The Mt. San Jacinto College USDA Environmental Science Transfer Grant BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The Mt. San Jacinto College USDA Environmental Science Transfer Grant will be awarded to one current MSJC student majoring in Environmental Studies (or a closely affiliated discipline) who wishes to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field beginning fall, 2010. There is one scholarship available to an outstanding student in the amount of $40,000.00 which is intended to help defray educational expenses such as tuition, books, fees, living expenses and related expenditures at the university or college to which the student transfers.
Mt. San Jacinto College Environmental Studies Transfer Grant Application 2009-2010 Requirements: -Complete the Environmental Studies Scholarship Application, typed or neatly printed in ink -Complete the Student Affirmative Action Information Form and submit it with all other application materials -Be enrolled for minimum unit requirements for Fall semester 2009/Spring 2010. This scholarship requires full-time enrollment (12 or more units) and a minimum 3.3 GPA. -Declared major in Environmental Studies or closely related field (chemistry, biology, geology, geography, etc.). (If not ENVS, write a paragraph describing how you will apply your chosen field to environmental issues). -Attach three (3) current Letters of Recommendation from instructors or employers. Request two individuals, such as teachers, employers, or community leaders who are familiar with your career goals, to complete this form. -Respond to all essay questions. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Submit a copy of your high school transcript. Your application will not be processed if it is missing any documents.
