Accessing Paycheck Information via Payroll Self Service Off Off Access NOTE: Internet Explorer (IE) 7, 8 and 9 are the only supported Browsers for the PeopleSoft Self Service applications. For IE 9 compatibility view should be turned off. See the Troubleshooting section of this document for information on turning off compatibility view. If you experience technical problems using Self Service, or if your User ID, Password or Account is locked; contact the Help Desk at: 1-800-303-3290 or 1-504-568-HELP (4357) or helpdesk@lsuhsc.edu (mailto:helpdesk@lsuhsc.edu). Also, passwords can be changed and/or accounts unlocked by accessing the LSUHSC Change Password page at: www.lsuhsc.edu/changepassword (http://www.lsuhsc.edu/changepassword) Warning! We recommend against using public or shared computers to access Self- Service. To protect the security of this information, it is important for you to follow the sign out procedures in this document, delete the Internet cache prior to closing the browser, and confirm ALL browser windows are closed at the end of your session. Procedure In this topic you will learn how to view your paycheck information using Off Access. Page 1
1. Click the Internet Explorer icon. 2. From the LSU Health Shreveport homepage (http://www.lsuhscshreveport.edu/lsuhealthshreveport/lsuhealth Shreveport.aspx), click the Inside myhsc link. Page 2

4. Click the Payroll Services link. 5. Click the Self-Service link. Page 4
6. Click the Click here to access Self-Service link. 7. NOTE: If this is your first time accessing the portal, allow the ActiveX component to run. Internet Explorer will install the necessary components for the Remote Access Portal. This may take several minutes, so please be patient and let the installer complete the installation. When the installer has completed, you will automatically be taken to a login screen where you can log into the portal. 8. Enter the desired information into the Username field. Enter "Your Network User ID". NOTE: The User ID and Password are the same as you use at work. 9. Enter the desired information into the Password field. Enter "Your Network Password". Page 5
10. Click the Sign In button. Page 6
Training Guide 11. The Remote Access Portal displays. The options you see will depend on your network access. Click the Employee Self Service link. 12. The PeopleSoft sign on screen will appear. Enter the desired information into the Password field. Enter "Your Password". NOTE: Your User ID should default into the User ID field. If it does not, enter it. The User ID is the same as the id you used to logon to the Remote Access Portal. The User ID is not case sensitive and the system automatically converts it to Upper Case. Passwords are case sensitive. 13. Click the Sign In button. 14. The Remote Access toolbar displays in the right side of the window. Page 7
15. Click Main Menu. 16. Click the Self Service option. 17. Click the Payroll and Compensation option. 18. Click the View Paycheck option. Page 8
19. Select the paycheck advice you wish to view by clicking the date in the Check Date column. Click the 2013-02-28 link. Page 9
20. The online paycheck displays as an Adobe.pdf file. Click the Maximize/Restore button to enlarge the window. 21. You may print your paycheck advice by clicking the Print button. Page 10
22. You would make any needed changes on the page and then click the Print button. For training purposes only, click the Cancel button. Page 11
23. You can also save your paycheck to a secure location on your computer. Click the Page button. 24. Click the Save As... option. 25. You would select where you wish to save the document, change the file name if needed, and then click the Save button. For training purposes only, click the Cancel button. Page 12
26. Click the Close button to close the paycheck advice. Page 13
27. Click the Reposition toolbar button if Remote Access toolbar is covering the PS toolbar. 28. The Remote Access toolbar is repositioned on the other side of the page. 29. Click the Sign out link to exit PeopleSoft. 30. Click the Sign out button to exit the Remote Access Portal. Page 14
31. Please make sure the Remote Access Portal has ended successfully before moving to the next step of clearing your internet cache. If the session has ended correctly, the "Your session has ended" box will display. 32. Once your session has ended, you should delete your Internet Browser cache and then close all browser windows as instructed below. Warning! Any information viewed during this PeopleSoft Self-Service session will be saved to your browser s Internet cache on the computer you are using and may be viewed by others who may use this computer. We recommend against using public or shared computers to access Self-Service. To protect the security of this information, delete the Internet cache prior to closing the browser, and confirm ALL browser windows are closed at the end of your session. How to Delete a Browser's Internet Cache using Supported Browsers Delete Browsing History using Internet Explorer (IE) 8 and above Procedure In this topic you will learn how to Delete Browsing History using Internet Explorer (IE) 8 and above. 1. Click the Safety menu on the right side of the window. NOTE: If you do not see the Safety menu, see the Troubleshooting Section, No Safety Menu topic. Click the Delete Browsing History... menu. Page 16
