General Maintenance Make sure all nuts and bolts are secure before each use. Replace any worn or damaged parts with components from Lone Wolf. All bolts for this product are Grade 8. POLYURETHANE TRACTION BELT APPLICABLE TO: Alpha Sit & Climb and Alpha Hand Climber 1.) With a permanent marker write date of 1st use on each belt. 2.) Inspect belt before each use 3.) Replace every 5 years or when you observe any of the following: a.) belt has external cracks or tears visible b.) any internal cables are broken c.) any teeth are offset from normal pitch or are torn or cut CORRECT INCORRECT (dia. 1) (dia. 2) CORRECT INCORRECT (dia. 1a) (dia. 2a) Shown is the proper use of the traction belt for the Lone Wolf Climbers (dia 1). The polyurethane belts are designed to be used on the Lone Wolf products only. Always use your traction in the position that it is shown in dia 1. Never use the belt in this position (dia. 2). Use in this position can cause damage to the traction belt. WARNING: Point of arrow marks the end of the belt (dia. 2a). No part of the arrow should be showing after the cams are engaged (dia. 1a). Cam Tethers Step 1: Run the tether through the hole in the end of the cam. Step 2: Tie the ends together. Step 3: Pull the cord to the end of the slot. 29
Stabilizer Strap Installation Climber Seat Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. Step 1: For the HAND CLIMBER TOP SECTION take the short end of the stabilizer straps and take it over the casting in the front corner of the seat through the sewn loop. Step 2: Pull tight. Step 1: For the SIT AND CLIMB TOP SECTION, wrap the short end of the strap under the angled support arm at the location shown. Make sure the sewn loop is to the outside. Step 2: Thread the buckle in through the sewn loop and cinch it up tight. Rotate the stabilizer buckle so it points downward. 30
Stabilizer Strap Installation Climber Base Applicable to Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. Step 1: To install the straps on the STAND BASE thread the long end of the strap long end of the strap along the edge frame of the casting just in front of the brush pocket towards the rear. Step 2: Run the sewn loop through and pull tight. 31
Lone Wolf Climber PLATFORM Installation Applicable to Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. First, install the climber base. Step 1: Loosen the torque knobs and pull the hinge washer inward. Step 2: Then, push the hinge forward to the end of the slot. Step 3: Re-tighten the knobs. 32
Lone Wolf Climber PLATFORM Installation Applicable to Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. Step 4: Unlatch the cam. Step 5: Pull the belt from the tube. Step 6: Place around the tree. Adjust the stand platform slightly higher on the front end. 33 Step 7: Insert the belt back into the tube. NOTE: WARNING- point of arrow marks the end of the belt. No part of the arrow should be showing after the cams are engaged. Failure to follow these instructions could cause belt to disengage and cam to open. Now re-attach the cams firmly.
Lone Wolf Climber TOP SECTION Installation Applicable to Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. Step 1A: For the HAND CLIMBER flip the tubes over so they rest on the side of the seat casting. Step 1B: For the SIT AND CLIMB, loosen the torque knobs. Step 2: Pull the hinge washer inward. Step 3: Push the hinge forward to the end of the slot. 34
Lone Wolf Climber TOP SECTION Installation Applicable to Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. Step 4: Retighten the knobs. Now, you are ready to put your top section onto the tree. Step 5: Unlatch the cam and pull the belt from the tube. Step 6: Place the belt around the tree and insert into the tube. NOTE: WARNING- Point of arrow marks the end of the belt. No part of the arrow should be showing after the cams are engaged. Failure to follow the instructions may cause belt to disengage and cam to open. 35
Lone Wolf Climber TOP SECTION Installation Applicable to Alpha Hand Climber and Alpha Sit and Climb. Step 7: Now re-attach your cam firmly. Step 8: Connect your stabilizer straps. WARNING- the stabilizer straps must be connected before leaving the ground and must always remain connected while the treestand is in use. 36
Climbing Instructions Alpha Hand Climber Step 1: Harness to tree. Step 2: Support your weight onto the climbing aid. Step 3: Place your feet under the hinges and the bar as shown. Apply slight pressure to the hinge with the inside of the foot. Step 4: Bend at the knees to disengage stand. 37
Climbing Instructions Alpha Hand Climber Step 5: Keeping one foot under the hinge bar, step back onto the center of the stand with the other to secure it in place. Step 6: Slide the harness rope up the tree to the appropriate height. Step 7: Disengage the climbing aid, raise, and repeat the process. Step 8: When you reach your desired height or when the platform becomes level, adjust your harness rope height to it is tight while in a sitting position. Now while in a sitting position pull your stabilizing straps tight. 38
Climbing Instructions Alpha Sit & Climb Step 1: Step into center of from. Attach harness rope to tree and lift into postion to climb. Step 2: Distribute your weight onto climbing aid. Place feet under hinge and bar as shown. NOTE: Flip foam seat pad over one time, this will hold the seat in upright position. Step 3: Apply slight pressure to hinge with inside of foot. Bend at knees to disengage stand. Step 4: Pull stand up with legs. Reengage stand by shifting weight to heels. Slide harness rope up tree to appropriate height. Stand up and repeat process. 39
Alpha Hand Climber Back Packing Instructions Step 1: Fold the stand and seat down flat placing the two bolt heads into the stabilizer channel as shown. Step 2: Lay the top section of the Hand Climber on top of the platform. Step 3: Install the bungee cord and stabilizer straps as shown. 40
Alpha Hand Climber Back Packing Instructions Step 4: Criss cross stab straps. Step 5: This is the proper position for the Hand Climber to be back packed. 41
Alpha Sit and Climb Back Packing Instructions Step 1: The traction belts should be retracted into the tubes as far as possible with the cams in the locked position. Step 2: Fold the top and bottom flat and place the top upside down. Step 3: Place the Sit and Climb bar between the teeth and traction belt. Step 4: Lay the bar on 2 points of the teeth. 42
Alpha Sit and Climb Back Packing Instructions Step 5: Install the bungee cord and stabilizer straps as shown. Step 7: Criss-cross and connect the stabilizer straps. Pull them tight. Step 8: This is the proper position for back packing the Sit and Climb. 43
