He is great, very effective Please complete the following statements and answer the following questions. 7. My learning in this class was helped most by The amount of examples he had to explain these complex theories.

The discussions we had weekly about the chapters we read.!2 The discussion boards & teacher s clarification in class His willing & excitement of subject the in class discussions classroom discussion The essays Focusing on key points in class and discussing them. in class discussion 8. My learning in this class was hindered most by My lack of his vocab. to my vocab. Some of the articles in the Ethical Life book were very hard to understand due to the way it was written. readings in the Ethical Life were sometimes hard to read/understand. How smart he was. He was sometimes unclear on theories. Not because he didn t know them Just on how he taught them. He was all about the terms & facts. which is not bad! Just hard to comprehend at times The readings were hard to comprehend Reading Ethical Life book to[sic] hard The readings The readings in the ethical life. 9. The aspect of this class that most helped me take responsibility for my own learning was readings and online discussion boards

!3 The weekly discussion boar we got points for gave me an incentive to always read the weekly readings assigned Having to read the coming weeks material by Monday at 5:00pm The willingness of his help wanting a good grade class participation asking questions essays and studying The independent readings. The papers 10.The factor that was most important in preventing me from taking responsibility for my own learning was The lack of time i have to post on the discussion board 4 days before class Not trying to fully understand the reading material because I knew it would be clarified in class. How hard the readings were. Had to reread many time to understand my personal life reading? The online assignments 11.As a result of this class, I now understand that the area of my development as a learner that I most need to work on is

!4 My readings and understanding what I ve just read. time management getting understanding from reading the material efficiently slowing down and taking my time with my work finding more time to study having logic skills knowing formulas doing discussions online reading comprehension self-discipline 12.Overall, the moments in this course when I was the most engaged, excited, and involved as a learner where [sic] when Dr. Deke spoke about real life arguments abortion, drugs, vegetarians, etc. those were so interesting We held very controversial discussions about relevant topics where each person feels differently and strongly about. discussions in class The class discussion helped my understanding of material most. the class was very involved, and when Deke used his hilarious scenarios. I was involved in classroom discussions The class discussions we had good, in-class dialogues we had our in class discussions

13.Overall the moments in this course when I was most distanced, disengaged, and uninvolved as a learner were when!5 We read from the book The Ethical Life it was too complicated for me. We discussed topics I did not find interesting. when we talked about theories I didn t agree with/understand The discussion bored. I like to know what people think of my thoughts we neve went over them. We did the online class discussions. Doing logic. Online discussions online assignments 14.What would you most like to say about your experiences as a student in this course? I would like to address how much this class has helped me grow & think rationally and make smarter discussions. I enjoyed it very much, definitely my favorite class. It was a very eye-opening class! Most enterject teacher. Easy to talk to was great It was a new way to look at everyday life I enjoyed the class interaction and learning about some new things. It is a fun course and It opened my eyes to Philosophy & ethics

15.What piece of advice would you like to give the instructor on how to teach the course in the future? Throw The Ethical Life away :) Make sure to keep doing the discussion board posts and making sure we all get introduced to one another and engage in the discussions Keep up with the enthusiasm! Maybe try to explain the theories with less facts & more information & explanations then go into Fact when we understand Better. Maybe there should be more partner activities that could happen during group discussion. Super intelligent which I admire but sometimes I felt like he was to smart for me Some of the Reading I feel, were more advanced than a intro to philosophy 16.Do you have any other comments? Thanks for guidance through the class i don t think you realize how different my thinking is now. :) I really thought I would have a hard time understanding this class, but I ended up loving it! Dr. Deke is one of my favorite teachers I ve had yet! I really enjoyed His emotions & happiness! Would take this teacher again Nice challenge This was the hardest class I have ever taken Deke has a great teaching style very open and down to earth although it was hard he gave us information over and over again when we asked for it.!6

!7 I had a hard time with the online discussions. In fact, I only completed a couple. If the discussions were not so broad, I think my involvement would have been better. Essays helped me a lot and that s when I was able to understand the readings than any other way in class. I really can t think of anything to improve on. The class interactions are by far my favorite part. The in class discussions made this class well worth it. This class was able to take me out of my stressful life and into a different world.
