Download the app to your smartphone. Open the app. The first screen you will see is Get Started. This screen explains what a cue is, and how you can incorporate the contents of this app into everyday moments. On the next screen, you will be prompted to select either preschool or elementary. If you have children in both age groups, you can always go back and purchase the other side of the app for an additional fee of $1.99.
You will be asked to confirm your selection. Once in the app, the first screen you will see is Today s Parent Cue. On different days of the week, you ll be prompted with different cues. If you wish to receive push notifications, make sure you select that option in your settings for the app.
The app is divided into five different times. PlayTime: Use when you are already playing with your preschooler to enhance his spiritual development. These activities will give you ideas of how to incorporate the Bible story review and the Bottom Line into natural playtime. BathTime: You re monitoring their bath time to keep them safe. Why not incorporate some fun Bible time into an already daily (or every other day) activity. DriveTime: Your preschooler is strapped in the seat and ready to go. Let him watch this week s Wonder! video or listen to this month s song as you drive down the road. CuddleTime: You know that special time that happens just as your preschooler wakes up from his nap or maybe right before he goes to bed that time when he wants to sit in your lap for some extra snuggles? That is the perfect time to pray with him and remind him how much God loves him. ParentTime: This time is just for you. ParentTime contains resources like blogs, a podcast, a video, and more to encourage and inspire you. Selecting DriveTime (Videos), CuddleTime, BathTime or PlayTime will take you to a table of contents screen where you will see all the monthly content for that time. Simply select the week s content you want to view.
Once you select the content, you ll be taken to the next screen where the content will open up and you ll be able to read the full cue. CuddleTime, BathTime, PlayTime and the video section of DriveTime all function in the same way. The DriveTime section is divided into two different categories Video and Song. The Video category features a weekly video telling of the Bible story. You ll also find a link to the Scripture passage so that you can read the Bible story as well.
In the Song section of DriveTime, you ll find a short demo of this month s preschool song. If you wish to purchase the song, simply go to www.amberskyrecords.com to buy the individual song from your computer. A mobile version of the Amber Sky Records store is not available at this time.
In the ParentTime section of the app, the This Month tab at the bottom of your phone s screen gives you a video overview of the monthly theme, and lets you know why we are discussing this subject with preschoolers and the unique way they process the truths we are discussing. You ll also see the Cue Feed. This is a log of all the cues for the month. So, if you ve missed something or your notifications are turned off, you can visit this page to see a summary of the cues that have been posted to the app. Each of our times is update on a specific day of the week. Here s the schedule: Sunday: New DriveTime video Monday: New CuddleTime prayer to pray over your child. Wednesday: New BathTime to review this week s Bible story or truth. Friday: New PlayTime activity to connect fun time with this week s truth. In the Articles section of ParentTime, you ll find blog posts from the OrangeParents.com website.
The Podcast section of ParentTime features a monthly podcast called Parent Link Live. Parent Link Live helps parents and church leaders understand how, by combining their influences, they can accomplish more for the spiritual wellbeing of a child than either could individually. The Twitter feed for ParentTime contains links or other tweets from followers of our Orange Parents Twitter account, @ParentingBeyond.
