SHARED SERVICES INVENTORY October 2014 At BCSTA s 2014 Annual General Meeting the membership passed Resolution 13: That BCSTA gather examples of shared services of operational efficiencies and partnerships that Boards of Education throughout the province already have in place and provide a summary of this information to BCSTA members. SD40 (New Westminster) SD40, SD49 and SD84 currently share a Director of Business Operations (0.50, 0.25, 0.25). SD40 and SD41 submitted a joint RFP covering student transportation services for a three (3) year period beginning July 1, 2014. SD40 and SD41 jointly procured computer hardware and software in the spring of 2014 and are considering other joint procurements. Standardized contract pricing has been negotiated for LED lighting, continuous optimization projects, energy management software and energy consultants. Facilities 1. Grass Cutting/Facility Bookings all school district field maintenance, including grass cutting, is done by the City of Richmond in exchange for the ability to book community rentals (scouts, cadets, sports groups, etc) in school facilities. 2. Cambie High School/Cambie Community Centre shared facility. 3. Hamilton Elementary School/Hamilton Community Centre shared facility. 4. Richmond High artificial turf fields cost shared with the City of Richmond when built, jointly programmed by SD and City, replacement will be paid for by City. 5. Hugh Boyd artificial turf fields built by City and jointly programmed by SD and City. 6. Most of the playgrounds in our elementary schools are joint SD/City playgrounds. Shared funding to build, City maintains the majority of them and continues to invest in upgrades. Human Resources 1. Make a Future Other Partnerships 1.
