers: Several large government institutions. 4.10.2 Project biometrics Dutch jail institution (2008 2010) Together with several other partner companies a project of the government was won and completed. fingerprints and other data of the detainees are enrolled in a central database when entering the prison. During their stay they will be required to match their fingerprint to the central database to ensure that the correct person is in prison and not a family member with resembling looks, which has occurred several times in the past. Developer & technical consultant, installation & implementation on site, project meetings with the customer and support. 4.10.3 BPI Careportal (2010) Web based solution with which employees can view their own agenda for the coming day and transfer the appointments to time registrations for that day. These registrations can be evaluated and approved by a manager, before they are transferred and billed to the patient. The solution also provides the employee with the option to make declarations for personal use of transportation. Software architect, developer, installation and training on site, project meetings with the customer and support. Customers: Different large elderly care organizations (2000+ employees) all over the Netherlands. 4.10.4 BPI PlanManager (2009 2010) Web based solution for elderly care organizations for scheduling the care of the patients. The system provides the scheduler with all the data required to make a good match between the available resources and the patients that need care, taking into account the required skill levels, the optimal route, absence or leave of the employees and a lot of other business rules. This system is also part of a larger solution with which the scheduled data can be viewed by the employee who gives the care to the patients using the Careportal, after which the resulting time registration data is transferred to the ScanManager in which it is validated and approved before being billed to the customer. The solution is fully web based and has been developed using the Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1, using a Microsoft SQL Server database (version 2000, 2005 & 2008 supported) for data storage. Software architect, developer, installation & training on site, project meetings with the customer and support. Customers: Different large elderly care organization (2000+ employees) all over the Netherlands. 4.10.5 BPI ScanManager (2007 2010) Web based solution which supports the time registration process of the different elderly care organizations, using either barcode scanners or the created schedule as input. The system provides different reporting functions to easily get an overview of the productivity and other key characteristics of the different departments in the organization. Using a separate web based bridge platform called the DataManager the different systems are connected to each other to enable data being transferred and connected to the back office system in which the patients and employees are maintained. The solution is fully web based and has been developed using the Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1, using a Microsoft SQL Server database (version 2000, 2005 & 2008 supported) for data storage. 4.10.6 Automating reporting duty Dutch immigrants (2006 2007) Project for the department of alien affairs for the Dutch government with the goal to support the current reporting process that immigrants have to undergo every week so that the government can track them before they received their official Dutch visa/nationality. The project uses the biometric features (fingerprint) of a person to ensure his/her identity. Using an automatic card reader the MRZ lines of the alien document is scanned, after which the person has to match his/her fingerprints against the central database. If the match fails, the card is captured and the person has to go to the reception for further verification. Developer, installation & support on site. 4.10.7 VIND2: digital product catalog (2006 2008) Web based solution for local governments with which they can maintain their product catalog and publish it to their website. Using the frontend application the citizens can request and pay for the different products that the local government provides, such as a new identification document and several approval documents. Using the DigiD platform developed by the central government the citizens can login to the system and validate their identity. The solution is fully web based and has been developed using Visual Basic 6 (COM components) and ASP classic, using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL database server for data storage. Developer, installation and training on site and support (second-line). Customers: about 80 local governments throughout the Netherlands. Used technologies: Visual Basic 6, C, C++, MFC, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ASP Classic, HTML, Javascript, Linq, Entity Framework, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 & 2008, Windows Server 2003 & 2008, Visual Studio 6.0, 2005, 2008 & 2010, Microsoft Expression Blend 2 & 3, webservices (ASMX & WCF), Microsoft.NET 2.0, 3.5 (SP1) & 4.0 4.11 Financieel Pakhuys Brabant (2005 current) Financial institution which main activities is providing all sorts of financing products, such as car leasing, mortgages, running credits etc. My job was to develop a web based car lease calculator with which the customer can calculator the monthly costs to finance their new/second-hand car, including a road tax and insurance fee calculation. The solution is available on the main site to provide customers a way to calculate the lease from home and is available in the showroom of the car dealers throughout the Netherlands where the customer can calculator the lease using a touchscreen based application, using the visual design of the car dealer. After approving the calculation and providing the personal details the request is transferred to a central back office where the FPB employees can easily view it and call the customer within the hour. The solution is fully web based and has been developed using PHP, using a MySQL database for data storage. Used technologies: PHP, MySQL 5, IIS. 4.12 MK2 Visuele Media B.V. (2004-2006) Developer at MK2 Visuele Media BV, a company which provides and installs a wide range of professional audio and video equipment, usually project based for different customers and locations ranging from a boardroom for a local government to an entire building for a large Dutch insurance company. During this time I also developed several C++ applications, such as an application which can be used to take photos of a person using a professional camera and transferring said photo to an external system. The application was used throughout the Netherlands by all Holland Casino locations. A second application is a Remote TV application which can be used to control the power state and channel of every TV & display in the building in a scheduled manner.
