Ian Herbert is a Vice Chair of the British Computer Society (BCS) Health Executive, which oversees all activities of professional health informatics body, BCS Health. He now works as an independent consultant in health informatics, having worked for the NHS Information Management Group, and its successor, the NHS Information Authority, from 1989 to 2005. Richard Hadfield is managing director of Hadfield s Consultants Ltd and chair of Intellect s Education Group. In a past role at Logica, Richard s division was trusted to deliver a new assessment service for all people working with children and young people in England. In his past role at BT, Richard was part of the team that developed the 360m Home Access initiative to supply IT equipment and broadband to under privileged households. Richard works with senior civil servants, leading industry executives, academics and investors across all elements of the education and skills sector. Dr Glyn Hayes is a founder member of the British Computer Society (BCS) Primary Health Care Specialist Group; past Chair of the BCS Health Informatics Forum; a founder member and current President of the UK Council for Health Informatics Professions (UKCHIP). Roz Foad is current Chair of the British Computer Society Primary Healthcare Specialist Group; Past Vice Chair BCS Health Executive; and Elected Council Member, UKCHIP. Robin Noble is the former ICT manager; ICT development manager and IT contract monitoring officer for Royal Borough of Kingston Council. Healthcare IT Dr Glyn Hayes M.B.Ch.B, D.R.C.O.G., F.B.C.S. CITP Glyn has healthcare in his DNA. A GP in Worcester for 25-years and a health informatics professional for over 40 years, few people understand the role of ICT in the NHS and healthcare communities better than Glyn. Now an independent consultant and member of the Mantis Advisory Panel, Glyn can use his knowledge and expertise to support you. He specialises in product development the design, implementation, accreditation and evaluation of healthcare software solutions in the UK and internationally. He prides himself on making systems, which clinicians want to use, improving individual patient care by the application of IT. His other recent consultancies have included providing strategic advice to several IT companies exploring their place in the changing face of the NHS; clinical systems design; and development of examination questions for the NHS Information Governance (IG) Toolkit. He also became the Medical Director of one of the largest suppliers of IT to the English NHS in 1992 and retired from this post in 2000. Glyn is a founder member of the British Computer Society s Primary Health Care Specialist Group; he was its Chair from 1985 to 1990 and is currently its President. He has represented the UK on the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and was the chair of the Primary Care Working Group of IMIA. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the BCS in 2008 he has also been awarded the Rory O Moore Medal by the Irish Health Informatics Society for his contribution to health informatics.

Healthcare IT Ian Herbert Ian is a health informatics specialist with over 35-years of knowledge to share with you and your colleagues about the resources, devices and methods required to optimise the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in health. There are simply few people, if any that can rival Ian s volume of health informatics knowledge, particularly in his specialist areas of informatics terminology, standards, data modelling and its role in care pathways in primary care. Ian is unique in his ability to guide your business and the suitability of its products and services to support UK healthcare. Currently managing director of S I Herbert and Associates and the longest serving member of the Mantis Advisory Panel, Ian has held a number of high profile roles. Until 2005, he was a senior consultant working for the NHS on the National Programme for IT (NPfIT). Prior to that he worked for the NHS Information Management Group, and its successor, the NHS Information Authority. During that time he worked on the business requirements for community health and GP systems requirements for accreditation, and was a member of two European Ian is currently Vice Chair of BCS Health Partnerships ensuring that BCS Health, working with other stakeholders, plays its proper role in facilitating the effective deployment and use of informatics in healthcare. Ian was also Vice Chair of the BCS Health Informatics Forum, and of its predecessor, the BCS Health Informatics Committee, of which BCS health is a direct descendant. Ian is also director of IHE UK Ltd, and a member of its steering committee; he is director of ProRec UK Ltd; a board member of the NHS Faculty of Health Informatics; a committee member of the BCS Primary Healthcare Group for over 10 years, and has led its working group on Clinical Computing for much of that time. He is on the editorial board of Informatics in Primary Care, is a member of the BCS Information Privacy Expert Panel, and is a member of the BCS Information Security Specialist Group. He is currently an appraiser for the NHS Information Standards Board and a member of the Independent Advisory Group run by the Information Centre s General Practice [Data] Extraction Service, GPES.

