It is designed to help those contemplating business or other careers as well as those who are preparing to teach in the social studies. Admission Requirements: Students enrolling in 00 400 level courses must be admitted to the program. Admission is granted by the department. Minimum university admission requirements are: a minimum of 2 earned semester credit hours. a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 ( C ). Contact the department for application procedures. Advising: You are expected to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure courses are taken in an order that will lead to successful completion of the degree. A minimum of a "C" grade is required in each of the five courses that are prerequisites for the course, 207, 01, 55, 56, and 462. To be eligible for graduation with a bachelor's degree, a student is required to have completed at least 40 credits of upper division (00 400) courses. Following this degree map, a BS major may have earned 9 credits in upper division courses. Before you begin Term 8, count how many upper division credits you have earned. This should include 482W. If that number falls short of the 40 credit requirements, you should consider taking one upper division course in either General Education or Economics Electives. PROGRAM NOTES A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required for all courses taken in the required economics core courses and required economics electives for the economics BS major. The BS major should complete 68 credits in the following areas: * Required Core Courses in Economics (28 credits): 201, 202, 207, 01, 55, 56, 420, 462, and 482W * Required Unrestricted Elective Courses in Economics (9 credits) * Business Foundation Requirements (1 credits): MATH 112, IT 101, ACCT 200, BLAW 200, MGMT 200, ACCT 210, MRKT 10, MGMT 0, MGMT 46, FINA 62
