FM Certification Policy Updates Academic Matrix SLG approved a modification to current policy such that higher level academic courses may be applied to lower-level certification levels For example, Master s-level courses may be used to satisfy Level 1 & 2 requirements instead of only Level 3 Delegation of academic course approval: Credit for academic courses that are not close matches to the Academic Matrix will be delegated to the Governing Body Tiger Team FM Certification requirements for DAWIA-coded Positions (BUS-FM, BUS-CE, Audit) Reduced curriculum in LMS used for members in dual-coded positions if DAWIA level is equal to or higher than the FM Certification level An MFR signed by a DACM can be used for documentation when ALL required Acquisition training is complete, but the FM member does not have enough experience to obtain Acquisition Certification https://fmonline.ousdc.osd.mil/
FM Certification Policy Updates (cont) CET Non-compliance Consequences Senior Leader Group agreed to expand current policy that provides consequences for not obtaining certification to consequences for not obtaining or maintaining If member does not obtain or maintain, may request a time waiver (in one year increments) from the CCA; if time extension is not approved member is subject to adverse actions FMers on non-fm assignment Not coded for certification; may complete certification training to prepare to achieve certification soon after being placed on FM-coded position Voluntary pursuit of higher level of certification than current position requires Not currently available; however, as part of earning CETs for current certification member may complete certification training required by next level to prepare to achieve higher level certification soon after being placed on a position requiring it https://fmonline.ousdc.osd.mil/ 13
Other Employee Policy FM Term employees (non-permanent employee with an appointment between 1-4 years), FM Temp employees (non-permanent employee with an appointment less than 1 year), and FM Foreign/Local National employees: Not included in the FM Certification Program; May complete certification training appropriate for their level and apply for certification if later assigned to an FM Certification coded billet FM Part-time employees (permanent employee with an "other than full-time" employment schedule, normally between 32-64 hours bi-weekly): May be included in the FM Certification Program at Component s discretion If not included, may still complete certification training appropriate for their level, report training completion on their resumes, and apply for certification if later assigned to an FM Certification coded billet NAF employees: Not included in the FM Certification Program; May complete certification training appropriate for their level and apply for certification if later assigned to an FM Certification coded billet These policy items will be documented in the next revision of the DoDI 1300.26.
Meet Your Certification Deadline! Per DoDI 1300.26 Encl 3, para 4.a.1, participants in the FM Certification Program have two years to obtain their certification. In the event an individual cannot obtain the FM Certification in the initial 2-year time period, the CCA may grant a time waiver(s) in 1-year increments to remain in the position. If an individual fails to obtain the required FM Certification and the CCA approved time waiver(s) have expired, the individual is subject to adverse actions Adverse actions applicable are defined by the Component s Table of Penalties

Continuing Education & Training Credits Keep your DFMCP current by accruing a certain number of Continuing Education and Training credits every two years.
