Oklahoma District Attorneys Council Federal Grants Division FY 2012 Justice Assistance Grant Awards The purpose of the 2012 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is to allow states to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on local needs and conditions. The primary use of the JAG funds in Oklahoma is to support multijurisdictional drug task forces under the Law Enforcement Purpose Area; however, funds were also utilized to support projects in the Purpose Areas of Prosecution and Courts, Prevention, Corrections and Community Corrections. Multijurisdictional Drug and Altus $205,565.63 Jackson, Kiowa, Tillman, Greer and Harmon District Attorney #3 The District 3 District Attorney Drug and Violent Crime Task Force will use a multi-agency, multijurisdictional approach to reduce the importation, manufacturing, distribution, and possession of illegal drugs in the five-county 3rd Judicial District. Multijurisdictional Drug and Lawton $146,676.38 Comanche and Cotton District Attorney #5 The District 5 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force will enhance drug and violent crime enforcement investigations, arrests, and prevention by utilizing extensive informant and technical resources. In addition, they will coordinate multicounty multiagency investigations through enforcement and information collection and dissemination. 1

Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force Pawhuska $184,650.00 Osage and Pawnee District #10 / Osage County Sheriff s Office The District 10 Sheriff's Office Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force will work in conjunction with local law enforcement, federal and state agencies to reduce the illegal importation, manufacture, distribution and possession of illegal drugs and dangerous substances in Osage and Pawnee. Multijurisdictional Drug and Bartlesville $93,857.13 Washington County & Nowata District Attorney #11 The Task Force will investigate and respond to drug and violent crimes occurring within the district and provide training to other local law enforcement officers in the area. Multijurisdictional Drug and Claremore $143,607.50 Rogers, Mayes and Craig District Attorney #12 The purpose of the project is to assist local, state, and federal agencies in the investigation and prosecution of drug and violent crimes in the 12th District. Multijurisdictional Drug and Miami $137,623.75 Ottawa and Delaware District Attorney #13 The 13th District Multijurisdictional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force is made up of dedicated law enforcement officers with the specific common goal in the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of those violating state and federal narcotic laws, as well as any violent crime encountered in the 13 th District. 2

Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force/ Idabel $143,432.10 McCurtain, Pushmataha and District Attorney #17 Choctaw The purpose of the project is to fund investigators and a prosecutor to assist local, state, and federal agencies in the investigation and prosecution of drug and violent crimes in the 17th District. Multijurisdictional Drug and McAlester $116,840.04 Pittsburg and Haskell District Attorney #18 The District 18 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force provides the community and local law enforcement highly trained agents to investigate drug and violent crime. They are committed to educating the public against illegal drugs and combating trafficking, manufacturing, and distribution of drugs in the district. Multijurisdictional Drug and Durant $215,354.70 Bryan, Atoka and Coal District Attorney #19 The Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force seeks to aggressively combat drug and violence related crime in District 19 through investigation, education, and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies. Multijurisdictional Drug and Norman $151,943.24 Cleveland, McClain, and Garvin District Attorney #21 The Task Force, with local and federal agencies, will combat the possession and trafficking of illegal narcotics as well as investigating violent crimes within District 21. Multijurisdictional Drug and Ada $151,943.24 Pontotoc, Seminole and Hughes District Attorney #22 The project will focus on disrupting the flow of narcotics and the investigation of violent offenses which typically tax the resources of local law enforcement agencies. 3

Multijurisdictional Drug and Okemah $108,900.08 Creek and Okfuskee District Attorney #24 The purpose of the Multijurisdictional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force is to reduce the illegal importation, manufacturing, distribution, and use of illegal drugs through interagency cooperation and coordination and to target violent crime offenders throughout the district. Multijurisdictional Drug and Okmulgee $132,641.00 Okmulgee and McIntosh District Attorney #25 The District 25 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force will organize and conduct investigations that involve the illegal sale, distribution, and trafficking of illegal drugs as well as violent crimes within the two county district. Multijurisdictional Drug and Sallisaw $176,494.95 Cherokee, Adair, Sequoyah and Wagoner District Attorney #27 The District 27 Multijurisdictional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force's primary purpose is to assist, promote and coordinate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on the investigation, eradication, and prevention of illegal drug activity and violent crime within the district. Tulsa Area Gang Enforcement Team/ Tulsa $62,261.14 City of Tulsa Tulsa Police Department Funds will be used to support one (1) gang unit analyst, an integral part of the Gang Enforcement Team. The Tulsa Area Gang Enforcement Team project is designed to significantly decrease criminal incidents related to criminal street gangs in the Tulsa metro area through suppression, intervention, and prevention. Multijurisdictional Drug and Tulsa $137,179.59 Tulsa County Tulsa County Sheriff s Office The focus of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force is on the investigation and prosecution of drug and violent crime and the education of the public on the dangers and risks of illicit drugs. 4

Tulsa County Gang Prosecution Project/ Tulsa $185,466.71 Tulsa County District Attorney #14 Tulsa County Gang Prosecution Unit will serve to reduce gang crime, increase gang-related prosecutions and convictions, and remove the most violent offenders from the community. Capital Litigation & Homicide Prosecution Oklahoma City $142,250.00 Statewide Project/ Oklahoma District Attorneys Council The Capital Litigation Resource Prosecutor project will aid prosecutors in the rural areas of the state in the effective prosecution of capital murder cases by providing technical and trial assistance, developing legal resources, and providing training for prosecutors and their prosecution team, including investigators and law enforcement.