2. NOTE: If the Preserve Favorites website data option is checked, you must uncheck it. The Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History must be selected. If these options are not selected, click the check box to the left of each to select them. Click the Delete button. 3. The Delete Browsing History dialogue box will display. Wait for delete to complete before closing window. Page 17
4. Click the Close button. 5. This completes Delete Browsing History using Internet Explorer (IE) 8 and above. End of Procedure. Delete Browsing History using Internet Explorer 7 Internet Explorer 7 1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options. 2. Under "Browsing history", click Delete. 3. To delete your cache, click Delete files. 4. Click Close, and then click OK to exit. NOTE: For information on how to clear the cache of commonly used, but non supported browsers, please see Clear Commonly Used Non Supported Browser's Internet Cache at the end of this document. 5. After the cache is cleared, click the X to close the browser window and confirm ALL browser windows are closed. Page 18
Troubleshooting Turn on the Menu Bar and Safety Menu Procedure In this topic you will learn how to Turn on the Menu Bar and Safety Menu. 1. If you do not see a Menu Bar on your Internet Explorer window, you can turn the Menu Bar option on. Right-click in the light blue area under the URL field. A pop-up menu will display. 2. Left mouse click next to the words Menu Bar for the Menu Bar to appear. 3. The Menu Bar displays under the URL field. If the Safety Menu does not display on the Menu Bar, you can find it on the Command Bar. Click the View menu to turn on the Command Bar. 4. Point to the Toolbars menu. Page 19
5. Click the Command Bar menu. 6. The Command Bar display on the right side of the browser. 7. This completes Turn on the Menu Bar and Safety Menu. End of Procedure. Turn Off Compatibility View: Using IE 9 when Receiving Browser Not Compatible Message Procedure In this topic you will learn how to Turn Off Compatibility View: Using IE 9 when Receiving Browser Not Compatible Message. 1. If you are using Internet Explorer 9, you may receive the error message shown in red on the logon screen. You will need to turn off Compatibility View using the steps that follow. Page 20
2. Click the Tools menu and then click the Compatibility View Settings menu. 3. The "Add this website" field should be blank. If it is not, delete the displayed address. Page 21
4. Ensure the first box, Include updated website lists from Microsoft, is checked. The next two boxes, Display internet sites in Compatibility View and Display all websites in Compatibility View, should be unchecked. Deselect the options by unchecking the boxes. If checked, click the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View option to uncheck it. 5. Click the Close button. 6. The error message has been removed and you can now access the system. 7. This completes Turn Off Compatibility View: Using IE 9 when Receiving Browser Not Compatible Message. End of Procedure. Clearing Commonly Used Non Supported Browser's Internet Cache For information on how to clear the cache of commonly used, but non supported browsers, please see below. Please note LSU Health does not provide technical support for running the application in these browsers. REMINDER: To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized use of your System ID, 1) sign out of the self-service application, 2) clear the browser s cache and 3) close all web browser windows. Android To clear cache: 1. Start your browser. 2. Tap Menu, and then tap More. 3. Select Settings. 4. Under "Privacy settings", select Clear cache, and then tap OK to accept (or Cancel to cancel) the deletion Chrome 1. In the browser bar, enter: chrome://settings/clearbrowserdata 2. Select the Empty the cache. You can choose the period of time for which you want to clear cached information from the Obliterate the following items from: drop-down menu. To clear your entire cache, select the beginning of time. 3. Click Clear browsing data. Firefox 3.5 and above for Windows 1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History. 2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired ranges; to clear your entire cache, select Everything. Page 22
3. Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose Cache. Click Clear Now. Firefox 3 for Windows 1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History and then select Cache. 2. Click Clear Recent History. Firefox 3.5 and above for Mac OS X 1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History. 2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired ranges; to clear your entire cache, select Everything. 3. Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose which elements to clear. Click Clear Now. Firefox 3 for Mac OS X 1. In Firefox, from the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History. 2. Select Cache and then click Clear Private Data Now. Safari 1. From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari. 2. From the menu, select the items you want to reset, and then click Reset. As of Safari 5.1, Remove all website data covers both cookies and cache. Mobile Safari for iphone OS (iphone, ipod touch, ipad) To clear cache and cookies: 1. From the home screen, tap Settings, and then tap Safari. At the bottom of Safari's settings screen, tap the button for Clear Cache. To confirm, tap Clear Cache again. Page 23
