Example Emails for collecting testimonials In this document I have included example emails that have worked well for Learning Everyday and as a result we have many testimonials to use for our specific services. These emails worked for us and hopefully they will help you to pull together a few templates for using in your business. There s no need to copy the content directly, and perhaps the best course of action is to take the bits you think are best. Remember that the key aspect is to get into the habit of collecting feedback as part of your keeping customers strategy. I hope these help you to gather more testimonials and grow your business. Don t forget to be awesome!

Email one This email was used to collect testimonials after a marketing workshop Hey << Test First Name >>, Thanks again for deciding to come along to the Marketing Academy last week, it was really great to work with you. As a valued client, I wonder if I could ask a small favour? I m just about to start pulling a small marketing campaign together, to hopefully find some more people like you, who appreciate what I do. I was working through my list of testimonials and I don't have one from you as yet. I was hoping that you might be kind enough to jot something down that you d be happy for me to use in my marketing material? If you have just a couple of minutes, I d REALLY appreciate it if you could let me have your thoughts on the whole experience. There s no need to write a book, just a few words or a couple of lines will be more than enough. I know exactly what it s like being asked to write something and staring at a blank piece of paper, so here s some questions for inspiration...please be as personal as you'd like to be: Were you sceptical before you decided to attend the Academy? Please explain why you felt that way. Why did you decide to take the plunge and buy? What was the key to that decision? What have been the 3 biggest benefits to you and your business? What kind of problems has, or will, the Academy solve for you and your business? Who would you recommend the Academy to, and why? Is there anything else that I should know!? Just hit reply to this email and let me have it! Thanks for your time, PS - If you ve got a photo of yourself that you d be happy to accompany your testimonial in my marketing, then that would be the icing on the cake!

Email two This email was used to get testimonials for a new service that we were about to start offering. Hi << Test First Name >>, It was great to speak to you earlier. I hope you enjoyed our call and got value from it. I have a favour to ask and I hope you can help. In the very near future I will be charging a small fee for calls similar to what we have had today, simply because my time is becoming less and less available. Here's my ask...it would be great to get a testimonial from you that I can add to the webpage. Perhaps you could reply and string a few sentences together? I know that it can be difficult starting with a blank screen, so here are some questions that you could use to frame your thoughts around: What did you expect from the call beforehand? What did you get from the call now that we've had it? Would you recommend people to have a call with me in the future? What did you like the most about the call? (delivery, advice, style, etc) Would you be prepared to pay for call like this in the future? I really appreciate your help with this and I look forward to hearing from you. Best,

Email three This email was used after the first workshop we ran of this kind Hi << Test First Name >>, Thanks again for coming along this morning and taking time out of your day to work with me on content marketing. A few people have already mentioned that they really enjoyed it - I hope you found it useful too. I have NOT added you to my mailing list. If you would like me to keep in touch with you please click here and add your details to the list. I normally send out a few emails a month with new blogs, podcasts and video we've been working on - all related to marketing for small businesses. Because this was the first workshop we've done of this kind I'd really appreciate a bit of feedback from you so I can share your experience with others. Perhaps you could reply and string a few sentences together? I know that it can be difficult starting with a blank screen, so here are some questions to get you off and running. You could frame your thoughts around: What did you expect from the workshop before you came along? What did you think of the workshop now that you have attended? Would you recommend people you know to come along in the future? What did you like the most about the workshop? Will you return for another similar workshop in the future? Also, if there's anything else you feel I should know please hit reply and give it to me - I'm always open to feedback and finding out what's on your mind. I'm really looking forward to hearing back from you. Don't forget to be awesome!

Email four This email was used to drive reviews to our Facebook page. Perhaps it could be improved by asking specific questions. We them copied the Facebook reviews and displayed them on our website. Hey * FNAME *, Thanks again for coming along to The Surgery in St Andrews last night. It was a really good event with excellent contribution from everyone. Thanks for your input and joining in on the discussions. There has been a lot of great feedback and I have a favour to ask you and I'll give you something in return for your effort. I'd like to invite you to leave a review on my Facebook page, which you can find by clicking here - http://on.fb.me/1dtoyze. I'll keep an eye out for your review coming through and as a way of saying thanks I'll give you a free ticket for the next surgery which you can either use yourself, or use to invite a friend or business partner. How does that sound, * FNAME *? I look forward to hearing from you on Facebook. Have a great day! PS. Here's the link again - http://on.fb.me/1dtoyze PPS. Remember to use the review section on my Facebook page.
