CounterPath Corporation Suite 300, Bentall One Centre 505 Burrard Street Box 95 Vancouver BC V7X 1M3 Canada Telephone: +1.604.320.3344 www.counterpath.com Release Notes for CounterPath Bria Android Edition CounterPath Bria Android Tablet Edition Version 3.2.0 November 7, 2014

Changes in Bria 3.2.0 Fix to support updated Facebook XMPP authentication requirements This version supports the updated Facebook XMPP authentication requirements. Resolved Issues Issues Resolved in Bria 3.2.0 In general, there have been improvements in the additional stability and performance of Bria. Known Issues Dialer Integration Bria 3.0 and 3.1 do not have native dialer integration; the dialer picker does NOT show up so native dialer is always used for making a call. This is a known issue on Android. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=58097 Bluetooth issues on Android devices Bluetooth integrates best with Android OS 4.0 or later. There are known issues in Android OS regarding Bluetooth audio support for third party applications such as Bria. The full list of open issues can be found: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list?can=2&q=bluetooth&colspec=id+type+status+owner+summary+ Stars&cells=tiles [Tablet Edition] No Video Sent to Remote End when a Video Call is Minimized Bria stops sending video to remote end when a video call is minimized. The call remains active (not on hold); only video will be removed from the call. This is due to limitation of Android framework that does not allow apps to capture video unless the camera preview surface is created and shown. [Tablet Edition] Wallpaper Users might see a flash of the Android wallpaper screen when navigating from Bria main screen to Bria Settings screen (and vice versa). To prevent the wallpaper from appearing, go to Android Settings on the tablet, and tap Screen then Animation. Choose either Some animations or No animations, then users will not see the wallpaper while using Bria. 2 2014 CounterPath Corporation

Changes in Bria 3.1.4 Adding OPUS/48000/2 SDP Handling This version has the ability to send and receive the SDP as opus/48000/2, as described in OPUS RTP payload draftv3. Android Runtime Compatibility This version contains fixes for Android Runtime (ART) compatibility. Bria Keeps Closing? If Bria keeps closing when you access the Bria settings, disable "Do not keep activities" option in Settings > Developer options > Apps. The location of this setting might vary depending on the device. Issues Resolved in Bria 3.1.4 In general, there have been improvements in the stability of Bria. Issues Resolved in Bria 3.1.3 Bria 3.1.2 had a problem with DNS when the system returned an IPv6 address. This problem has been resolved. 3 2014 CounterPath Corporation

Changes in Bria 3.1.2 Play Music on Hold Bria plays classical music to the other party when you place a call on hold. The default is off (no music played). This is client-based music on hold; it does not control the network-based music if your service provider has such a feature. You can change this setting from Preferences > Play Music on Hold. Note that all the conference participants will hear music when you place a conference call on hold. DNS Fallback - Adding Custom DNS Servers Previously Bria used the DNS servers provided by Android OS. With this version, you can add up to four DNS servers of your choice. Bria will query the servers provided by Android OS, then try custom servers. Bria will query sequentially up to 4 servers; if OS provides 2 servers and you configure 3, the third custom server will not get used. To add custom DNS servers, go to Advanced Settings > Network Traversal Strategy > DNS Servers, then enter an IP address in the Custom Name Server field. [Tablet] Phonetic Sorting of Contacts This preference was introduced to the Smartphone Edition, and now it is available in Tablet Edition. When this preference is on, Bria sorts contacts by phonetic names such as Yomigana/Furigana or Pinyin. It will take longer to load contacts compared to when it is off. The default is off; under Settings > Preferences > Use Phonetic Sorting. When contact names include Japanese or Chinese characters and the names do not appear correctly on Bria, enabling this preference may solve the problem. Improvements to Native Dialer Integration We changed the internal logic for native dialer integration, so Bria comes up more often as an optional dialer in third party apps. However, whether or not Bria appears in the dialer picker depends on the device and its manufacturer, as well as third party apps. There is also a known issue in Android OS for integrating third party apps (see below). Changes to Color Picker The Color field for typing a hex value no longer includes the alpha transparency (first two digits are removed). Issues Resolved in Bria 3.1.2 When user taps a number and selects Bria from the dialer picker, Bria previously did not populate the dial pad with that number. This issue has been resolved. When populating the Softphone field in the Contacts tab, the username portion was not displayed correctly. This issue has been resolved. 4 2014 CounterPath Corporation

Changes in Bria 3.1.0 Brazilian Portuguese We added Brazilian Portuguese support. When the device language is set to Portuguese (Brazil), Bria is displayed in Brazilian Portuguese. Testing Dial Plan With this improvement, users can see the actual number Bria dials after the dial plan is applied. This is a good way to make sure that you configured the dial plan as you intended. To test a dial plan, enter a dial plan first, then enter a number in the Number to test field. Bria shows the resulting number to dial. For example: A dial plan is configured as: Match number: +1613x. Remove Prefix: +1613 Add Prefix: 9 If the input starts with +1613, then remove the +1613 then add 9 and dial the number. So +16135550012 is dialed as 95550012. New Option for Call Encryption A new option "Best Effort" has been added to the setting "Encrypt Audio" using SRTP. When this option is selected, Bria first requests audio encryption when making a call. If the remote party cannot accept the encrypted call, then Bria immediately makes a non-encrypted call to the person. Improved XMPP Presence Aggregation When your buddy logs into their XMPP account from multiple devices, Bria previously showed only the latest presence change, which occasionally resulted in displaying offline even though the buddy is online on other device. With this version, Bria aggregates presences of all the devices, and prioritizes them: for example, if one device has On the Phone and the other has Available, Bria displays On the Phone. [Smartphone] Bypass Lock Screen when Answering Calls Previously when you receive an incoming call on Bria when the device is locked, it required to first unlock the screen, then answer the call. With this version, no need to unlock before answering incoming calls. Changes to Existing Features LED Notification: The LED notification light blinks less frequently. DTMF tone: The volume of the tone when sending DTMF during a call has been lowered. Voice Mail Indicator: The voice mail indicator previously appeared even when the account was unregistered or disabled. Now it appears only for the registered accounts. Noise Reduction: Bria has improved noise reduction; it aims to reduce CPU usage. 5 2014 CounterPath Corporation

Issues Resolved in Bria 3.1.1 The issue with the compatibility of the Encrypt Audio setting has been resolved. Issues Resolved in Bria 3.1.0 The incoming call screen did not indicate the account that the call came in. This issue has been resolved. Some users experienced that the buddy names do not appear in the Contacts/Buddies list. This issue has been resolved. If You institute patent litigation against any entity (including a cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work or a Contribution incorporated within the Work constitutes direct or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses granted to You under this License for that Work shall terminate as of the date such litigation is filed. 4. Redistribution. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise, any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion in the Work by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of this License, without any additional terms or conditions. Notwithstanding the above, nothing herein shall supersede or modify the terms of any separate license agreement you may have executed with Licensor regarding such Contributions. 6. Trademarks.
