AW Server 3 GE s Centricity PACS and Centricity PACS-IW with the Universal Viewer bring together image management tools with advanced visualization and image processing applications 1 powered by AW into a single unified workspace. It provides a single source for MIP/MPR tools, vessel analysis and automatic bone removal, fusion and registration of multi-modality images and a dedicated oncology workflow. This feature provides quick access to 3D tools during routine study review, eliminating the need for users to log in to multiple applications and retrieve images for comparison from other systems. It improves both the radiologist s ability to complete the reading of exams quicker as well as the IT deployment s productivity by eliminating requests for DICOM resends and image transfers between systems. With this unique source of advanced visualization and image processing integration within the GE PACS environment, the Universal Viewer delivers the next generation seamless workflow environment, including: images to be processed. Oncology workflow streamlines oncology reading so you can spend less time retrieving studies and preparing exams, and have more time to spend reading and reviewing studies. As a true cross-modality oncology reading platform, OncoQuant helps you correlate and compare CT, MR, and 3D X-ray data. It automates workflow to facilitate comparisons over time and make follow-up exams more efficient. It simplifies the assessment of findings on the basis of morphologic criteria, while assessing, characterizing, and measuring findings based on morphologic criteria is made simple by the unique follow up wizard. Integrated Registration provides easy comparison of CT, MR, PET, and interventional 3D images with simplicity at its core. It streamlines registration and fusion between volumetric acquisitions from either the same or different modalities, using dedicated protocols or by doing a simple drag-and-drop within the core 3D Viewer platform. 3D Volume processing, providing you with the tools you need to streamline your workflow. This embedded application offers 3D processing of any CT, MR, 3D X-ray. It provides a wide range of analysis tools that help you perform more detailed diagnoses and make your reporting process more efficient Vascular processing provides you with easily accessible, user-friendly tools to analyze 3D angiographic data. It comes with proven zeroclick bone segmentation for head, neck, and other anatomy. And leverages a one or twoclick efficient vessel tracking tool with stenosis measurement and plaque analysis capabilities for any vasculature, including the coronary arteries. Automated pre-processing for vascular studies provides you with instant access to your studies in a ready-to-read state. Complex processing tasks are performed automatically in advance of your review, so that you don t lose time waiting at the PACS console for your Product Details Clinical capabilities Provides core AW Volume Viewer capabilities 1 Requires purchase of separate application licenses. 2 including 2 : Intuitive MIP/MPR/CPR/3D rendering and analysis tools Multi-volume comparisons and merges Auto-select provides powerful one-click, automatic segmentation tools for extraction of any continuous structure, including bones and vessels 3D image manipulation tools including cut planes and VOI s 3D fly through views synchronized with reformats and the ability to create movies of fly through Ability to create QuickTime VRs and MPEG movies Auto-contour tool with one-click detection and comparison of hypo/hyper signal contours on CT and MR exams Dedicated MR review protocols AW Server 2-1
Access to the following Advanced Applications: Autobone Xpress facilitates segmentation of bony structures and calcifications for CT angiography exams Integrated Registration OncoQuant Oncology staging and follow up with RECIST, WHO criteria Workflow capabilities Ability to manually adjust image resolution during user interaction with images to improve performance for sluggish network situations. Static images will always be displayed in full resolution for diagnosis. Automatically launch the appropriate 3D applications when a study is selected for reading in the Universal Viewer by including the advanced clinical protocols in PACS smart reading protocols Support for Saved State selection Seamless use of common tools for 2D and 3D applications (Window/Level, Zoom, Pan, Distance measurement, 2D ROI selection) AW Server 3 communicates directly with the Centricity PACS or Centricity PACS-IW database, eliminating the need for replication of images in multiple databases and allowing rapid launching of 3D applications directly in the PACS viewer. Allows you to save the exam to the PACS database in an intermediate post processing state at any time and then to restore it from the Universal Viewer, allowing multiple radiologists or technologists to contribute to post processing studies. Performance Performance and interactivity of AW Advanced Applications depends on the network bandwidth, latency and client workstation configuration. For optimal performance, a minimum network bandwidth of 40Mbps (LAN) with a latency of 20ms or lower is required. The server may also be used over WAN/Internet although performance will depend on round trip latency between the client workstation and the server. A minimum of 3 Mbps bandwidth per client with latency less than 35ms is recommended for reasonable performance when compression is used. To optimize performance, GE s Smart Compression technology applies a user-selectable level of compression to displayed images only while you interact with the images. Images are displayed automatically at full fidelity once user interaction stops. A clear visual display on the images indicates when compression is being applied. The device is not intended for diagnosis of lossy compressed images. The AW Server 3 supports the following compression levels: Lossless Lossy 15:1 (compression ratio is 15:1) Lossy 22:1 (compression ratio is 22:1) Lossy 33:1 (compression ratio is 33:1) Turn-Key Server Specifications The current turn-key server hardware specifications listed here are minimum server hardware capabilities. Specific server hardware is subject to change without prior notice. This turn-key server solution can support concurrent processing of up to a maximum of 30k images across all active instances of the Universal Viewer connected to the same server. Server Hardware 4X Six Core Intel Xeon X7542 CPU 64GB RAM 1 Gbps NIC for DICOM and client traffic Dedicated Embedded Lights Out Manager (LOM) Fully redundant power and cooling 4U form factor rack-mountable server Server O/S Novell SUSE Enterprise 11 64-bit Linux Virtualized Server Specifications A software-only version of AW Server 3 is available for existing VMware installations when concurrent 3D processing of more than 30K images is required. Multiple virtual machine (VM) instances of the AW Server 3 may be configured in a cluster in your server farm, providing a scalable solution (i.e., up to 6 VM instances that each provide processing for 16k concurrent images). The cluster shares a single connection to the PACS database, and utilizes a userbalancing scheme to distribute new PACS users to AW Server 2-2
less-used nodes in the cluster. VM Host Requirements For the scalable solution, all VMs are required to run on the same type of host hardware to ensure equal computational power for all nodes in the cluster. Intel Xeon CPU with SSE 4.1 (45 nm or higher) VMware ESXi 5.0u1 or 5.1 VM Configuration Requirements Each VM in the scalable cluster must be configured with the following resources : 8vCPU, 24GB vram 2 NICs 70GB vhdd 4 AWS users/node 6 VM nodes maximum with scalable configuration Virtualized Server Licensing AW Server 3 may be purchased either as a single node installation, or as a scalable clustered installation with multiple VMs (i.e. multiple AW Server 3 instances).
