ace online offers you quick and easy access to a wide range of specialist products and resources This simple yet fully supported system facilitates instantaneous quotes and renewal offers, with full policy documentation being sent straight to your mailbox. You will receive assistance (via the i button appearing on screen) and ACE Online has underwriters on hand to help with quotes and questions. ACE Online complies fully with the Data Protection Act. All our data is stored in the UK and the secure login structure ensures complete peace of mind. Access to all products is provided automatically so you can use ACE Online as your single portal for all specialty lines of business, with absolute peace of mind. 3
ace online how to guide You can log in to ACE Online easily using your unique User ID and Password. This takes you to your personal welcome page where you will see your own data including your office location for access to our full suite of products. Insured Details Once you reach the ACE Online Insured Details screen, you have the option to input a client reference. This reference assists you with any future client searches you may perform. At this stage you can alter your commission rate, so please ensure that the commission level and cover dates are correct. This applies to all ACE Online products. You do have the option to alter these by modifying the risk once you have your quote. This also applies when you come to bind the risk. The inception date automatically defaults to the day the quote is created, but the dates can be altered. The minimum period is 6 months, the maximum is 18 months and some products can be single contract. You need to enter the relevant detail to produce a quote. In relation to D&O quotes, as soon as you enter either the company registration number or the client name and press Search, our system automatically pulls through the financial information, saving you time and effort. 4

ace online how to guide Application insured details & choosing the company If there is more than one option, you will be given a comprehensive list of clients to choose from. After you select the client, ACE Online collects the company details including financial information. In some cases the company may be a subsidiary. When this happens, a message will appear asking you to click Cancel to continue. Cover is provided for the Insured Company as a subsidiary, not the Parent company, in relation to D&O. 6
Application questions For all products, please answer all Qualifying Questions that appear. Upon answering Yes or No to a question, you might be advised of an impending referral. You can then choose to refer the quote to an underwriter. A drop-down box will appear. This allows you to let the underwriter know relevant details relating to the question. You also have the option to send all documents and commission details directly to your client. 7
ace online how to guide Application draft quote Once you have answered all the questions and no referral is triggered, press Continue. A draft quote will be displayed. Please alter the Sum Insured if the amount is incorrect. You will have a number of options depending upon the product you are using. You can tailor the quote to your requirements by selecting the appropriate options. If you are satisfied that the details are correct, please click on the Proceed to Quote option and continue to save the quote and log it to yourself. This will generate your documents, which will be sent to you via email. They are also stored in the document tab at the top of the screen. You can modify or suspend your application at any time. Once you have a valid quote, you can modify it and alter the details, copy the quote to create a duplicate, or proceed to bind it. Should you wish to refer the risk to an underwriter at this stage, select the Refer quote radio button and insert the relevant text. 8

ace online how to guide Application referral Upon completing the application process you might occasionally be referred to an underwriter. If this is the case, please input any notes or further details you have regarding the application into the heading box and notes box. Please ensure that all the text is entered or your details may be lost and the risk will not be referred to the underwriters. After entering the required information, please click Continue to proceed. A referral email will be sent to the appropriate underwriting team for its consideration. 10
Binding a risk In order to bind a risk on the system, press the accept quote button at the top of the page. Please enter the address and select the appropriate limit/price. At this stage, you must ensure the Inception date is correct the date can be adjusted at this stage. If you are satisfied with the quote, proceed to Incept Cover accordingly. You will automatically be emailed your policy documents and they will also appear in the document store. ACE Online operates on a full cycle basis, so your renewal terms will be sent to you between 30 and 60 days prior to renewal. Getting connected In addition to the ACE Online platform, we also trade on a fully connected basis with two software houses: Acturis and SSP. If you use either one of these, you can trade with us for A&H and D&O (XOL following in 2014) in a fully integrated environment. This allows direct access to ACE Online from your back office system with no need for re-keying. Simply log on to imarket and request ACE s products and services. If you cannot remember your password, please call imarket on 020 7265 5765. Once you have completed this, both ACE and Acturis or SSP will grant you the appropriate access. You will need to ensure you have checked the ACE e-trade option in your Insurers list. Product pathways are...
