Our Spring Ahead program is designed to help ease the transition from high school to college. You have taken the first step by attending today s information session. In June 2015, the former Burlington County College established a new partnership with Rowan University, providing students conditional-acceptance into the university. Spring Ahead Steps STEP 1: INFORMATION SESSION After the information session today, please complete the following steps. 1. Apply for admission at rcbc.edu After reviewing the list of academic majors and certificates, complete and submit our free application for admission at rcbc.edu. You will receive an acceptance email that contains an RCBC student identification number, student email address, and WebAdvisor account information within three to five business days. Note: Some programs have selected admissions such as American Sign Language/ Interpreter Education, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Information Technology, Nursing, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Hearing Instrument Sciences degrees, and the Coding Certificate. Refer to the specific program brochure for admissions standards and policies. 2. Submit an official transcript and SAT/ACT scores. Submit an official transcript from your high school to the Office of Admissions. Spring Ahead Steps 3. Apply for financial aid. Financial aid eligibility is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To complete your FAFSA, you (and your parent or guardian if you are considered a dependent) must sign the application. The easiest way to sign the FAFSA is electronically using a FSAID number. To apply for a FSAID, visit fsaid.ed.gov. Complete and submit the FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov. RCBC s Title IV School Code: 007730 After you submit your FAFSA, you should receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the US Department of Education s Federal Processor. We receive the same information electronically and will inform you of the status of your application and if we need any additional documentation. Once your file is complete, we will send you a notice of your eligibility. Therefore, we administer the Accuplacer (if you are not exempt) and use the results to place you in the most appropriate courses based on your skills. Accuplacer Sections: 1.) Essay (WritePlacer) 2.) Spring Ahead Steps Preparing for the Accuplacer Placement Test If you are interested in participating in Step 2 of the Spring Ahead program, you must submit an application for admission at least two weeks prior to your high school s scheduled Accuplacer placement test date.* Speak with your high school guidance counselor to sign up for testing. Accuplacer Sample Questions Your Accuplacer placement test scores will be used to place you in college-level or pre-college-level classes. Spring Ahead Steps STEP 3: REGISTRATION VISIT If you plan to attend RCBC for the fall semester, speak with your high school guidance counselor to sign up for the Spring Ahead registration visit. Please submit your permission slip to the guidance office at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Please check our website: rcbcc.edu/spring-ahead for more information about upcoming events, important dates, and FAQs. On a scheduled day, students will visit one of RCBC s campuses to register early for their fall courses. Students are provided a light breakfast while receiving an overview of the day, which will include: the registration process, the transfer process, and financial aid information. Students will: Meet with an academic advisor to select their classes. Meet with an enrollment advisor to select days, times, and locations for their classes. Submit their registration form to the registration counselor and receive a print-out of their class schedule and bill. Tour the campus. Your schedule/bill will not be mailed to you. If you misplace your schedule/bill, you may access your student records online at rcbc.edu/webadvisor. Tuition and fees must be paid by the payment deadline. Note: If you do not plan to attend RCBC after you register for your courses, you must formally withdrawal with the Registration Office by the noted deadline. Premier Partnership Rowan University Through Rowan College at Burlington County s premier partnership with Rowan University, students now have an affordable path to a bachelor s degree in Burlington County. All students who graduate from RCBC will be conditionally-accepted to Rowan University, which will offer a 15 percent tuition discount for programs offered online or at RCBC s Mount Laurel campus. Program Benefits: Outstanding university degree for as low as $30,000. The most efficient path to four-year degree. 15 percent tuition discount for courses taught online and on the Mount Laurel campus. Five ($2,000) scholarships given annually to top RCBC students. Priority over students from other universities and non-partnered community colleges. Academic Programs The University and Rowan College at Burlington County have identified several programs that they are working to bring to the Mount Laurel campus: M.A. in STEM Education with certifications in Math or Physical Science B.
