PANO MANAGER CONNECTOR OVERVIEW The Pano Manager Connector for Microsoft SCVMM (SCVMM Connector) & Hyper-V provides an interface for Pano Controller to communicate with Hyper-V and SCVMM. Pano Manager Connector allows managing virtual machine directly from Hyper-V as well as through SCVMM. It must be installed on the same machine where the Hyper-V server is installed or where the SCVMM tool is installed. This document gives details of the new version of Pano Manager Connector with support for latest version of Hyper-V and SCVMM PLATFORM SUPPORT Operating System: Windows 2008 R2 with Hyper-V Windows 2012 Server with Hyper-V 2012 Windows 2012 R2 Server with Hyper-V 2012 R2 Hyper-V 2008 R2 Server Hyper-V 2012 Server Hyper-V 2012 R2 Server SCVMM Version: SCVMM 2008 R2 SCVMM 2012 R2 SCVMM 2012 with SP1 PANO CONTROLLER INTEGRATION ENHANCEMENT With the release of Pano Manager Connector version 6.0.4.X, it is possible to integrate Pano Manager with Hyper- V directly without the need of SCVMM. This can save on cost of licenses for SCVMM for smaller deployments. The following versions of Windows server with Hyper-V are supported: Windows 2008 R2 with Hyper-V Windows 2012 with Hyper-V Windows 2012 R2 with Hyper-V Please note that for integrating Hyper-V server (without full OS), the integration is possible only through SCVMM. LICENSING Pano Manager Connector requires a license to function. You must get a Serial Key and User credentials for applying the license. License activation is over the Internet so the machine where Pano Manager Connector is being installed should have direct access to the Internet. If not, offline activation can be performed. Please send an email to info@propalms.com to get a license key for Pano Connector Manager. 4

INSTALLATION Pano Manager Connector can connect directly with Hyper-V server or via SCVMM. The mode of operation needs to be selected during installation. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have any previous version of Pano Manager Connector installed on the server, please uninstall it from Add/Remote program. 1. Run the Pano Connector MSI Installer on the machine where Hyper-V is or SCVMM is installed 2. During installation, choose the mode of operation based on target management platform. The detected management platform will be displayed if available 3. Pano Manager Connector will automatically add a firewall exception for incoming TCP connections on the configured port number (default Port number is 8316). 4. During the installation, please activate the license by entering the Serial Key, Username and Password. This activation is over the Internet. The installer will activate the license over an outgoing TCP connection (HTTPS) to https://keys.propalms.com 5

Activating License Online. Click on Activate Online and you will see the following screen, provide the detail and activate. If you do not have a serial key, you can activate the license later by accessing the licensing tool from Propalms Start Menu item. Activating License Offline: If the Pano Controller connector is installed on a machine where internet connection is not available, you can activate the license offline with PanoCertificate.pcf file generated from Pano Offline Certificate Generator Tool. To Activate the License click on Activate Offline and you will see the following screen. 6

Select the PanoCertificate.pcf file from and activate. You will see the license status as following if it is activated successfully. 7

NOTE: You can generate the PanoCertificate.pcf file from Pano Offline Certificate Generator Tool. To do so please download the tool from our portal an install it on a machine where internet is available. Enter the Hardware Key (You can see this key in Activate License Offline image). Enter the Username, Password, and Serial Key which you have already received from us. Click on Generate button to generate the PanoCertificate.pcf file. 5. Configure Hyper-V in Pano Manager now, as usual 8

UPDATED PANO MANAGER HYPER-V VIRTUAL APPLIANCE There is an updated Pano Manager Virtual Appliance available with support for Hyper-V 2012. KNOWN ISSUES Following are the open issues in this release: 1. VM Template Deployment Issue: The automatic deployment of a virtual machine template feature is not supported by this version of Pano Manager Connector.
