TRUST TRAINING COOPERATIVE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Instructions: For submitting training, conference, and course information for listing in the LMS catalog Welcome to the Trust Training Cooperative (TTC) Learning Management System (LMS), an online resource for training and educational opportunities in Alaska for providers who serve Trust beneficiaries. The TTC LMS is a collaboration of The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, UAA, UAS-Sitka, UAF and The Trust beneficiary providers statewide. The TTC LMS is a web-based system that offers a one-stop shop for various types of training opportunities. Components include: Online catalog of trainings, staff development and academic courses in Alaska Email notification of training opportunities in the User s expressed Interest Areas On-line registration or links to complete the training registration process E-Portfolio a history of completed trainings and courses As a user of this system you will be able to list, find, register, and pay for trainings, conferences, and academic courses; be notified of upcoming trainings in your chosen interest areas; and use your own E-Portfolio to track and record completed training and education. Listing a training, conference, and/or academic course To list an item in the catalog, you may go to the LMS web page at www.ttclms, click on Submit a training or conference, complete the information, and then submit it to the LMS Team. You will be notified about your submission by email within one week of its receipt. Step One - Go to the web page: http://www.ttclms.org Adapted 25Nov2009 mjd 1 of 5

Step Two - Complete page one of the form: Adapted 25Nov2009 mjd 2 of 5

Tips Title: The full title of the training, conference, or academic course as it should be listed in the catalog. This title should be exactly the same as the training is listed every other place. Course number (if applicable): This should be the number and department designation assigned to the academic course by the approving college or university Offered by: Enter the name of the sponsoring organization, agency, or program that is funding the training. Training Contact s First Name: Training Contact s Last Name: Training Contact s Phone: Training Contact s e-mail: In order for us or participants to seek more information, we need to be able to contact the instructor, or other person who can tell us additional details about the course. Is this a training, conference or academic course? This pull-down will give you the choice of: o a training (can be one hour, day, week and may offer contact hours) o a conference (usually consists of a number of concurrent sessions over a day or more and may offer contact hours) o academic course (offers academic credits through a college or university) Are credits or contact hours offered? # of credits: # of contact hours: This refers to academic credits or continuing education contact hours. Is this a one-time event or will it be repeating? If you will offer this identical training several times, you will indicate that it is repeating. You can put the additional offering dates, times, and places in the space called Notes, near the bottom of the first page. We will enter the additional offerings of the identical training. If you will be offering a series of similar trainings, but they are each unique, you will indicate that it is a one time training and fill out a form for each training. Then indicate in the Notes box that the trainings are a series or Program. Cost: How much will participants need to pay for this training, conference, or academic course? Target Audience: This pull-down offers you the choice of: o direct support workers (those whose jobs require less than an academic Associate s Degree for entry level and who do not supervise others) o supervisors (those whose jobs require them to supervise one or more employees) o other professionals (those whose jobs require them to have an academic Associate s degree or above for entry level) Adapted 25Nov2009 mjd 3 of 5

Will registration be done through the LMS? If the training being listed will ask participants to register through the LMS, the LMS Team will follow up this form with the training contact person to arrange the registration process. These LMS registered-participants will become users and thus be able to take advantage of the notifications of trainings, and the E-Portfolio, and other LMS services. Description: In this section, you should put all of the details that you want users to know about the training, conference, or academic course so that they can make an informed decision to take or not to take it. This information will be given to users when they indicate that they are interested in registering for the class and want more information. Mini Description: This one to two sentence description will be what users and non-users first see in the catalog about the training/ conference/ academic course. It should draw their interest. It must also be exactly the same as it is listed in the catalog of the college or university granting academic credit if it is an academic course. Days of the week: Time: Start Date: End Date: City: In these areas you want to let the user know exactly when and in which city the course/conference/training will take place. If the training is delivered through distance format, put the word Distance-Delivered in the box for city. If the training is repeated exactly at other times and places, please note this information in the Notes box. Location: This box will allow you to identify exactly where in a city the course/conference/training will take place. For example: UAS Sitka campus, room 106. Registration details: This is where you will let users know if they are to: o register within the LMS o to register within the LMS and then also at a college or university o to contact a person in your program to have that person register them o register before a certain date o to be part of a particular group to register for this training o apply to a contact person to be considered for registration o etc. Notes: Here you may write notes, questions, and comments to the LMS Team. These notes will not be published in the catalog. Maximum number of participants: If your training must cap the number of participants, put that number here. If the number is unlimited leave the number 999 in the box. Adapted 25Nov2009 mjd 4 of 5

Step Three - Complete page two of the form: Interest Areas: We would like you to indicate all of the interest areas in which we should list your training/conference/academic course. Then users who are looking through the catalog in each interest area will see those listings that fit in each interest area. Also, users are notified by email of upcoming trainings in each interest area in which they indicate interest. All listings are entered into the Full Catalog. Click the Submit button and the listing will be reviewed by the LMS Team. You will be notified about your submission by email within one week of its receipt. Adapted 25Nov2009 mjd 5 of 5
