In case of non-availability of eligible/ suitable women candidate(s) belonging to the respective category, the unfilled vacancies of that category shall be filled up by eligible/ suitable male candidate(s) of the same category. Guidelines and terms and conditions for the above mentioned teaching positions 1. Qualifications and Experience (I) A. (i) PROFESSOR An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 (ten) publications as books and/or research/ policy papers.

4 A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/ College, and/or experience in research at the University/ National level institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level. (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology - mediated teaching learning process. (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in Appendix III of UGC Regulation 2010 and subsequent Amendment of 2013. B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials. (II) READER OR (i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/ allied/ relevant disciplines. A Master s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). (iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/ research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/ industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. (iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology - mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. (v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in Appendix III of UGC Regulation 2010 and subsequent Amendment of 2013. (III) LECTURER (i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like ET/ SET. (iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in (i) and, candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree)

Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ ET/ SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions. (iv) NET/ ET/ SET shall not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/ ET/ SET is not conducted. (v) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master s level for the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and Visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedures. (vi) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master s degree prior to 19 September, 1991. Note: Subject to the approval of the Government of Odisha in the Department of Higher Education, the post of lecturer and Reader may be re-designated as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor, respectively in accordance with the UGC regulation 2010. 2. Scale of Pay Professor : Rs 37,400/- - Rs 67,000/- +AGP Rs 10,000/- Reader : Rs 37,400/- - Rs 67,000/- +AGP Rs 9,000/- (With 5 years as a Reader or in the equivalent post with an AGP of Rs.8,000/-) Reader : Rs 15,600/- - Rs 39,100/- +AGP Rs 8,000/- (Less than 5 years as a Reader) Lecturer : Rs 15,600/- - Rs 39,100/- +AGP Rs 6,000/- 5 3. Age of Superannuation: 60 years 4. A printout of the filled in online application along with the required documents needs to be sent to the OSD, Faculty Recruitment, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack 753 003 by SPEED POST ONLY. The envelope containing application should be superscribed with APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF IN THE SUBJECT.

The last date of filling up online application form is 20.02.2016. The last date for receipt of the printed application, submitted online, along with relevant documents is 29.02.2016. 5. Documents to be enclosed along with the printout of the application form, submitted online 6 (i) Self attested photocopies of certificates and mark sheets of all examinations passed. Self attested photocopies of certificates in support of the claim of reservations. (iii) API score certified by the competent authority (not applicable for the post of Lecturer). (iv) Proof of payment of application fee of Rs.1000/-. (v) Photocopies of other academic achievements and research work (vi) Candidates who are in service may send their application as Advance copy. However, a copy of the application through proper channel is required to be sent so as to reach the university before conduct of the interview. (vii) Candidates applying for the post of Reader are required to submit the reprints of their five major publications. (viii) Candidates applying for the post of Professors are required to submit the reprints of their ten major publications. 6. Other conditions (i) Candidates intending to apply for different posts are required to apply separately and pay required application fee of Rs.1000/- separately for each application in favour of Ravenshaw University through online payment gateway. No TA/DA will be paid by the University for appearing before the selection committee. (iii) Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of the candidate will lead to disqualification of the candidature. (iv) Applications received incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected and no communication on that count shall be entertained.
