BTS200 HIGH-DEFINITION SPEAKER Uniden s BTS200 high definition Bluetooth speaker provides clear stereo sound in a compact, portable package. With Bluetooth V2.1 compatibility, the BTS200 pairs with your cell phone to become a speakerphone for hands free conversations. You can also connect your music player (wired or wireless) for crisp, clear audio. English - 3

SET UP YOUR BTS200 SPEAKER Install the Battery 1. Remove the battery from any protective packaging and discard the packaging accordingly. 2. Align the battery pack with the guides along the inside of the battery area. Be sure the contact slots are in the correct position to close on the contacts. 3. Slide the battery in until you hear the latch click. Charge the Battery 1. Insert the adapter s DC jack into the DC connection. 2. Plug the adapter into a 120 VAC power supply (standard wall outlet). 3. The middle LED lights to indicate the battery is charging and goes off when complete. Your battery must be fully charged (more than 7.5 hours) before you can use your speaker. Turn on Your Speaker When you turn on your speaker for the first time, it automatically goes into pairing mode. The Bluetooth LED ( ) flashes rapidly and is ready to pair (see page 6). The next time you turn on your speaker, it searches for already paired devices and then moves into a standby state. English - 5

1. Press and hold for at least 3 seconds. 2. All LEDs light and a power on tone sounds. 3. and LEDs go out. 4. flashes slowly while looking for Bluetooth devices. It remains steady on when Bluetooth devices are discovered; otherwise, it goes out. To turn off the speaker: Press and hold Pair Bluetooth Devices to Your Speaker Pair First Bluetooth Device for at least 3 seconds. Pair your first Bluetooth device to your speaker when you turn your speaker on for the first time. Be sure your speaker is in pairing mode when you pair your second Bluetooth device (see step 1-2 of Pair Second Bluetooth Device on page 7). 1. Select a Bluetooth V2.1 or above device (mobile phone or music player) to pair. 2. Select the Searching mode on your Bluetooth device (refer to your Bluetooth device s owner s manual for details if necessary). 3. Your Bluetooth device should find BTS200; select it and use 0000 for a pairing code if necessary. 4. Verify that you are connected to your speaker. The Bluetooth LED ( ) moves to a steady ON state when pairing is complete. 6 - English

Pair Second Bluetooth Device 1. Turn on your speaker, and continue to press and hold until your speaker beeps twice. 2. Release. The BTS200 is ready to pair. 3. Follow the same procedures for pairing your first Bluetooth device (see page 6). BTS200 SPEAKER OPERATION Press and hold for at least 3 seconds to turn on your speaker. The and keys control the speaker s volume level during cellphone operation and music playback. Press and release the keys to increase or decrease the volume level one step at a time. Press and hold and to quickly raise and lower the volume levels. Your speaker sounds an alert tone when it reaches the maximum upper and lower volume levels. 10 - English

Basic Cell Phone Operations The green LED flashes when your cellphone has an incoming call. Both the speaker and your cellphone may ring, depending on your cellphone settings. To... Do this... Call Waiting You can receive call waiting notification when your cellphone is paired to your speaker. The LED flashes and your speaker sounds an alert tone. Your cellphone must subscribe to Call Waiting service to use these features; contact your telephone provider for more information. To... Basic Music Operation When you pair a Bluetooth music player to your speaker, you can control operation through your speaker. To... Do this... Press. Play music NOTE: When you stop or pause the music playback, your speaker starts streaming music into a buffer. The music resumes at the same volume level after you press. Skip to the next track Press and at the same time. Skip to the previous track Press and at the same time. Control the volume Press to increase or to decrease the volume. SPECIAL FEATURES Charge Cellphone using a USB Cable If you have the proper fitting USB cable (not included), you can charge your cellphone through your speaker. Be sure you have a USB cable that will fit both USB connections - the one on your speaker and the one on your cellphone. 1. Connect the USB cable to your cellphone and to your speaker. 2. There are no specific charging LEDs on your speaker; however, any charging LEDs on your cellphone may blink accordingly. After you charge your cellphone using your speaker s battery, be sure you recharge your speaker. Play Music through a Wired Connection You can still play music through your BTS200 speaker even if your music device is not paired to your speaker. You can physically connect your music device to your speaker with a cable having a 3.5 mm minijack at one end (not included). 1. Plug one end of the cable into your music device, just like you would a pair of headphones. 2. Plug the other end of the cable into your speaker s 3.5 mm jack labeled Audio In. 3. Use your music device to start and control music playback through your speaker. 14 - English

The following restrictions apply when you are playing music through a wired connection: If both a Bluetooth device and a wired device are connected to your speaker, the Bluetooth device will take priority over the wired device. The BTS200 does not control the wired device; it only plays music through a wired connection. It cannot operate or skip. You must use the wired device to do that. If you are listening to music from the wired device and you press, your speaker will start playing music from the Bluetooth device if available. Manage SRS WOW HD On/Off The BTS200 speaker utilizes SRS WOW HD technology. WOW HD significantly improves the playback quality of audio, delivering a dynamic 3D entertainment experience with deep, rich bass and high frequency clarity for crisp detail. You can turn SRS on or off (default = on). Your speaker retains the SRS setting during power off. 1. Press and at the same time when the music is playing. 2. If you hear a single acknowledgement tone, you have turned SRS off. If you hear a double acknowledgement tone, you have turned SRS back on. English - 15

TROUBLESHOOTING If this happens... Disconnection due to Out of Range Sound is not clear or there is no sound at all Music won t play on the BTS200 The BTS200 volume controls are not working. LED No Power Sound is too small / too much distortion Try this... After moving back into connection range, press key for reconnection. Check BTS200 or your Bluetooth device volume level. Make sure your Bluetooth device has A2DP. Check if both devices are connected. Turn your BTS200 off and then back on to autoconnect with your Bluetooth device. Change the volume from your Bluetooth device. Check the battery level. Make sure BTS200 is turned on. Make sure BTS200 is charged. Adjust the volume level of BTS200 or Bluetooth device. 16 - English

If this happens... Phone call not answer by BTS200 Music doesn t play after hanging up a call BTS200 doesn t control the music Try this... Make sure your cellphone has HFP. Check if both devices are connected. Restart BTS200 for auto-connecting with your Bluetooth device. Press to resume music. Make sure your Bluetooth device has AVRCP. Reset your BTS200 Speaker 1. Turn off the BTS200. 2. Press,, and keys at the same time. Hold for several seconds. 3. The and LEDs flash and then go dark. 4. Release,, and keys. Battery Features Your BTS200 comes equipped with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion polymer battery. You can recharge the battery by connecting it to 120 VAC power through the AC adapter. Install and Charge the Battery See page 5 for details on installing and charging the battery (the same procedures as for initial turnup). Remove the Battery 1. Press down on the battery latch to release the battery. 2. With the battery latch pressed down, press down and push out the opposite end of the battery to slide it out of the battery compartment. Check the Battery Level Press the battery indicator button while the AC adapter is not connected to your speaker (see page 8). The battery LEDs light according to how much power remains in the battery: 3 LEDs = 100-70% remaining 2 LEDs = 70-35% remaining 1 LED = 35-15% remaining 18 - English

0 LEDs = Less than 15% power remaining. When the battery level falls below 15% (0 LED) status, the speaker sounds alert tones (four-beep pattern).