Healthcare IT Roz Foad Roz Foad is your primary care health informatics expert. Now managing director of her own consultancy business, Roz has spent 26-years working in the NHS as a nurse, in hospital administration, general practice management and the Primary Care Trust (PCT) field. Roz specialises in health service projects, with specialist knowledge within the primary care field, with particular interest in primary care health informatics. Roz has a wealth of knowledge to share and a network of contacts in healthcare computing to match. This will help you win business in the NHS. Roz s most recent achievements include overseeing the full rollout of EMIS Web software to the whole of an East London PCT. This enables healthcare practitioners to move from using single server systems to an entirely new enterprise clinical system, allowing full data sharing between practices and primary care organisations. She achieved 100 per cent signup in 3 months and 64 out of 64 GP practices will go live before the end of October 2012. She previously achieved 100 per cent sign up of GPs in two PCTs to take part in National Programme for IT s (NPfIT) e-booking system (Choose and Book). She project managed the design and introduction of a VPN between GP practices and branches to run clinical systems across the national N3 network; and she managed the roll out of N3 across all sites in two PCTs. Roz has mostly recently worked for Newham PCT and supplier EMIS. She was also an IM&T service manager for West Hertfordshire PCT, primary liaison manager for West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust and IT Support Officer for St Albans and Harpenden and Hertsmere PCTs. Roz is currently chair of BCS Primary Healthcare Specialist Group which runs two conferences a year, has an active electronic discussion list, and produces the Medline listed journal Informatics in Primary Care, She is also an elected council member of UKCHIP (UK Council for Health Informatics Professionals). She is a member of BCS ASSIST (association for informatics professionals in health and social care); and a member of the Institute of Health Services Management. She has been Vice Chair of BCS Health Executive and a member of the organising board of the NHS Faculty of Health Informatics.

Local Government and Central Government Robin Noble An independent consultant with 20 years experience, Robin is your local government expert and core member of the Mantis Advisory Panel. A former head of ICT at Royal Borough of Kingston Council, Robin has also held development and contract management roles with Kingston. More recently, he has undertaken consultancy assignments with a range of local authorities including London Boroughs, a shared service partnership in Yorkshire and a Council in the North West Robin specialises in local government business transformation, technology and customer service projects and uses those skills to support your efforts at winning new business by sharing local government insight and providing procurement support, product / service suitability reviews and tender reviews. At the Royal Borough of Kingston, Robin was responsible for all corporate ICT. Education Richard Hadfield Richard lives and breathes education ICT. Currently managing director of his own strategic consulting firm, Richard continues to win, design and deliver ICT and consulting projects that benefit the entire education ecosystem teaching and lecturing staff, pupils & young people, administrators and Government. A committed member of the Mantis Advisory Panel, Richard can share the knowledge and experience he has gained over 15-years to help support your business in the education market. Richard s core skills and the biggest contribution he can make to your business focuses on support for development of business strategy, new business development and go-to-market activities. Richard specialises in enabling IT and consulting organisations to successfully contract and partner with the public sector. In recent year s Richard was responsible for the design and delivery of a new, common assessment service for 360,000 people who work with children and young people, as well as helping to enable the changing nature of school, college and childcare regulation and inspection. He was a key figure in the delivery of a nationwideshared service that will help provide a trusted source of qualification information for over 10 million users and an easier route to training, work placement or a job. Plus, he helped to develop, with a small group of senior civil servants, a 360m initiative (Home Access) to bridge the digital divide and supply IT equipment and broadband to under privileged households through English schools. Richard s past roles include high profile positions with Logica and BT Global Services. Currently, he is Chair of Intellect s Education Group. More locally, to where Richard lives, he is an instrumental figure in the Oxford New School project, an ambitious plan to open a new free school to boys and girls, in September 2014, offering a 21st Century education for all. He is also a governor at one of Oxford s largest primary schools.
