It is not allowed to do maintenance work on electrical contacts and connectors when they are energized. Maintenance work should only be done by qualified personal! It is not allowed to use detergents, which perhaps damage the material of the electrical contacts and connectors or their surfaces. Unfit for consumption! The contact lubrication improves the mechanical properties of contact systems. An additional cleaning of the contact surfaces is recommended. With a respective care you can minimize the mechanical wear and reduce the insertion and withdrawal forces. The cleaning and lubrication intervals should be adjust to the individual conditions. General information: The service intensity of electrical contacts and connectors depends on more than one factor (e.g. temperature range, ambient conditions, ambient mediums, application, mating frequency,...). For special applications (e.g. alternative temperature range, pollution, ) you have to consult the producer of the electrical contacts/ connectors. It s possible, that there are differences between the service intervals and the maintenance. Maintenance: You should make generally a preventive, visual inspection (pic.i) after each 10.000 mating cycles and coupling cycles respectively. You can also define an according time frame which is similarly to the recommend mating cycles. For cleaning of electrical contacts and connectors use only a clean, non fuzzing cloth (pic.ii) or the enclosed cleaning brush (pic.iii). The contacts are factory-side lubricated by spray lubrication with a special contact lubricant. Dependent on the pollution and the wear a re-lubrication can be necessary after a cleaning cycle. The re-lubrication must be occur at the latest after 50.000 mating and coupling cycles respectively. For re-lubrication the lubricant is recommend which is factory-side used. The easiest way for the lubricant-coating is dip coating on the pin-side (pic.ivb) to get a constant lubricating film. Isn t it possible to realise a lubrication by dip coating, you can also use a suitable additive (pic.iva) (e.g. aerosol can, pipette, ). If you use an aerosol can, you can also grease the socket-side. Lubrication by dip coating on the socket-side isn t allowed. The contact surfaces shouldn t been touched after cleaning and lubrication and shouldn t been exposed gratuitous dirt. Damaged or wore parts (contacts, housing,...) should been changed immediately and only replaced by original parts. Dependent on the product and user specification you can also use an alternative lubricant. For more details please contact us.
