3 Purpose of the Form I-9 Form I-9 is a federal compliance requirement The purpose of the form is to verify employee Identity Authorization to work in the United States 4 What is E-Verify? A federal website to verify that an employee is eligible to work in the United States E-Verify to be submitted before work begins Federal rule, no later than the third work day E-Verify steps will be done in I-9Compliance 2
