Initial List of Programmes: A flexible, ini1al and non- exhaus1ve list... This indica1ve list builds on the experience gained through the Marrakech Process, including those areas iden1fied in the regional SCP roundtables, strategies and ac1on plans, inter alia: i. Consumer informa1on; ii. Sustainable lifestyles and educa1on; iii. Sustainable public procurement; iv. Sustainable buildings and construc1on; v. Sustainable tourism, including ecotourism. 10YFP programmes The 10- year framework should draw on valuable aspects of such experiences as the Marrakech Process, the Strategic Approach to Interna1onal Chemicals Management and na1onal cleaner produc1on centres. The ongoing ac1vi1es of the Marrakech Process, such as the task forces, should be considered for integra1on into the structure of the 10- year framework of programmes; (A/CONF.216/5 para2.b)
(a) Contribute to mee1ng the goals and principles of the 10YFP, as well as to the three dimensions of sustainable development; (b) Respond to na6onal and regional needs, priori6es and circumstances; (c) Be based on life cycle approaches, including resource efficiency and sustainable use of resources, and related methodologies, (d) Be based on a solid scien6fic and policy knowledge base; (e) Be transparent; Programme Criteria (f) Be consistent with interna1onal obliga1ons, including, where applicable, the rules of the World Trade Organiza1on; A/CONF.216/5 para 7 4

(g) Encourage the involvement of all relevant stakeholders; (h) Consider the use of a mix of efficient instruments such as educa1on, training and data collec1on, as well as research, as appropriate; (i) Have established clear objec6ves and measures of success; (j) Promote synergies with work in similar areas, in order, inter alia, to promote co- benefits and opportuni6es to leverage resources towards mutual objec1ves and minimize duplica6on of ongoing efforts, (k) Be described in a simple common format, covering the programme criteria men1oned above and iden1fying lead actors. 10YFP Programmes Programmes will serve as umbrellas that bring together exis1ng and/or develop new ini1a1ves and partnerships to fill capacity and knowledge needs and gaps. They will build synergies and coopera1on between stakeholders, and allow scaling up and replica1on of policies, voluntary measures, management prac1ces, and partnerships promo1ng the shid to SCP paeerns, They will use a mix of policies and engage all stakeholders: governments, business, consumers and other major groups. Programmes are expected to deliver capacity building and technical support as necessary/requested at all levels: regional, sub- regional, na1onal and local.

Sustainable Public Procurement The Sustainable Public Procurement Ini1a1ve (SPPI) (which is built on the Marrakech Task Force) is formally applying to become the 10YFP Programme on SPP. A drad concept note is being finalized and will be public for consulta1ons with all stakeholders (including Board, NFP, IACG and stakeholders focal points). Partners: Members of the SPPI Mul1stakeholder Advisory Commieee and lead organiza1ons of SPPI thema1c working groups, and other members of SPPI (including governmental organisa1ons).

Sustainable Lifestyles & Education Iden1fying key partners interested in co- leading the research and stock taking. We hope the programme will be the channel for the con1nua1on of the UN Decade of Educa1on for Sustainable Development (DESD, 2005-2014) for SCP related topics. The 2014 World Conference on ESD in Nagoya will offer a great opportunity to engage more actors in the programme.
Sustainable Building & Construction Iden1fying key partners interested in co- leading the research and stock taking. Ini1al research and stock taking has started through the Advocacy Commieee of UNEP- SBCI (Sustainable Building and Climate Ini1a1ve), including iden1fica1on of tools and strategies to support implementa1on of sector specific policies, and to iden1fy building sector components of na1onal and regional SCP strategies. Will also include the work of the UNEP- SBCI Task Force on Supply Chains which is mapping and iden1fying priori1es, actors, rela1onships and poten1al green interven1ons in the building sector supply chain.
