Academic Service (continued) Pilot or design new tools Pilot most new browsers and operating systems to test for issues with the Blackboard products (2003-2012) Participated in pilots of SPARK, WebCT 3.0, and 4.0, Moodle, BBLearn, Wimba, and others. o Piloted tablet PCs. o Beta-tested WebCT 4.0 with developers. o Tested Elluminate vs. Wimba as part of a Umass Online evaluation. Designed software (with a programmer) that linked scantron results to an Access database. This allowed students to view detailed test results (not just a score) in a secure online environment. This was a huge benefit to students in auditorium classes. Program was used by Davis group faculty (still in use in Finance 301, 8 years later) Other Service Met with representatives of Five College, Inc. and the campuses to find ways to support creative uses of online technology (8/2009).
