Galaxy ADA DICOM 3.0 Appliance Overview What is the Galaxy ADA Archive Solution: The Galaxy ADA archive appliance is a robust DICOM 3.0 storage archive solution. It is not a mini-pacs or a vendor neutral archive, rather it has been purpose-built for the storing, retrieval and long term archiving of DICOM 3.0 images. The product can be sold up front as an add-on to a new modality sale and is also positioned as the in-the-field replacement for installed, aging Magneto-optical drive towers (MOD) that are now EOL. Why do customers need to consider buying the Galaxy ADA appliance:» DICOM 3.0 compatible» Network attach 2TB RAID w/integrated archive» Removable 50GB Advanced Disc for Archive Media» Options to transfer data from MOD to ADA Media» The Galaxy ADA is positioned as the replacement product for the widely installed MOD-based solutions» MO drives and media are EOL and effectively obsolete» Many MO drive service contracts are maturing and FRU/parts availability is approaching zero» By definition MO media is no longer DICOM compliant since there are no OEMs for the media or drives» There are media conversion services available to convert older MOD to ADA media as well The ADA appliance provides a combination online storage capacity for DICOM 3.0 images for multiple approved users and modalities, as well as automated in the background archiving of the images within a department or a facility. Duplicate disc copies can be easily created; one copy for on-site image archive retrieval, as well as an off-site copy for disaster recovery purposes. The system is designed with a small physical footprint measuring just 8.26 in (w) x 8.46 in (h) x 11.98 in (d).

Galaxy ADA: A simple-to-use, best practice ARCHIVE for DICOM How does a user find studies? Two Methods;» Use a DICOM Workstation to query / retrieve What DICOM systems can it connect to? If the modality system is attached to the LAN then;» All DICOM 3.0 Modalities should be supported» A Web-based GUI for Healthcare staff is provided Password protected access to the archive Database query and retrieve based on DICOM metadata Patient name, Patient ID, Sex, Modality, Study Type etc.» All DICOM Workstation / Viewers should be supported» All PACS / mini-pacs systems should be supported» JPEG viewing also supported on any workstation with permissions DICOM Conformance Statements should be compared to confirm compatibility» Provides unlimited archive capacity» Provides a fast archive for most recently written or accessed studies, uses a mirrored hard disk cache» Provides a secure, searchable archive for all studies, using optical media in a cartridge (ADA from Panasonic)

Galaxy ADA: Product Positioning The Galaxy ADA DICOM archive appliance delivers best-in-class integrated storage functionality and class-leading value all backed with the stability and quality assurance of Avnet, Inc; a $25B global distributor and integrator of IT solutions and components. As an Avnet company, Rorke Data has provided thousands of Galaxy storage solutions to healthcare OEMs and channel partners for over 20 years. Galaxy DICOM Appliance vs. Competition» MSRP below $8,000 USD» RAID protected NAS (Network Attached Storage) with integrated automated archiving and DICOM 3.0 support» Removable media for offsite vaulting and disaster recovery vs. RAID only» System can track media offline on the shelf so users can grow their archive as needed» Basic DICOM storage functionality ADA is not a Mini-PACS» Media life 50 years vs. tape under 30 years» Codonics Infinity C-series does not include archiving or media management» Candelis IMED-Stor series is single modality only: Galaxy ADA supports multi-modality environments

Galaxy ADA: Integrated Cartridge-based Archiving w/panasonic ADA Advanced Disc for Archive (ADA) Media by Panasonic employ archive-grade discs enclosed in a protective case using the widely supported Blu-ray Disc format. ADA removable media support best practice archiving by retaining critical data in multiple locations on more than one type of storage medium for optimal security and disaster recovery protection. Cartridge-Based Optical Archiving» Secure and reliable for long-term storage» Removable media as best practice» MO and DVD-RAM customers need a replacement format» Natural evolution to next generation, larger capacity media» Lower cost/gb than MO» Industry-standard Blu-ray format» Durable inorganic phase change disc construction» Selected low error rate discs, 50+ years media life» ADA Disc ID guarantees authenticity» Encased for additional protection» Global Blu-ray standard, future roadmap

Galaxy ADA: Media Conversion Options Data Conversion Service Options What is Data Conversion: Is the process of extracting images that are stored on older EOL media such as Magneto Optical Disc (MOD), converting images into DICOM 3.0-ready files, and transferring them to the Galaxy ADA Appliance. How Is The Conversion Process Done: The service is performed off-site, in secure labs, using our proprietary software that reads and converts both non-dicom images as well as DICOM files on older media. Customers will need to FedEx us their data. We will return their original media along with a USB drive containing their data. They can connect this drive to their new ADA drive and consolidate old and new studies. It is safe to send data off-site. We will ask all customers to sign a Business Associate Agreement that ensures all parties are HIPAA compliant and treat the patient information with confidentiality and care. Access to archived studies is needed The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 gives patients the right to access their own medical records. The State Department of Health and Human Services requires healthcare providers to supply medical records within 30 days of request. State legislation requires storage and access of medical records ranging from 5 to 11 years for adults, and 7 years to life for minors. Convert and consolidate your old MOD s* to ADA @ratio of 20:1! = 1 * Note: MOD drives are obsolete, don t risk patient data on EOL archive media formats-upgrade to the Galaxy ADA today and convert and consolidate your long term archival studies on to industry standard, cartridge protected ADA media.
