Overview INTRODUCTION Established in 1995, Suntronic is a diversified Electronic Manufacturing Service provider supporting the oil and gas, medical devices, industrial controls, semiconductor, military, telecommunication, and scientific instrumentation industries. Suntronic facilities consist of over 110,000 square feet of Integrated production and office floor space organized for efficient execution, with corporate headquarters located in, Texas. Design Services At Suntronic, we have a fully-staffed team of degreed engineers. Our Engineering Group supports all phases of the manufacturing process from the conceptual phase of product development through prototype and production, to ensure maximum efficiency and greatest precision for our customers. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Understanding the challenges EMS Providers face in supporting prototype, production or short runs. At Suntronic we are equipped with specific equipment dedicated to service this need. As a result, our engineers and operators are highly experienced in making prototypes which translates to faster turn-around and very precise results. Innovation is fundamental to our organization and our engineering team, along with our skilled craftsmen, Suntronic can provide assistance to our customers with product development. We provide design assistance, engineering assistance, determine the manufacturability of the assembly, and recommend the best application/processes for our customers product. This proactive approach allows our engineers to work with customers in a timely manner, to resolve manufacturing concerns before production begins. RAPID PROTOTYPING Whether it is a 5 Day, 3 Day, 24 Hour or even same day services our NPI and Prototyping lines within each of our three facilities are fully capable and are ready to help fulfill your needs. We encourage our customers to do prototypes because this is most cost effective in the long run. Having a prototype will allow you and our engineers to recommend and implement design changes which will improve manufacturability. DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING At Suntronic, we believe that it s not enough to produce a prototype. We also need to help our customers get the most value out of the manufacturing process. That s why our engineers work with our customers throughout the product development phases to make sure that products meet manufacturing guidelines. Prototyping Services At Suntronic, each facility is equipped with dedicated prototyping SMT lines and process verification equipment to ensure our customer with highest quality standard with the quickest turn around time. With many years' experience of new product development and manufacturing new products, Suntronic staff at each facility are focused on making the complex journey from initial concept to a saleable finished product as swift and cost effective as possible for its customers. Many EMS Providers cannot support prototype production or short runs. At Suntronic we are equipped with specific equipment dedicated to service this need. As a result, our engineers and operators are very experienced in making prototypes which translates to faster turn-around and very precise results. FLEXIBILITY As an EMS provider, we understand the cost effectiveness of procuring bulk inventory during the product development phases. As a result, typically components arrives in conditions inefficient for pick and place machines. Cut tape strips, matrix trays with oversized pockets or simply a plastic bag are less than ideal forms. PCB Assembly 1 of 4 SURFACE MOUNT TECHNOLOGY At Suntronic, we continually optimize our manufacturing environment to take full advantage of the latest printed circuit board assembly equipment available. Whether high mix low volumes that ranges from a few units for prototypes, to modest quantities for pre-production, and to hundreds of thousands in volume production, our equipment strategy is designed to produce a highly flexible manufacturing environment that meets the changing needs of our customers. This consist of multiple identically configured lines, as well as, equipment feeders for offline setups. Our robust board assembly operations can accommodate a variety of highly complex technology requirements such as BGA, UBGA, CSP and small profile passives down to and including 0201. All of our facilities employ common manufacturing equipment platforms and common manufacturing quality system. This allows a rapid transition of manufacturing operations. Either as a dual site qualification plan, or to address disaster recovery risks. PCB Assembly 2 of 4 CONVENTIONAL LEADED TECHNOLOGY In spite of the continuing growth in the use of surface mount technology, the use of conventional leaded components in new products continues in strength. Suntronic staff have many decades of experience in hand assembly, working to IPC 610 class 3, the high reliability standard of workmanship. With a dedicated workforce and a comprehensive infrastructure of work instructions and procedures, Suntronic facilities manufacture product for demanding customers where consistency of quality is essential. SPECIAL PROCESSES Suntronic offers a variety of less common processes, including the use of HMP (High Melting Point Solder), Pb88 and Au80. With these special processes come specific cleaning processes such as ultrasonic baths and vapor degreasing which we can support. SELECTIVE WAVE SOLDER Suntronic employs Selective Wave soldering machines to achieve consistent quality and process control when assembling boards having multiple grounds, power planes, or dense populations of SMT components on both sides. Our equipment is also setup to support both Tin/Lead processes and Lead Free processes with interchangeable solder pots. AOI In addition to the microscopes used throughout the facilities, Suntronic has special in-house inspection tools including AOI. At Suntronic, we have specific AOIs that will suit our customers needs; moving gantry AOIs supporting batch production and prototypes to complete in-line systems with line scanning capabilities reducing cycle times down to mere seconds., TX 77099, TX 78744

PCB Assembly 3 of 4 FLYING PROBE Cont d Designed to detect manufacturing defects on printed circuit boards, these testers utilize high speed independently moving probes, making it easy to access test points, vias, component pads and fine pitch parts. Since no conventional bed-of-nails (test fixture) is required and the initial test program creation from the CAD file is quick and easy, total development time is measured in hours instead of days. Test Services 1 of 2 TEST SERVICES Our Test Engineering department is staffed with experienced electrical engineers and technicians who excel at working with customers to develop methodologies and design fixtures to reduce overall manufacturing costs, improve production yields, identify failures early, support root cause analysis, and assist customers with DFT (Design For Test) analysis. Our extensive testing capabilities are more than enough for any need. Depending on product design, component selection, production procedure and batch volume, we aim to draw together a testing strategy that delivers the highest product quality. FUNCTIONAL TEST Every product needs a different approach to the function test, because every product performs a different function. Our competent engineering team creates efficient custom testing systems in-house, perfectly suited to your exact product. For low to medium volume products, functional fixtures are the strategy of choice. Our engineers and technicians work closely with customers to develop test fixtures that simulate device operating environments and can provide 100% verification of functionality. Just inspecting or verifying components does not determine if the end product will actually work. Test Services 2 of 2 DESIGN FOR TEST If a product design considers testing up front, test development will be significantly easier and less costly. Test coverage will be much higher leading to the better assurance that the delivered product works. Identifying non-functional product is only a portion of the test operation mission.
