Thin Bed Resolution Using RECON s HDD The log example above, from the Viola Limestone, is a good example of how HDD enhances thin bed response in interbedded Limestone/Dolomite sequences. The 20 Scale HDD (40 Samples/ft) log clearly shows increased porosity, clearer bed boundaries, more accurate lithology indentification, and greater pay thickness than the corresponding 5 Scale (10 Samples/ft) main pass log. The Pe curve on the HDD log visibly indicates that the porous zones are dolomitized (Pe = 3 3.5) and the tight zones in between are limestone (Pe = 5) compared to the Pe response on the 5 log. Also of note is the top interval at 5,395 to 5,398 where the Pe goes to 2.4 indicating a sandstone interval; Pe response on the 5 Main Pass log does not respond as accurately.

Through - Casing Reservoir Evaluation Dual Spaced Neutron Dual Space Density (GR-DSN-DSD) Log example displays the accuracy and resolution of the cased-hole neutron and density porosity to the open-hole curves. Track 2 displays the DPSS (CH) overlain on the DPSS (OH) curve.
Through - Casing Reservoir Evaluation Coal Quality (Proximate) Analysis (GR-DSN-DSD) RECON offers quantitative coal analysis, through-casing, using bulk density logging, an accredited method of determining coal quality. Coal proximate analysis of density data allows for the determination of ash volume, moisture volume, fixed carbon and volatile matter, properties that define the coal type and rank. The raw log plot, as captured in the field, is displayed above. The bulk density and neutron porosity flag the coals, sands and carbonaceous shale intervals. The bulk density response may be used to derive coal quality, as shown on the right. The raw log data from neutron and bulk density responses may be analyzed to determine coal rank / quality. Estimates of ash volume, fixed carbon, moisture and volatile matter are determined. With the inclusion of de-sorption data from cuttings or core, localized in-situ derived gas-in-place and gas content per seam may be estimated.
Sector Array Cement Bond Log RECON s slim -hole 1 11/16 O.D CBL-SBT logging service can be deployed through wellheads and tubing to log in casing without rig intervention. HDD resolution provides comprehensive cement maps, VDL and bond quality data from multiple attenuation and amplitude measurements.
HDD Cased Hole Logging - Filtrate Invasion Profile Using HDD to resolve invasion profiles and locate masked pay in newly drilled wells is possible. Filtrate invasion profiles may be delineated, providing the ability to locate masked gas sands and locate water sands. Drilling fluid invasion can alter the immediate wellbore region leading to inaccurate assessment of potential hydrocarbon zones. Over time, drilling fluids will be displaced by hydrocarbon returning back to the immediate wellbore region thus altering the neutron response from the initial time that the open-hole data was acquired. In the example shown, the HDD neutron response is displayed in Track 2 along with the initial open-hole neutron response. Track 3 displays the cased-hole neutron - density response across the sands and the prolific gas effect matches to the neutron saturation changes.

HDD Production Logging Coal Bed Methane With HDD, RECON can resolve individual gas contributions down to 0.05e3m3 (1.76mcf/d) or less, providing you with the assurance you need to assess reservoir performance and book reserves. The resolution of this Production Logging Service can actually be used to measure gas inflow through standing columns of water and measure individual perforation tunnel velocities!
HDD Production Logging Vertical Well Application East Texas well produces higher water volume than expected Qg 1,400 MSCFD & Qw 1100 STBD. The client suspected water leaking into wellbore from an above location. RECONs High Definition Production Log service verifies the zone of interest interval matches surface rates & the water invasion comes from a watered out perforated interval. East Texas well produced approximately Qg 700 MSCFD & Qw 150 STBD. RECONs High Definition Production Log service evaluated these surface rates with a high degree of accuracy. The client was able to use RECONs data to shut off their wellbore water production.
HDD Production Logging - Horizontal Well Application RECON s HDD Production Logging service leads the industry with the smallest foot print for Horizontal well deployment (1 3/8 OD 25 ft length). This platform can be deployed in memory mode on Slickline or Coiled Tubing, or in SRO Mode on E-Line, E-Coil & Tractor. In Horizontal environments RECON s HDD Production Logging can measure & image the flowing Holdup & Entry across the lateral section. The platform is ideal to pin point water breakthrough regions or measure the performance of the lateral section. The versatility of RECON s HDD Production Logging platform allows for low deployment costs. RECON s HDD Production Logging platform employs 3 Fluid ID sensors (Capacitance, Density, Density Holdup), Pressure, Fast response Temperature & Holdup Array sensors. The log on the left is a horizontal well flowing at Qw 1500 bbl & Qg 100 MCFD. RECON s High Definition Density Holdup, Capacitance, Density, Fast Response Temperature and Flowmeter determine in-flows of gas from the toe. Production was impeded by water holding up in the lateral. In the middle of the lateral section, a fault flows water into the well. The fault was later verified by seismic processing. The client remediated the middle section of the well, impeding water flow which allowed the section of gas to flow easier from the toe.
HDD Production Logging - Horizontal Well Application The log below is a horizontal well producing from a Shale Gas formation originally making Qg~ 4 MMSCFD when a water break through occurred producing Qw~5000 BBL/Day. A competitor ran a Horizontal Production Log but data was inconclusive of where the water was flowing into the wellbore, the client then called out RECON s HD-PLT Service. RECON s High Definition Production Log deployed with a Well Tractor consisting of a 3 Fluid ID sensors (High Definition Holdup, Fluid Capacitance, Fluid Density), Temperature, Pressure & Flowmeter was able to clearly locate the break through interval with a High Degree of Confidence.
